At this point I'm ready to go on record and claim that Call of Duty is not only not overrated, but even underrated because of the sheer mountains of unwarranted hate that it gets.

Seriously guys, things like Duck Dynasty and Miley Cyrus are pretty much notorious for being hated on to begin with. Claiming that it's overrated implies that there are loads of people out there that like it (has anybody seriously heard about Duck Dynasty until the recent stupid controversy about one of its stars?). It's really starting to look like a lot of people on this site just look at something that's popular and hate it as if to feel like they're different from the rest of mainstream culture.

I know. But, there was only like, two people who said her.

CoD is, objectively, a good game. Handles really well and, for its gameplay style, executes it superbly. I lack the dexterity to play it (and all FPS games) well, and that's why I don't like it. But I don't run around the internet screaming COD SUX IT'S ALL THE SAME. Because the games are good. Just not my thing. <.<

The people who actually feel strongly about their opposing opinion to the popular often don't publicly express it, here. People may have developed arguments, but they're not going to express them in the fear, or distaste, of conflict in general--many "social outcasts" are also like this, even on forums.

@CoD: I find it interesting how people like to point out that "they are all the same" while apparently being unaware of, or ignorant, of the fact that many of the most famous video game series do the same thing. You don't see many people ranting about how Mario is pretty much more or less the same each time. There's other things issues in the CoD series that can be spoken about. most likely, other than the popular it "all being the same", of course---not everyone who dislikes the series does this!

I can understand the dislike of the fanbase of CoD, and dislike of the hatebase of it, but even those tend to be covered in endless stereotypes.

^That may contribute to it. If you expand it and say that CoD is probably the main reason Xbox Live has some of the negative stereotypes it has. Most Halo matches I saw are very peaceful by comparison. <.>

Ok, I know a ton of people (personally) who play CoD online and they're all idiots. I've played the game a couple of times, it's not really as good as the fanboys make it out to be, but I don't hate it. It's what the people do with it that I hate, really. People endlessly going off about who they got this kill streak, or they made some kid cry, or whatever. It just tears on you when you're in the same category as them and all they do is that stuff. Most of them only play multiplayer, completely disregarding the rest of the game.

I'm gonna say Mario. I don't exactly hate, Mario, I enjoy playing his games, but it's how much attention Nintendo gives it. They should make a new installment for a franchise that hasn't had a game in awhile, like Star Fox or Earthbound. But, Nintendo feels that they have to release like twenty Mario games each year. They're usually not even that different then the previous, just levels they tweaked a little and one or two new power ups thrown in.
