Well it looks to me like the characters will actually be duos. Kind of like built in sidekicks. I would very much like it if they allowed you to use any sidekick like character with any regular character, but maybe the duos will be locked. It would be nice to see some mini figures for the next game you could buy for $5-$7

That would make a lot of sense maybe the title was "Skylanders Trapped Teams" all along.

If anyone's curious as to what the larger character looks like, this is probably him from the Mega Bloks sets that were previewed at ToyFair a couple months ago. He's the blue guy on the left of Kaos.

Hmm. that's an interesting idea. Sidekicks that are paired with a Skylander to create a "team".

In fact, that'd give new life to the Sidekicks as well. They've been the butt of the game for years now considering they literally do nothing. The one is definitely Ranger though.

Maybe the names are like, together. Like the one is Ranger, the other is "Danger", so together they're "Ranger Danger". That's a joke tho lol

I speculated in another thread back when we saw the Mega Blok things that the characters wouldn't have a "Series" but be some sort of "Evolution". Perhaps from the crystals. So, you could use the new guys in older games were they'd be "Devolved" while in the new games, older figures would be able to "evolve" either from the toys you already own, or a figure you can buy (which would already be evolved). Technically they'd be "new" characters in the same way that a Pokemon has multiple evolutions that are different characters.

The smaller dude is waaayyyy too similar to Triggs. You can see the guns are near identical. I'd have doubts about them releasing a character that looks so similar. Ranger, as I speculated in that other thread too, looks pretty similar to Gill Grunt.

Characters that could evolve would constitute a "game changer" in my mind. It could also circumvent the "series" thing, since they can't keep releasing reposes forever. I think backlash from fans have reached them, so this would also circumvent that.
This is just me of course. That Mummy dude could be some sort of evolution of Chop Chop. The dude with the hammers and the Lion guy I would guess are flat out new core characters though.

For the millionth bajilianth time his name is not Ranger! Do you not remember the Ranger Vehicles. It's more than likely the name of the gimmick characters.

The one on the left looks like an evolved trigger happy. My prediction is that along with the "rangers," there will be series 4 characters, which evolve to have a huge new power like a new moveset or a giant explosion or something. Maybe the storyline involves the skylanders finding the rangers, and the rangers help the series 4 figures "evolve," so they team up and fight kaos.

If they are Rangers, I sure do hope one of them has a Dragonzord!

So lets not all be stuck with the next game being called Trap Team and start considering that was the Trap to make us think that. I can see it being Ranger Team or Team Ranger.

Well to be fair, the item on the toy page listed the bow as Ranger Bow and Arrow, underneath of "Chop Chop Mighty Sword". I honestly can't understand why the vehicles also say "Ranger Assortment". I think it's ok to call him Ranger for now, until we know of what his real name is.

Don't you think the Blue Fish Guys arrow looks like it could also be a sword?

Maybe they are sidekick-like pets, and they help in battle, but also work like Infinity discs--giving their partner special powers or stats boosts.
But it would suck if they kept them hidden in a little box inside the Skylanders pack, so u couldnt see which character u were getting.

I like arenne's idea it would be cool it would be the "GAME CHANGER" Activision has been talking about. If they made it like Disney infinity discs you don't know what you get until you open that could cause a DI and sky lander similarity war again.

From a marketing perspective, it would be genius (greedy) b/c people would buy duplicates just to search inside the mystery box. And if they decided to tie chase variants to the mystery figures, then it would put everyone on an equal playing field--that part would be nice!

The UK Facebook page finally added this picture 5 minutes ago. Does anyone know how to get my Facebook to show only the US Skylander page?

Anyhow, really looking forward to this now.

I think someone mentioned there's been domain names registered under Trap Team.

Check out the leaked photo. Seems to have "weapon" items for the figures and a massive portal.

I'm feeling confident about saying that some of these characters are mutated versions of previous characters...kinda goes along with the comment on Facebook about using existing characters in all new ways.

I don't even know what to say about these. First off, these new guys are huge and that small green guy looks like some hedgehog cactus thing.

They've established in Giants that larger skylanders = more cost. Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that they somehow have magnets on them so you can accomodate new weapons.
