I would say this advice is random and/or regional.
I've visited a few Best Buy over the past few weeks, and seen no evidence of Wave 2 Giants stock .... or any other new stock, to be honest. Out of all the "big box" USA retailers, Best Buy seems to be taking the biggest vacation from Skylanders stocking for the time being.

Your Mileage May Vary for sure on this advice.
Some Target salespeople will "check the back" for you, but I've found that most are either instructed to not do that, or they're too lazy or busy to do it.
Regardless, if a random Target store had a S2 Bash "in the back", then you scored big time in my opinion. There's no signs (yet at least) that a new assortment box is being shipped or shelved in the US, so until we do see confirmation of that, any S2 Bash lying around "in the back" of a Target right now are leftovers from December/January or returned items that didn't get re-shelved for some reason.

Have to agree. Based on what I have seen in my local stores and on Amazon and eBay, I have to conclude that S2 Bash is pretty rare at the moment. I'm sure his price will drop again someday, though.

EDIT: After spending a few days trying to get Bash S2 for a decent price, the best I could do was a loose S2 Bash for $26 total. Ouch! The brand new ones were at least $41. These are the lowest prices I could find on him!

I saw him once and that was when i bought him. Bash is My 2nd(tied with camo) fave skylander. sux that he wont come back for swap force. NEITHER WILL MR.PUG!!!!!!! (wrecking ball)
