"We have to go-- it is no longer safe for us here.," Sayan said being purposely vague as to not inform any eavesdroppers. He had a rather serious look to him.

"I will go to Sozen and tell him. He needs to know about this." Cole said, preparing to fly off and unaware that Sozen was at Hunted island too.

"Well well well she finally turned huh? Tell me did she kill anyone?" Shadow said. "Never mind. If she's gone then there is no reason to keep your friend alive huh?" Sgadow said turning to Whirlpool.

Sybil whispered a weak, small no, as she saw the wombat. He, who was so gentle, helpful and noble, and was the first one being threatened.
"Shadow! This is crazy! He hasn't done anything to you!" Sybil yelled, being now both furious and terrified. But Whirlpool was just lowering his head, having lost his will to live. He believed all of that was his fault, because he didn't have enough malice to see through those Komodo dragon's disguise. He was the cause of all that, and now the dragons were going to take on both islands and make everyone miserable because of his foolishness.

Sybil was growing desperate. She couldn't believe that, even after that, Shadow was still insistent on having Rose.
"Come on! You must want something else! Rose could be very far by now. Name it, please! Just leave Whirlpool alone!"Sybil said anxiously, now willing to do anything to save the poor wombat. But he wasn't willing to allow Sybil reach such drastic measure.
"No... Sybi... me no...nothing..." Whirlpool said, trying to make her forget about him, but the civet simply ignored him. Even surrounded by all those Komodo dragons, sharks, and one huge creature that she had never seen before, she still tried to have courage.

Sybil didn't want any harm to befall Whirlpool, but she didn't want to sell off Rose either, so thinking fast as she always did in those situations, she spoke.
"I told you! I banished her! She could be anywhere on the island right now! Or who knows if she left the island altogether!" Sybil explained, trying very hard to convince Shadow to give up that sick obsession and spare Whirlpool.

ooc: okay oh by the way they didn't tie him to anything so with enough work he can position himself to pick up the knife but ok lets for he attacked and is trying to get himself free still

Crocux stayed out of the way and waited for them.

OOC: Man, this is the trouble with struggling in any RP. It's hard to accept each others's actions in the situation

At the Haven, Mambo was done warning the flock, though they already knew. They were all preparing the pebbles and big seeds they have gathered to go to Hunted island and attack, though many of them were fearful for Sybil being there. What was she thinking?
"That's it! We are all doomed. Why did that stupid civet had to go there in plain invasion?" Cheryl asked bitterly, not comprehending why anyone would go to the heart of an invasion if you couldn't fight an army by yourself. Mambo almost scolded her, but knew she had a point.
"Cheryl. You stay here in case we need reinforcements. Or better yet, your brother is with Sayan. See if you can help him with Rose." he said, leaving for Cheryl to decide.

"I wouldn't have... if her attacks weren't becoming that extreme. I had to. It was getting out of control." Sybil explained, still trying to sound convincing.
"Please, I mean it this time. I'll do what you want. I'll take on your previous offer." she said again, just wanting to save Whirlpool from that terrifying grip. The poor wombat still tried to talk her out of it, but he was being held on tighter, so he couldn't speak.

Sybil's plans was to have Rose sent to the outback and have the dingo's protection, but if Shadow was going to keep an eye on her, that was going to be impossible. Like before, all she did was pray for Sayan to find out about Shadow and hide her where the Komodo could never find her. But for now, she accomplished her objective of having Whirlpool safe... but at a terrible price. She remained silent, waiting for Shadow to decide what to do with the both of them, since he was probably going to announce his control over the islands now.

"But what about the alarm horn? What if Shadow finds us?" Rose said.

"That's not an option now Rose. The horn was in case Shadow came in by surprise and find you here, but now that we know he's around, staying is not an option. You must leave and hide so where safe, where he can never find you." Cole repeated, knowing that once Shadow and his army arrived, she wouldn't stand a chance.

Whirlpool gave a disappointing glare to Sybil, furious that she took such horrible decision for his sake, when it was his fault everything that was happening. Sybil once again ignored him, knowing that she doomed the islands to a life of misery... but at least Shadow didn't kill anybody, so far. She agreed to go with the captain, but she wasn't going to let herself be touched.

"But we have an army they came to help us! They can stop Shadow!" Rose said.

"Oh you're right. Sybil surrendered... but we didn't. However, you are going to stay in hiding. We won't let Shadow get to you." Cole said, urging Rose to go with Sayan to hide, and even started to untie her vines so that she would leave immediately.

Saris approached the den and said "that's right. we may have lost the battle but the war has only just begun."

Crocux fumed silently then said "Shi go in and get them out. it's to dangerous for wounded to stay here and the last thing we need is for them to come back and take more hostages." Shi nodded and went in. Jack finally cut the bindings and when Shi arrived he nodded in understanding "ok boys, it's not safe here. Dad go with Shi I'll take care of Sunflame." Jack went over to Sunflame and started wheeling him out of the burrow. Guardian moved sluggishly as Shi helped him out. once they were outside Crocux said "I'll take the several to Haven. Sozen I'll trust you to take Dad back home." Shi helped Guardian along "come on daddy. just a little further and then we can go home."

"All the way up to Sozen's cave? I don't think so. Come on miss, you need to move. Those Komodo dragons won't stand the cold, but you will. Besides, they can't trace the smell all the way up there." Cole said, still believing Sozen's cave was the best bet. He was aware that another good hiding place was the outback, but due to both the dingos AND the heat, he didn't want to consider it.

While Sybil was losing all hope, the Haven residents still had the fighting spirit in them. The warblers had no idea where the civet was, but that wasn't going to stop them. With Peepers as their leader, they were ready to fight those reptile filth. Even Yodel, who was so bitter most of the time, was ready to fight for the sake of excitement.

Sholeh was still at her tree, ready to listen to the warblers screeches once the Komodo dragons were nearby. She was fed up with Shadow being so obsessed with control and revenge, and she didn't want to ruin her life again helping him. But while she was there, Warren had other plans in mind. Not knowing that Saris was already at the Haven itself, he called to him.
"Monsieur Saris! Monsieur Saris!" he called, believing it was vital to warn him since his own family could be in danger...

"My lord, why should we let them surrender, without making them suffer for a while first? I have just the idea and target for us. This could even lure the tiger right to you, my lord, but in order for this to work... The Komodo dragon draws closer and whispers in another Komodo dragon's ear. They would need to make it look like a decision was reached between Shadow and Sybil, releasing their hostages and pretending to withdraw. A pair of sharks and Komodos would snatch said target and then the islands' suffering would begin. Shadow could even claim that said target was his price for them leaving," the Komodo tells his comrade with a sinister smile, telling them also what he relayed to his captian before.

Sunflame struggles over to Crocux, climbing slowly onto his back, with much help from Jack. He is extremely weak and his actions drained him even more. His eyes do not even glint as he lays upon Crocux's back, soon falling asleep due to exhaustion.

Sybil glared at the ugly Komodo dragon, not believing what she was hearing. Shadow already had the island, what more did he want? Wasn't Whirlpool and herself enough hostage? She hoped Shadow didn't agree to it...

ooc: Saris is at Haven.

Saris heard Warren and said "Warren I'm over here."

Guardian was on Sozen's back and said "NO Sozen! this isn't your fault, they had a hostage so you couldn't do anything even if you wanted to. right now we need to head back to Haven were it's safe. now lets go." Crocux nodded in agreement. after Sunflame was on his back Jack climbed on and Crocux started walking towards the water.

OOC: I thought he was with Crocux. And when did he returned to the outback?

"Oh, I just thought I'd warn you. This Shadow, this Komodo dragon that terrorized Mademoiselle Sybil and the others have returned... though I suppose you found out some way." Warren explained, not noticing that Saris wasn't at the outback the entire time.

ooc: Saris didn't go back he was at the beach and hearing the commotion at Sayan and Rose's place he went to investigate. Crocux is at Hunted while Saris stayed behind to keep an eye on the Haven.

Saris nodded "yes I already know Warren. after I heard about dad getting hurt I came back strait away and I've been here the whole time. I just hope Crocux didn't run into any trouble."

Saris smiled "from what I was told he wont help Sybil. but Dad isn't Sybil."

ooc: don't forget that Sozen is taking Guardian home

OOC: Well, I didn't catch that bit.

Sybil was having enough of Shadow's obsessive revenge with Rose, so she once again tried to talk him out of it.
"I told you Shadow! I banished her to the outback almost a month ago! She doesn't have any contacts! Whatever you are planning, she won't be able to find out!" Sybil said, hating to get tangled up in that web of lies. She really hoped Rose ran away, since she didn't want to imagine what Shadow would do if he found out that she was lying.

"He arrived too soon! And at night! He's now at Hunted island, and I don't want to imagine what he would do at the Haven." He left out the fact that he worked for him, and if Shadow arrived, Warren feared that he would want him to work for him again.

Saris nodded "yes Warren I already know. Crocux told me to stay here and keep the Haven safe. Sybil, Jet, Sinbad, and Crocux all went to Hunted. all of this happened a while ago so please try to stay calm. our defenses are up, the armor is made, and we have sentries out day and night. now stay calm we wont stand a chance if everyone's in a panic."

"Regardless-- we have to go. No matter what happens-- you need to remain safe and out of the Shadow's grasp.," Sayan said. "We're head to the mountains as cole suggested-- we should be safe there.," he then said agreeing with the kea.

"Come on now! We run. There is no time to waste. Shadow could be on his way to the Haven right now!" Cole urged, wanting everybody to be at the mountain once Shadow arrived. While on their way, Cole threw and broke dry leaves in both Sayan's den and their steps, so that their smell could mask Rose's.

Warren tried to, but he couldn't.
"No you don't understand. Shadow was really hard to defeat the last time. Now we have this drought and the orcas and marine birds have left. He could win this time if he prepared a bigger army!" Warren explained, panicking more. He has stopped calling Shadow by Mosieur now without realizing. He didn't want anything to do with that Komodo dragon anymore, since he never wished any harm to anybody, not even when he was working for him last time.

By that time, Ami was still a bit far off the Haven. Morning was coming, but she continued flying without delays. If she kept that same pacing, she could arrive by late afternoon. She was expecting the islands to be dryer, but if things went on as they did, she could tumble upon something far uglier than that, and what's worse, even if she managed to return to the orcas, it could become too late for the residents.

Sybil remained quiet, but her heart sank when she heard the roar in the distance. She could only hope that Komodo dragon hearing wasn't so good, or at least that he didn't recognized it. Rose was older after all, and even her roar changed from the last time Shadow saw her.

Cole became furious when Rose used the horn.
"Missie! What do you think you're doing!? Shadow could be arriving right about now, and you gave away your position! We created that horn in case of an emergency, not as an alarm! An alarm has already been set!" he scolded, wondering what the heck the tiger was thinking.
"Go ahead, run darn it!" he urged, knowing that it was now going to be harder to hide their tracks if they had the bad luck of Shadow hearing that.

Saris smiled "true but we have an army of komodos of our own, and unlike last time you didn't have me or my family here to help."

ooc: SC don't forget about Guardian since he's on Sozen's back to head to Haven.

Crocux arrived not long after Sozen. once reaching the beach he moved through the opening left open on perpouse in the berracade and waited for Sozen to land. guardian felt uneasy. he heard the roar and he wondered if Sybil was okay.

When Sybil saw that Shadow didn't react to the roar, she was very relieved. However, she was really starting to get feud up with being a prisoner.
"How long do you intend to keep me?" she asked, appreciating freedom too much and feeling useless to her friends in that position. She wanted to try someway to avoid the residents from becoming Shadow's slaves.

"True, but still... we still don't know how better prepared he came this time. He lost the last time, so he could be much better prepared." Warren pointed out, not wanting to imagine the disaster Shadow would cause if he did manage to win the war this time.

"Well if anyone that hasn't been alerted is alerted now." Rose said. She looked to Sayan.

"Well, no matter. We are wasting time here. Come, let's keep moving! Don't stop!" Cole continued urging, feeling they have delayed for too long now.

Sybil remained silent, knowing that she was going to be under Shadow's possession for a long time. She may had no choice but to give up, but the other Haven residents still had a choice...
"Fine. But at least release Whirlpool. He has done nothing. You have me. Isn't that enough?" Sybil said, with Whirlpool furious at her. Now more than ever, he wished to speak fluently. He wanted Sybil to just let those Komodo dragons kill him so that they wouldn't have any way to blackmail her, not to mention that he was still shrouded with guilt for inviting the enemy to the heart of his home.

Cole continued to escort them to Sozen's cave... but then, the kea heard the now too familiar flapping of the big eagle's wings.
"Guys. You continue to head to the mountain. I'll be right back." he said, as he flew upward. Sozen of course, wasn't hard to find, so he immediately went to him.
"Sozen thank goodness sir. It's a good thing you're here. Shadow has arrived, and he'll be no doubt after the young miss Rose. She and Mr. Sayan are down there, walking to your home to protect themselves, but if you can carry them there, we would save precious time." Cole explained, believing he would be more than willing to help.

Guardian and Shi were on his back and said "well Sozen, it looks like Sybil isn't in charge right now so what are yea waiting for? lets get moving!"

Cole didn't know how those two found out, but that didn't matter now.
"It's true. The boss and I saw it. Miss Sybil tried to stop him, but she got captured. It wouldn't surprise me if he plans to use her to conquer the islands." Cole said, having not witness Whirlpool's capture and that things were worse than he thought. He knew that Shadow was probably keeping Sybil alive to blackmail everyone into giving up, but Rose needed to be saved first before rescuing the civet. He knows that was what Sybil would have wanted them all to do.

Guardian nodded "yes I know. and all of whirlpool's patents including myself had to be moved to haven after whirlpool was captuered. all the more reason to move quickly!"

"Wait, the wombat too!?" Cole said in shock, refusing to believe Sybil wasn't the only hostage.
"He's the best doctor we have! Darn it! He must know who he is!" Cole expressed furiously, not believing it was a coincidence that he targeted Whirlpool in particular. He must have known how vital Whirlpool had been in their lives, curing them and saving their lives.
"This is very bad. Shadow must have done some very thorough research this time if he knows who Whirlpool is. His capture puts us at a huge disadvantage." Cole then expressed, wondering how Shadow could have known. Now he too was starting to suspect that somebody either at the Haven or Hunted island had been helping him all along...

"Take Miss Rose first. She's the one who need to hide the most. Mr. Sayan and I will be here trying to eliminate her scent as much as possible while we wait for your return." Cole said, heading to where he left Sayan and Rose.
"Good news miss. Mr. Sozen will carry you to his home. Mr. Sayan, while you wait for him, we will eliminate her traces, both her scent and her paw prints." Cole explained, waiting for Sozen to arrive and carry her away.

As they neared the Haven, Sybil was getting desperate. She tried to delay Shadow somehow.
"So then, you want both islands, even when you have your own, all because you can't let matters go. Then what?" Sybil asked, trying to make some conversation while at the same time trying to get ahold of Shadow's plans for the future.

"Well, nothing in life is perfect." Sybil said as she held on, almost trying to taunt him. She knew that through the deal, she had to serve him to keep Whirlpool safe, but if someone finally had a chance to kill that dragon, she wasn't going to interfere. He has been the first animal that Sybil hated enough to wish his death.

"Come on. We have work to do." Cole said to Sayan, proceeding to erase any trace that the tiger was ever there.

The warblers at the Haven saw Shadow approaching, and they all just stood there after they saw he had Sybil. The sun was appearing in the horizon, and it didn't looked beautiful at all with that invasive army approaching. Sybil wondered what would happen then. Would they try to attack? Try to talk? What will happen? She didn't even see Sozen flying away...

As they cleared up the scent, Cole noticed that there was an eerie silence all around the forest. An elderly warbler approached him and Sayan and gave him the news.
"He's here. Shadow's here... with Sybil." she said, having the voiced passed on from the shore to the forest itself. They were many warblers after all, and nothing was kept secret for long. Cole for once, was very relieved that Sozen took Rose away, since they wouldn't have made it in time up the mountain without Shadow seeing them climbing it, but now that Shadow was there, they had to work faster to eliminate the trace.

"You know how pointless this is Shadow. The Haven residents won't go without a fight." Sybil said, trusting that they will go according to plan, even if she was under his mercy.
