Aretis: *goes back to Firefly* Uh, here. *takes out a diamond and a tendril of light from Aretis's gem pours into the diamond* *stops* *diamond pulses light every few seconds with a soothing light* *aretis blushes* H-here's a gift. Thank you. I-I'm not sure if we'd see each other again, but thanks. *turns to leave*

Firefly: *holds diamond, looks at it, eyes wide, smiles* its pretty. thanks.
Flash: *looks at it* ooh! sparkly! shiney! *reaches out to grab it*
Firefly: Flash, don't break it! look but don't touch!
Flash: ok, alright! no touching! *smiles and stares at diamond*

Aretis: *blushes* it won't break easily. It is diamond after all. Second hardest substance next to dragonscales. *smiles* It'll glow light forever, but it needs some source of light nearby to work. If it's in darkness for too long, the light will slowly grow dimmer and dimmer till it fades. But it will revive itself once it's back in light. *explains*

Firefly: oh, cool. that's really neat. *thinks of something* i think i may have somethiner for you. Flash, hold this, carefully, don't drop it or anything.
Flash: *takes the diamond* but he said it won't--
Firefly: *sighs* just hold it.
Flash: fine. guess i'm a table or bag today.
Firefly: whatever. *gets out an old scale that is a bit dull in color compared to her new scales.* here. it may not look like much, but watch this. *touches center of the scale with her paw. it glows a light blue* see? it can change colors depending on your mood, like a mood ring or something, but it won't break as easily, and will always work. it works because its an Empath scale. Empath dragons can naturally sense the moods and feelings of others. *hands him the scale*
Flash: neato. why don't i get one?

Aretis: *takes scale* *turns a swirled mix of red and black* *blushes* Th-thank you...

Firefly: *smiles* your welcome.
Flash: seriously, though, where's mine?
Firefly: *sighs. gets out another scale* here, trade you. *hands him scale and takes the diamond*
Flash: *scale turns orange when he takes it* sweet! orange! it matches me! *grins*

Aretis: *tucks scale inside one of his own scales, securing it tightly* *without a word, turns to leave*

Flash: *plays around with the scale like its a toy*
Firefly: *is looking at the diamond, then looks at him* Flash, that's not a toy!
Flash: yes, it is! see? look! it changes colors like a chameleon! its so cool!
Firefly: *sighs, rolls eyes*

Aretis: *walks away* *looks back once* At least they have each other... *thought* *mind snaps alert* Oh no! I got to go now! *rushes toward the edge of town, flying*

ooc: this putting action in ** isn't really working out for me. Do you mind if I just rp like I normally do?

ooc: no, not at all. do whatever you like.

Flash: *is goofing off and playing around with the scale* ooh! look! it sparkles and shines and changes color and is really cool and pretty!
Firefly: and you are really wierd, child-like, and a bit annoying. *sighs, and rolls eyes*

ooc: thanks.

Aretis could feel their presence coming. He rushed out of town changing himself into light and zooming a few miles outside the city. Aretis transformed back then collapsed exhausted from the magic use. He still wasn't ready for long distance magic travel like that. A dark cloud headed for his position. Aretis growled.

ooc: no problem.

Slean: *finishes chanting, and her lair teleports to its oringinal location*
Rouge: finally, we're done. it did work, right?
Slean: of course it did. i cast the spell the way it should be.
Rouge: great. so can i go now?
Slean: what's the rush?
Rouge: i'm bored! there's, like, nothing to do here.
Slean: *sighs* very well. do what you like.
Rouge: sweet! thanks, Mom! see ya! *teleports away*

A dark ball sparking with black electricity bore down from the cloud onto Aretis. Aretis leaped and flipped out of the way. It exploded leaving a crater with a weird looking meteorite. More of them fired. Aretis dodged and quickly smashed the first meteorite with a light blast. He dodged more exploding meteors and tried to destroy them, but there were way too many. Slowly, the meteors cracked open, and shadowy things came out. The world seemed to darken around them and they glowed with dark aura. Aretis found himself surrounded by these things.

Rouge had teleported near Firefly and Flash. she noticed they were hlding things, and walked up to them.
"hey, guys, what's up?" she asked. they looked at her funny.
"yo, red, since when did we become friends with the little poison dragon?" Flash asked.
"never, as far as i remember." Friefly muttered.
"i can hear you, you know." Rouge sneered.
"well, i don't--" Firefly paused suddenly, mid-sentence.
"what is it?" Flash asked.
"i'm sensing....... something......" she muttered, a dark aura surrounded her.
"woah! what the heck?!" Flash gasped.
"Empathy, right? you sense trouble?" Rouge asked. Firefly nodded slightly.
"trouble with a capital 'T'. i think Aretis is in danger."
"the new kid? we gotta help him!" Flash said.
"just give me a location and i can teleport you guys there." Rouge said.

One lunged. Aretis parried the blow and then whipped his tail around and smacked it. He was sent flying. Others started piling ontop of Aretis. Aretis growled and light suddenly burst all around him throwing everyone off. An armor of light surrounded Aretis now, making twin blades on his tail, extra long light claws and armor all over him. Aretis rushed into the fray. More bombs were being dropped from the dark cloud. Dreadwings started flying down aiming for Aretis. Aretis fought hard taking monster after monster per second, trying to destroy the meteors before they released a horde of more monsters. Aretis growled and shot an earth missle combined with light. It made a huge explosion and took out a lot of the monsters. But more streamed in after him. Aretis rushed to meet them.

Rouge grabbed Firefly and Flash and teleported to the scene.
"woah! yikes! look out!" they all cried out, trying to dodge the monsters that rushed passed them, and the meteors and explosions.
"what are those things?!" Flash gasped, pointing.
"i don't know, and i don't think i want to find out..." Firefly muttered.
"they're obviously evil, lets go!" Rouge said. she then rushed into battle. she became invisible and created several clones of herself. she attacked with acid sprays and ice shards.
"guess there's nothing to it but to do it!" Flash said. he then got out a tiny knife. "come and get me, you bunch of overgrown, ugly, creeps!" he yelled, rushing into battle. Firefly then glowed green, channeling Rouge's powers.
"ok, bring it on, monsters!" she snarled, now rushing into battle. she became invisible, created clones of herself, and attacked with ice and poison.

Scores of monsters already lay dead, but once they died, they simply disappeared. Aretis shot out a huge light beam, enevloping half of the monsters and instantly incinerating them. Aretis growled and leaped into the air, ready for air combat with the Dreadwings that now zoomed at him from above. Aretis glimpsed the dark cloud dropping 20 giant meteors. "Oh no...not now...." Aretis breathed, recognizing what they were.

Firefly and Rouge continued fighting, working together, fighting almost as one, what with Firefly being able to copy everything that Rouge did. Flash flew around them, trying to help, but really only getting in the way and making a good distraction for the enemy.

Aretis focused in and slashed one of the dreadwings. The others circled Aretis and started attacking. Aretis quickly dodged. Aretis swung his twin-bladed tail and felled many of them. Aretis rushed over to destroy the 20 giant ones, but it was too late. They all cracked open at once. 20 fully grown dragons, all with blacker than black scales and glowing red eyes came out. Aretis stopped and swerved once he saw them open. "Why so many..." He muttered to himself. He rushed over to Rogue and Firefly and Flash. "Enough fighting. GET OUTA HERE!" He shouted. Aretis sped away from the battlefield. the 20 dragons opened masssive wings and presued Aretis.

Flash's eyes widened at the dragons.
"gah! Rouge, Firefly, we gotta go, like, NOW!" he yelled, flying away at top speed.
"yikes! time to go!" Firefly cried out, flying after him.
"what's the rush?" Rouge wondered. she then turned around to see a dragon right behind her. "oh, i see...." she muttered. "hehe, see ya!" she grinned, and then teleported away. she reappeared beside Firefly and Flash. she then grabbed them, and teleported to Aretis. "need a lift?" she asked, ready to teleport again.

Aretis shook his head. "No. If you teleport me, they'll still follow. There's no time to explain, just leave. Just say that I'm a homing device and those dragon's can track me down practically everywhere. I can't let you guys or the Ice Kingdom be hurt because of my mistake. GO NOW!! I'll be fine!" Aretis desperately tried to convince them to go. He saw the dark dragons gaining on them. Aretis yelled and a wall of light appeared infront of the dark dragons. The dark dragons stopped for just a second, then shot missiles of dark energy at the barrier, shattering it. Aretis bought very little time, and that wall wasted a lot of energy. Aretis flew on.

although Firefly and Flash were refusing to leave Aretis behind, Rouge grabbed them and teleported back to the Ice Kingdom.

Aretis nodded. "My stars this is gonna be a close one." He muttered to himself. He dived and used earth element and burrowed through the ground at high speed. The twenty dark dragons kept following him. But they stayed above ground knowing he'd have to pop up sooner or later.

Rouge had to hold Firefly back, just to keep her from rushing off to help Aretis. Flash was worried, but managed to keep himself from bolting.

Underground, Aretis split off into three Aretis's, all with the same energy signature, since the twenty dragons tracked by energy. They seperated, then branched off. The triple Aretis's suddenly split into two, so now there were six Aretis's with the same energy. The twenty split up in pairs of 3 and 4. The real Aretis kept splitting himself until he was completely drained of any light energy left. With only his earth energy to survive on, Aretis slowed down to a stop. He went into a type of hibernation mode where he became almost dead. In his time there, he'd slowly regain his former strength. The downside...Aretis won't wake up until at least 4 years later or somewhere around that unless he is reunited with at the very least, 7 Aretis clones.


There were now 30 Aretis's scattered around the globe. But none of them were the real ones. The twenty dragons had split up one by one. All 30 Aretis's began absorbing light. Their energy like homing beacons now.

Little did Aretis know, that that was exactly what one particular dragon wanted. He was Krath, one of the twenty dark leaders that invaded Aretis's homeland and wiped out all the light dragons. Krath silently made his way to where Aretis was buried underground.

"we should be helping him!" Firefly insisted, trying to break free from Rouge's grasp.
"he said not to, though!"
"but he--" Firefly grunted, finally freeing herself. then suddenly, her feet were frozen, thanks to Rouge. soon all but Firefly's head was frozen. "what are you doing?!"
"keeping you from getting yourself killed." Rouge replied.

Tundra: Dad the lair is...... uhh...* he said as he saw they werent in the ice kingdom anylonger.* Hmmm nevermind.... but we got to head home we aint in the ice kingdom any longer see? *points towards the outside*

Glacier: *looks outside* oh, i see...... Slean must have moved it.....
Slean: *walks up to them* because it didn't belong next to your kingdom.
Glacier: well, i didn't hear any complaints from the neighbors.
Slean: Glacier, you were my neighbor.
Glacier: *grins* exactly my point.
Slean: *looks confused* you make no sense sometimes...

Tundra: *nods his head at slean* mom sometimes you dont get what one says sometimes... anyways do you happen to know where rouge went off too?

Ooc: hey cyn I'll be back I'm at work, ill be back in an hour.

ooc: oh, ok.

Slean: *sighs* i'm afraid not. she teleported off somewhere once the lair was moved. she seemed to be in a hurry to leave.
Glacier: and why is that?
Slean: she said she was bored. apparently listening to me chant isn't fun for her.
Glacier: where do you think she might be?
Slean: anywhere but here.
Glacier: well, that certainly narrows it down. *sarcasm*
Slean: look, she didn't tell me where she was going, and i didn't bother to ask. besides, i could always track her through the vision pool if i need to.

ooc: ok, i finally found the time to write more. sorry that it takes so long, but i get busy with school work. i'm on my last year of high school, and i need to work and finish everything. but i managed to find time to write this. its kinda short, but its something at least.

Chapter 88: Taking Control

Slean sat in her throne room, her eyes closed. she seemed to be concentrating on something. then the double-doors opened, and someone walked into the room.
"Mom, i hate to interrupt but--"
"i know, Rouge. i saw everything." Slean said, opening her eyes. Rouge looked confused.
"you saw my kidnapping?"
"yes, and the plan to corrupt you. but now you are home."
"how? you don't have visions."
"i do now. i took powers from the young dragons, Zanna and Tynan. i now posses visions, and the elements of shadow and wind."
"and what about the dragons? where are they now?"
"unconcious in the dungeuon. they are of use to me now, and i ordered Murkvenom to kill them. then thier powers will be permanently mine."
"but what about the gaurdians?"
"once they have served thier purpose, i will drain thier powers as well, not only gaining more elements, but increasing the power of the ones i already posses." she said. then someone else walked into the room, now standing beside Rouge. "ah, Murkvenom. what is the report?"
"the arctic region and the forrest have been covered in darkness. Aisha and the ice dragons are on thier way to the ice kingdom now."
"hmm. what of Zanna and Tynan?"
"unconcious still, my queen."
"then that is your next assignment. now, what of the other gaurdians? how goes thier search?"
"very well. they are eliminating beings of good as we speak."
"good. anything else to report?"
"yes, ma'am. the young red dragon and her pest have been seen scouting the land by air. Polaris and Tundra also search seperately. i believe they look for Rouge."
"hmm. i see. then, Rouge, i want you to go greet them, any of them. let them find you, and take you back to thier kingdom, but don't let them know this is part of our plan. i want you to make sure that the ice kingdom is corrupted. even if the king and his son can not be corrupted, everyone else shall be. once that is done, i want you to stay there, Rouge, lock up the king, the prince, little red, and that little pest, and make sure they do not interfere with our plans. then as i control this lair, you shall be in charge of the ice kingdom, and together we shall successfully finish our plans." Slean said with an evil grin.

Tundra: Ok well she probably head towards our home, I'll see ya later mom and dad. Plus you and mom could use some quality time together, I know dad wants to be with you. *he said winking at slean as he took flight towards the ice kingdom.*

OOC: Finally another chapter yay!!! lol i miss you writing again cyn.

ooc: yeah, sorry. i get busy. i know it takes a while, but i'm not going to quit writing this story. i just wish i wasn't so busy with other things all the time.

Slean: *huffs* i have work to do. *turns to walk deeper into her lair*
Glacier: like, what kind of work? *follows her*
Slean: the kind that does not require being follow by an old fool. *picks up the pace*

Rouge: *is at the ice kingdom* now, stay put.
Firefly: Rouge, you froze me. how could i possibly move?
Rouge: well, you were about to run off and help whats-his-name, and he said not to, so you're staying here.
Flash: but do we have to stay in this particular room? i'm hungry!

Tundra: Hmmm wonder what rouge is doing. *he said as he quickly approached the city soon seeing it in his sights.* I wonder if mom knows she doesnt live far from where we live?

Glacier: i could still help. *follows Slean*
Slean: oh, really? would you be willing to help destroy the world or corrupt it, or something?
Glacier: well, no, but..... wait, i thought you wern't going to do that.....? Slean, what are you planning...?
Slean: nothing that concerns you. my plans are my own business, not yours, and i could work much better without you here. *disappears into darkness*
Glacier: *stops and sighs* should've known she would do that...

Rouge: fine, go eat. *sighs*
Flash: whoo! lunch time! *flies away*
Firefly: great. now, i'm stuck here with you.

Tundra: *arrives to his home temple eventually after seeing rouge and firefly frozen* Rouge?! what are you doing? And why is firefly here?

Rouge: *sighs* long story short, whats-his-name got into trouble, i teleported to little red to see what was up, then suddenly she sense danger, so we teleport to whats-his-name, fight off a few monsters, and then he tells us to leave, so i grab little red and the pest, and teleport back here, but red insists on going back, in which case i froze her. oh, and the pest went to get food.
Firefly: can't you remember anyone's names? i'm Firefly, the so-called pest is Flash, and Aretis was the dragon we were helping, until it was your selfish idea to come back here.
Rouge: he said to leave. am i the only one that heard that part?

Tundra: *Walks up to them shaking his head as he tried to think on what to do.* Alright, we know rouge has name remembering issues..., but we also know firefly has a tendonsy to not hear sometimes. Now what am I going to do with both of you? hmm I never thought I'd ever say that to two girls in my life....

Rouge: me? what about her? she's the one with the death wish!
Firefly: it is not a death wish! its a-- oh, nevermind! evil could never understand!
Rouge: *turns sharply* what did you say?
Firefly: you heard me. you seem to hear everything, remember? i said you were evil. that's the only reason you would leave someone behind. because good doesn't turn thier back on others!
Rouge: i am not evil! i am neutral! i saved your but, didn't i?
Firefly: but you left someone behind!
Rouge: he said to leave!
Firefly: so, you listen to him?! being good isn't about taking orders, its about helping innocents, something you fail at doing!
Rouge: he had a good reason for wanting us to leave! he said they could track him! they would just keep coming until they got him, so he told us to leave! at least i was using my head!
Firefly: oh, yeah? well, try using your heart next time! or do you even have one?! i bet your mom probally found some evil ritual to get rid of it!
Rouge: *just hisses, and spits acid to the left of her, just barely missing, then storms off*

Tundra: *Growls angerly at firefly* Rouge stay put! *he said angerly as if in he wasnt joking*

Rouge: *turns around, looking angry and sad at the same time* and why should i?! its obvious i'm only thought of as evil! i'm just Slean's daughter, princess of darkness, and that's all i'll ever be! once you're thought of as evil, that's how everyone thinks of you, and no matter what you do, you'll always be evil to everyone else! well, you know what, i'm done with this! i'm sick of all this judgemental crap! you don't want me around, fine! its not like this place would ever feel like home anyway! *teleports away*

Tundra: Rouge wait!!!..... *he runs after her and misses her, he then turns around and glares at firefly* Why did you tell her that?! You didnt have to be mean to her, if she was truely evil then she would've killed you, flash and aretis when she had the chance too! So what I'm her brother, does that automatcially make me evil firefly?! HUH? DOES IT!!!! *he growled angerly at her.*

Firefly: may i remind you that i'm an Empath and can sense things. i know the others are thinking that. who here hasn't? she was raised to be evil, and we know she does rituals to enhance her dark side. no one trusts her, Tundra. they don't know whose side she's on, and they suspect she's evil. she doesn't belong here. she's not normal. heck, she froze me. normal dragons would not freeze someone just to keep them from going somewhere. she has a dark side, whether you want to admit it or not.
*then there was a loud roar as heavy footsteps headed thier way. a large figure stood in the doorway*
???: now, i'm curious as to why my daughter looked so upset when i saw her teleport to Slean's lair. she mentioned something about a red dragoness, and stormed off, eyes watery. i don't know what happened, but dang it, someone had better start explaining. *growls*
Firefly: *looks, gulps. thinks* King Glacier....... crap, he knows....... and he's ticked.....

Tundra: Yeah I should've froze your mouth while she was at it too. *he said to her as he turned around to see his dad.* Hey dad, um lets just say my friend here had a little arguement with rouge..... *he said looking at her, trying to tell her to follow his lead.*

Glacier: continue. *snarls*
Firefly: *sighs* we had a little fight...... and some things...... were said..... *quietly*
Glacier: Rouge looked pretty upset when i saw her. she is not likely to get upset easily. what things were said exactly?
Firefly: there was..... this incident...... we tried to help a fried of ours, the light dragon, Aretis, but..... he didn't want our help, and he said to leave, so Rouge just teleported us away without him........ i wanted to go back, which is why she froze me....... like i said, we got into a fight, over what we should have done, and......... i sad that only evil would turn thier back on someone......... i said she was heartless for leaving him........ *mutters*
Glacier: *growls* that was rather harsh and hurtful.
Firefly: but it is somewhat true, i mean, the others thought that, and i sensed it, and--
Glacier: silence! *growls* i do not want to hear another word about my daughter being evil, good, neutral, or anything else of the sort. she is what she claims herself to be. now, you, Firefly, are to apoligize to her, and take everything back that you said. you will get on your knees and beg like a dog if you have to, but you will apoligize, and you will mean it. and if i see my little girl upset like that again.... *growls* .....you will not have the priviledge of coming back to this kingdom...

Tundra: *looked at his dad oddly, he never saw him like this before.* Dad ok, I agree that firefly messed up, but we dont have to ban her, its not our way dad. I dont like what she said either but we cant ban her for a misunderstanding. Let me take care of this." *He said to his dad standing up to him*

Glacier: *grumbles, growls slightly, thinks a moment. looks away slightly* i suppose i am being a tad too protective...... *sighs* perhaps i should go before i loose my temper...... *looks at Tundra* Tundra, i trust you with this....... i will be visiting Rouge, if anyone needs me...... *turns to leave, pauses, looks back breifly. then walks away*
Firefly: *sighs a bit with relief*

Tundra: Consider yourself lucky..... Now lets go I hope rouge is ok, i'm getting tired of flying back and fourth between her home and mine just for some small things, oh and by the way you better hope rouge doesnt see her mom before we do, because if that happens well....lets just say i'll think about it twice before i react in helping you..... *he said to her as he broke the ice on firefly with the touch of his paw on her.

Firefly: *shivers slightly at the thought of an angered Slean* yikes..... and i thought an angry dad was bad enough....... i hope she hasn't mentioned anything to anyone else.....

Glacier: *soon arrives at Slean's lair, and runs into her first*
Slean: back so soon? you couldn't give me a longer break?
Glacier: contrary to popular belief, you are not the only here that i like to visit.
Slean: oh? come to see Rouge, have you? i did not see her return.
Glacier: well, i did. i ran into her before i left. i came to check up on her.
Slean: you did? why? she is fine as far as i know.
Glacier: *sighs. doesn't know what to tell her, if anything*

Rouge: *is in her room, door locked, laying down, crying*

Tundra: Come on and lets be quick about this. *he told her as he spreaded his wings and took off towards sleans lair.*
