"Thank you," Kumara replied to Nilan before wandering over to collect Shadow's armour. Her own was made of her own energy, so it couldn't be removed.

ooc: Ah, to answer you theuone, my character sent a mental message to everyone who has met him in this roleplay. The final message was for Starz, Aretis's mate. Hope that clears it up for ya.

Aretis, from wherever he was, watched as the party climbed the mountain. This was not some sort of scrying orb or anything, but he merely used a magnifying glass and his light powers to capture light like a camera would except from incredibly long distances. Filtering the captured light through the magnifying glass he would be able to project an image of them. Aretis focused in on Starz. His heart sunk as he watched her. I will protect her. No matter the cost. He thought.

(Thanks, so it's safe to say Glare and Voltaire didn't hear it. Although, given Glare ... hmmm.)

Both Glare and Voltaire thanked Nilan and went over to put on their individual armors. Once they were done, Glare said, "Alright then, so we climb the mountain and head to the mist, right?"

Derrick hadn't removed his, rather he had just visited Nilan for the inspection/touch ups/last minute checks. George retrieved his armor, armor of the fire elementals that was a mild red with golden trim. The crest openings were bracketed with smoothly shaped material that made it more comfortable to wear, and a loose plated tail guards. Leaving the helmet off, he re-situated his satchel so that it was well hung and somewhat latched to the armor.

Kihei had put on his armor and stayed near Derrick

Makil had put on his armor as well

Glare looked around at the others, "So, are we ready to do this?" He looked bright in his armor, and almost knightly too.

Kumara nodded at Tavnor before activating her energy armour, "we will do our best, Sir."

George stepped up, "You can guarantee full potential from myself."

"As well as mine," Derrick was just next to him. Standing side by side Derrick was but half the earth dragon's size, it was quite the interesting image, but they both stood with their heroism and confidence showing.

Kihei stood next to Derrick "Same here" He said

"I will do my best" Makil said

George glided down overhead, "If we are pressured by time, taking the stairs down is the last thing on my mind. Ride the cross breeze down, it'll be much faster and quite relaxing," he stated as he steadied himself a little above them awaiting a response or reaction.

Derrick waited at the top of the stairs for a moment as George and Starz started their descent, "Hey Kihei," he turned to his friend, "Why are you so nice to me? Why even trust someone like me?"

Kumara and Shadow promptly followed the others, "this is it..." Shadow said to himself.

George drifts slowly back to Azuron, "Like I said, it really depends on the terrain," he started simply, "If something is to steep, I can form viable steps to use. If it is muddy, I can form a solid path, or if it is sharp, I can dull it out to a more comfortable surface. It is all dependant on what it is we come across," he replied.

Makil followed Starz "Nobody said this would be easy" He said

"Because, you are one of the nicest dragons I have ever met. I was raised to help those in need, and when I saw you the first time, I knew that I had to help you. Not only that, but you remind me of myself when I was your age Derrick" Kihei said

"This won't be easy" Makil repeated

"Who said life was easy? As long as we all do our best, I believe most of us will get through this..." Kumara said after hearing Makil and Starz' conversation.of course she believed some of them wouldn't make it. There's no way everyone would be able to hold off the darkness, herself included.

"Well, lets get started then" Makil said as he put a paw out to grab a rock, hoping it was stable

"Don't worry, George said he can help you if need," Shadow tried to reassure Azuron

George landed next to Azuron, "These larger rocks and the mix of sizes throw me off," he then kneeled down, "I could carry you, or with some assistance, move much of the large rocks aside to create a path," he suggested. Derrick hopped up onto one of the larger stones, keeping his toes close together, but his legs in a wide stance. A method of a quick ascent, but more than likely not as fast as he was currently prepared for.

Kihei followed Derrick "So, how do you know this is safe?" He asked

"A good plan would to do whatever expends the least amount of energy" Makil said

Derrick turned about to look at Kihei, "The rock is big enough for me to put all four paws down, and the base I quite deep in the other smaller rocks," he looked over to some other rocks, "It's analysis really," he spotted another bolder size rock further ahead, "See how that one has more rocks around it, and it doesn't stick up really high? That one could be stood on as well," he jumped up and glided up to it with a few flaps to achieve the distance.

Aretis concentrated. This would be hard. REALLY hard. As he watched the small pack of warriors start climbing he sighed. Ugh, they'll never make it in time. He then closed his eyes and pressed his claw to the ground. His small arm bulged a little channeling his physical force to boost his energy output. He felt the earth through the ground and all the way to the mountain. The mountain shuddered a little. The mountain cliff face began to shift a little. Big stone slabs began sticking out of the face of the mountain, with little ones connecting to each like steps. When the forming was done, flat plateaus about 20 meters above each other dotted the climb up the mountain. Supports for each of the slabs were also made out of stone under them.

Essentially it would be enough for the dragons to climb 20 meters at a time and so they could rest before climbing to the next plateau.

Aretis collapsed under the strain on his body from using so much magic. He had only been able to make plateaus up to just the first 300 meters with the biggest plateau at the 300 meter mark.

Aretis coughed up some blood and his nose was bleeding a little. Darn you stupid internal bleeding caused by the mental and physical strain of performing magic over distances. He lay down and closed his eyes. This is why I hate adventuring... He thought to himself. A tendril of dark energy touched his mind. Aretis yelled, not that anyone could hear. Then all went to red and black.

"It seems something, no, someone has altered the mountain side. It does not go to the top, but it is definitely going to make climbing a bit easier," George walked up to Azuron from behind, tucks his nose up under the water dragons and tossed him back into his wings which he had stuck up to catch him. The angle made him slide down onto his back, "There is too much for me to alter for such a distance. I am sure the terrain will not be as rigorous the closer we get to the peek(because you know, physics says boulder role down hill...)."

"Well, that simplifies things" Makil said as he climbed up to the first plateau before seeing Aretis was nowhere to be seen. "Has anyone see Arteis?" He asked with worry, the mission had only just begun

Kihei smiled as he followed Derrick

Kumara knew she would have no trouble with climbing this sort of terrain. She was light and nimble, meaning she would be able to scale the mountain without disturbing any loose boulders. However, she also knew that she would be more subjected to harsh weather conditions considering she was a mammal with fur and feathers...
It was pretty much the opposite with Shadow. He found the climb easier then some of the others but that didn't mean it wasn't difficult. He tried to be careful where he stepped, even if their path was made easier by an unknown source.

"I hope he is ok, we have only just started" Makil said

George walked up and around to the far side where the plateau met the mountain, where the angle was a simple step up rather than a hefty climb, "I do manual labor, such as construction, destruction, landscaping, you know the earth dragon accessible handy work," he walked over to Starz now, "Carrying one young dragon will be of no consequence," he then stopped to look over to Starz, "From what I can tell, if it is of any consolation, there seems to be a step-like formation just over there beyond the plateau we are currently on," he then gestured with his head and neck in the direction he believed the step-like terrain to be.

Derrick hopped up onto the plateau with much ease, "As you can see, if we combine some flying with hopping from stone to stone, you can conserve energy, as apposed to flying the whole way, and avoid all soreness from climbing the somewhat unstable rocks," he then spotted George over by Starz, with Azuron upon his back. He thought to wait for Kihei to join him before he just walked away.

Kihei followed Derrick "It is easier for sure buddy" He said

"Well, not an hour into this and we lost someone" Makil said with a sigh

George visually scanned the area, "I do not see anything, plus it is still early in the day itself," he said trying to assure Shade, "If there are any that decide to show their hides in the day, there is quite a number of us to ward them off if not defeat them."

Derrick began walking for the others, "So, what was it you and Makil did before you came to Ceeador? You know, before we became heroes and what not."

"I know, but I just feel like something bad happened already" Makil said

"Well, we just were normal people. Makil treated me like his son and he always knew what to do whenever something happened" Kihei explained as he followed Derrick
