
"Ghaah! Help!" Pit cried, flailing around in the water and getting us even more soaked.
"Yup," I replied, relieved he wasn't dead but annoyed at our luck. Pit could not swim. Most angels couldn't, either- their wings dragged them down. "I'll try to get him; I've saved his butt from the water before," I muttered under my breath before running into the lake with Paige. She'd gone out to the deep end, so I did the little I could- I helped her bring him to shore.
While Paige walked off, I stared at the angel expectantly. "Pit."
"Wh...wha..?"
"Are you dead?"
He blinked up at me. "Yeah, definitely dead. I'm now the lost soul of Pit come from the dead to haunt you."
I snorted. "Great! I don't have to do the Heimlich on you, then?"
At that he struggled and got up. "Get away from me, you crazy angel!"
I laughed. "I'll take that as a no. So now what?"
