You know, what I really find funny is that back in the days of my original account, making an alt would get you Ripto'd immediately, unless there was something wrong with your main account. Now, people are doing it left and right without so much as a Gnorc.

Well, it's a ***** to check IP addresses for one. You have to find where both of the accounts posted, and half the time they don't post in the section that mods moderate in. All the mods and dark have talking about an easier way to check IP addresses, but until that processes comes to fruition, it's going to continue to be hard to do.

Ah, I see. The site wasn't very populated back then compared to how it is now, so it was much easier. I understand.

Uh, during your olden days the only people who made alt accounts were A) previously banned, B) guests making actual accounts because they were in trouble with dark, or C) skating on such thin ice to begin with it just gave dark excuse to finally give them the axe. I have figured out a few alts and shamed the users into abandoning them, either in public or private. But JCW said, dark put up a LOT of red tape that makes identifying alts impossible, especially if you use a proxy and make a concerted effort NOT to reveal who you actually are. ;>.>

I don't ever recall this site being family friendly. Any site that allows you say language without being banned and post videos with language and violent content without being banned isn't a site i'd call family friendly.

I mostly agree. But I should probably note that many of the people that are too young to experience this stuff don't usually hang around in this section.

There's more emphasis nowadays on being family friendly since Skylanders has brought a bunch users that are younger than the average 12-14 year olds that used to hang around here. I understand the mods' concerns of one of those users stumbling into here only to find a thread about pissing (which btw I don't think a pee thread is where this issue should really have come to light).

The question then is just how likely is it that one of those users would decide to come here? It's been well established since the first game's release that they don't care about any of the other sections of the forum and the few that do are old enough to handle this (for the most part).
