Nurbs are still a thing in Maya and that is one way to go about it. I just wasn't entirely sure how to set it up with multiple circles and liked having it more uniform in distance between edge loops in the way I went with it.

I'd say it'd be fine to understand what you're doing and not feel overwhelmed. It may take a bit of stumbling in forgetting where things are and accidentally hitting wrong buttons out of muscle-memory from other programs, but it should still be easier than going into it blind. I'd worked in 3DS Max in High School and done a little with Blender before college threw Maya at me. So I knew a good chunk of what the program could do, but there was the issue of relearning where it all is. You may have some trouble with texturing as it is nothing like what I remember Blender being. Personally, I don't even do texturing or rendering in Maya, just use it to do the modeling itself and set up UVs.

Thanks to wanting to do a full colored picture and being sick af (got working medicine btw) I have been working on my sort of Demonic Goat Kirin, Lucifer for a little shading/lighting idea I had.

Wasn't able to get to sleep tonight so I decided to just do a couple random scribbles. I know this is nothing and meaningless but I just felt like sharing it idk I had fun, the only time I truly enjoy art to the fullest is when I'm messing around and drawing stupid **** because I know I'm not taking it seriously so I don't get mad at myself for being bad lol

Also there was a penis drawn too but I removed it before I uploaded it for obvious reasons
