I was shocked that my TRU had a Sonic amiibo sitting behind a locked case. I'm glad they got smart and locked up these ones instead of putting them out for the same clown to clear out the shelf.

That is handy Eggers. I saved up and now I can get Luigi, I decided to get him before I got Sheik and Sonic because the SMB line will be out soon and I don't want Luigi to be replaced by the SMB one as I am collecting only Smash Line + Toad and Gold Mario.

I walked into a Bestbuy yesterday looking for amiibos, and as I walked into the amiibo section, I saw a man holding several different amiibos that included 2 Sonics. I quickly look at all the pegs in the section and see no more Sonics left. So I say I wish I could've gotten a Sonic him, and he replied, "Do you need one? You can have one of these." I gladly said thank you to him and got to purchase it. I'm glad to know there are still amazing people in this world.

Not sure how that only is supporting scalping. Releasing it anywhere, even in all countries encourages scalping...



But by releasing stock exclusively to America, it guarantees that people from different countries will be resorting to eBay for him, causing the value to fluctuate.

Even if he's easy to get on his release date (not too likely), he'll still be more valuable specifically because the international audience (UK, Australia, Japan, Canada) will almost definitely be "forced" to pay extra.


Even if another area gets him eventually, the US version will potentially retain its value.

Yeah Gold Mario sold out in Nintendo World relatively soon too. Of all the amiibo they got (Gold Mario, Lucario, Meta Knight, Rosalina, Shulk, and Mario line) he was the only one to actually sell out.

Apparently even now they're still taking out boxes of Meta Knight, despite the line being pretty much gone by the time I left the store. It's as if they bought all of Best Buy's stock.

Every walmart I've called in my city (which is ALOT) told me they sold out of gold mario within minutes, mostly right at midnight. 2 or 3 however didn't even know what I was talking about and didn't find anything in their inventory, so it's safe to assume my city is out of them.

Here's my Gold Mario! I found 2 of them at my Walmart behind the glass this morning. I wanted to get both. (One to open and one to keep sealed) But they told me it was 1 per person.

They've had no Ike since it released lol. Stores only got enough for preorders, but he's coming in Summer also to Toys R Us apparently.

I found him at a far out TRU on launch day. I guess I got super lucky.
