Do you think we'll have to return to current gen systems in order to get a good quality version of this game? I really hope Beenox doesn't screw over the next gen adopters here...
One of the reasons I got a PS4 at launch was because of the Skylanders SF game available for it. It'd be like a slap in the face for them to totally screw over the people who invested in next gen for the previous game. sigh I reserved both a PS4 and PS3 version just in case. But has anyone found out if you're stuck getting a legendary copy at TRU with the pre-order? I personally hate legendary figures and feel kinda jipped when I got home and noticed that on the receipt. They really should clearly mark it on the card. |

I'd totally pay for the pink and purple bishounen Skylander dude and the beefy Amazonian Skylander lady if they made them. :D

It is interesting. Entrust them to mess up the Wii version again where the bulk of their shares are, or have them mess up the minority who is taking the leap forward on the next gen platform. Decisions, decisions. I hope there's some healthy skepticism coming from management, and they are being "handled" accordingly. I honestly think they need to get a patch strategy out, just in case

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed. |

basically what you both said. they went for the consoles that sell the most right now as in the past gen though that means it sort of limits the whole thing of trap team with the capability when they still make for the wii. The whole point of swap force that VV did well was excell on the wii u version definitely and i'm going to see how well they did on the ps4 version. I didn't bother buying a ps3 version of swap force this time. As a whole everyone that has been buying them has suffered burn out. I foresee many more sales again to justify any purchases and like this area I am in, most will keep wave 1 figures in stock over any other wave and not order any more except in getting holiday/exclusives. Making new portals now once again and making the swap force portal obsolete so soon puts a bad taste in my mouth probably like many others as it forces you to buy a full game. Not paying 75 for it and going to wait for the black friday or week before half off sale. Making 60+ figures and short games DO NOT justify the purchases any more. There's never enough content to justify making this much of figures and then rolling out a new game + 60 more figures the next year. I also want to point out that TFB working on this one almost makes me want to skip it entirely because VV isn't a part of it. There better be a jump button in this one too. Gotta say no to this greedy practice sooner or later. Just a few appealing variants, base game and figures

Taking that last ride through the sunset on skylanders. Hopefully a return of more classic spyro gameplay in the horizon. |

Take it to GameStop. They're doing... something with them. I'm sure they can just throw yours in the pile, if you'd like. |

@tigerdr
On your comment about jumping, I'm actually excited because from what I can tell from gameplay shown so far, is that we will keep jumping (I am very glad this was introduced in Swap Force) but we will also get more boost pads (possibly even transport pads) like we saw in Spyro's Adventure. I do really like the way boost pads were used in SSA -- but also like being able to jump around when fighting baddies.

My newest negative concern involves not having a banker NPC. How will I be able to transfer all the money that any rich Skylander has and give some to the poor ones without journeying so much and collecting gold from chapter to chapter?

Can someone please explain to me why it's a big deal that we keep getting new portals? Sure it's not the most environmentally friendly decision but I can't see it having ANY financial impact on the game so why the concern? All new big budget titles for the PS3, PS4, X-Box 360, X-Box One and P.C. are $59.99. The core version of Trap Team comes with 2 traps ($4 a piece I think), A Trap Master ($15) and a Core Skylander ($10). So the value of the starter is somewhere around $93...ish. Sooooooo I'm at a loss of why anyone is complaining about the portal since we clearly aren't paying for it.
Now that that's out of the way my main concerns are thus: Traps: Beyond one for each element, I can't see the point in getting more than one with the villain vault system. Toys For Bob: Yes it's actually a concern. Don't get me wrong I both love and respect them for bringing this franchise into the light but they seemed to be rather "stick in the muddish" when it came to the average player gripe. V.V. gave us a legitimate evolution of the the franchise where as Giants felt like an expansion of SSA (at least for me). I am terrified of them bring back Heroic Challenges and not bringing anything new and simply resting on their laurels. For now I will give them the benefit of the doubt but I have concerns. Game Length: I personally liked the longer levels in Swap Force. I felt like I got more value out of longer levels. Nightmare was a real blast. I felt like I survived something rather than played it. Trap Team seems like it's going to be shorter but we'll see. I mean if the content seems trivial what's motivating me to purchase more figures? Burn Out: I'm getting a little burnt out. This franchise really needs to WOW me at this point to keep me going after this. Infinity is really stepping up to the plate with online, Toy Box, Racing, Mini Games, etc....Not to mention Marvel and soon to be Star Wars. I'm only getting the New figs. this time around. I feel with my 100+ figure collection now there isn't much motivating me to make further purchases. That's not to say I don't want more figs. but I want something more to do with my collection/investment. |

I guess my only real concern regards how much the villains will actually be played as by the gamers. That and I can see people skipping it for the new portal. But I'm still getting the game, and I will use the villains and I won't mind the new portal (especially with the Punch Pop Fizz deal at GameStop that I don't really need), and I KNOW it's going to be worth my wait! AND GOSH DARN IT I'M PROUD OF IT!

My concerns is with the packages that hold the Trap Masters. Anyone want to know why, please check the Gearshift unboxing topic where I explain the pros and cons of the new boxes.
