It was on display to play at Nintendo World but nobody seemed to want to dare try; they just wanted the game (or Pokemon) and to go home.

This game. is. amazing.

It feels so much more fluid than the 3DS version. My only complaint is that the somewhat wonky controls can screw with the gameplay (I.E: Performing a Smash attack only to be turned in the opposite direction you were aiming for).

I have purchased a Wii U and the GameCube Bundle it'll have it the 1st or 2nd

I love Smash Bros 64. I love Melee. I love Brawl. I love Kefuffle.

Unfortunately, I'm not too impressed. I knew this as soon as I played Kerfuffle for 3DS...but I wanted to postpone my thoughts on the game because I thought it was possible that gameplay would be better on WiiU due to better control layouts...and a few other issues I'll get to down below. I told myself that I wouldn't post my opinion and thoughts on the game until I've played enough...but I think I've reached the point where I can discuss how I feel on Kerfuffle.

One thing that really irks me is defensive play. In fact, defensive play in this game is a huge bothersome to me, Brawl actually did it better. Getting up close to another player and trying your hardest to chain them and deal as much damage as possible as fast as you can doesn't work here. At all. Defensive play is rewarded here, IMO. There's really no momentum that carries over with a ton of characters and there is some serious end lag animations for a ton of moves.

Maybe I just played way too much Smash 64 and Melee (although I did too spend a lot of time with Brawl) where everything was much faster, gravity didn't blow, and most characters felt like how they should.
Kerfuffle honestly feels way more similar to Brawl than it does Melee. Gravity isn't quite heavy like it should be. Slower paced combat...and defensive play is what truly wins. Whoever says otherwise is probably in denial.

Yup! Kerfuffle to me feels way to similar to Brawl, IMO. Brawl took the amazing gameplay (I'm not talking about wavedashing or L-cancelling here) of Melee and slowed it down a bit and totally messed with the gravity and chains and combo's became almost gone. Kerfuffle, while it is amazing, honestly took a huge hit even compared to Brawl, because nearly every character loses their momentum when trying to chain attacks together, although gravity is a little more refined, but there is some amazing end lag to character animations. Also, the blast zones are way too god damn huge in Kerfuffle. Jesus Christ, are they huge.

I'm not being sarcastic when I say it too.
THE BLAST ZONES ARE WAY TOO DAMN HUGE IN KERFUFFLE.

In my opinion in the gameplay dept: Melee > Brawl >=Kerfuffle >= 64 (SSB64 is lacking in terms of moves, although its still so much fun)
Although, while Kerfuffle is amazing, and packed with content...something feels like its missing. The love and craft into the game is all there and its really fun! Although, Kerfuffle still disappoints. It's worth mentioning defensive play isn't as bad as it was in Brawl, but the end and starting lag to some moves for a few characters really makes thing a little rough.

In terms of content...: Brawl > Kerfuffle > Melee > 64.

Brawl and Kerfuffle come incredibly close to the same amount of content, but Brawl has the Subspace Emissary. Melee and Smash 64 don't need to be discussed.

If I had to space my opinion on the music of each game...: Brawl >= Melee > Kerfuffle > 64.

Brawl had a god damn amazing soundtrack. Literally every piece was so damn amazing. I feel the same with Melee too, even if the soundtrack is limited. There really is some music in that game that sticks with you. Especially Melee's Menu V2. I love that theme, in fact, it's my preset on Kerfuffle!

Here's my problem with Kerfuffle's soundtrack. There is some amazing music in the game, there truly is! Although, it still disappoints. I couldn't believe how awful the Final Destination music was in Kerfuffle. Final Destination V2 in Kerfuffle plays over V1 on my copy, but that one is only marginally better. Brawl and Melee's FD music play over them.
Some music that I was looking forward to being brought back, such as Dedede's theme was incredibly butchered. Holy crap, was I disappointed hearing that track.

Although, music definitely doesn't lead my opinion on Kerfuffle. Besides, I have the option to listen to the older games music! I was just slightly disappointed in hearing some of the themes. Yet, there is a lot of other awesome music too. Super Mario World's remix is incredibly nostalgic and hits every point. It's a joy to listen to, to be honest.

To conclude my thoughts, despite my issues with Kerfuffle, I'm really having a blast. I've been playing locally with my brother and I also have a few friends coming over too. My main issues included were the gameplay, and the OST. The gameplay is undeniably, the worst offender....and second being the music. While it's great, but not amazing. I honestly expected more from the fourth Smash Bros. in terms of music.
Hopefully some balance, stage, and gameplay patches are in order. There are characters who absolutely got nerfed for no apparent reason (Link and Pikachu for example), every stages blast zones are way too damn large, and gameplay is severely limited compared to Melee and even Brawl with my reasonings as eng lag, start up lag, defensive combat as a reward, and nearly to absolutely no combo's or chain linking (not thinking infinite juggles here).

Hopefully Super Smash Bros. 5 takes what the core fans really want and makes it even better. I will still have my doubts, unfortunately. Unless for Smash Bros. 5 Sakurai (if still working on Smash at this point, as he is fatigued with the series) announces what the gameplay will be based off of, I will have to keep my hype limited.

My official ranking for Smash Bros. series is...: Melee > Brawl >= Kerfuffle > 64 (only the lowest because limitation on characters, stages, and moves. Gameplay is still pretty high up there.)

i can't get the wii u version, i have a 360 and the only reason my parents will let me buy the 3ds is with my own money (i can't even ask for it for christmas!)

It's fantastic and great and it's not at all a side attraction like people keep insisting it is. It's straight up Smash Bros on a handheld system. I swear it's good and is worth your time.

Wii U version is guaranteed to be considered the superior version of the game, but that doesn't make the 3DS version any less stellar than it is. Get both versions if you can.
