Let the little guys enter. The ones who never get 6 of each character or buy doubles. The ones whose parents work hard just to buy them a few so they can play it. I know it would be hard to tell who is taking the truth but maybe one of the contests could be for those guys. I myself have 2 or 3 of every figure so it even cancels me out. I just know some are not as fortunate add those like me or matteo or gm78. They deserve something to be period of after listening to the haves brag on here everyday. Mauve they can write in ands talk about collection they wish they had and how hard their parents Work to get them even the few they may have. As Americans we always want want want but never give. So if you have one to spare I would do something for those that have to listen to the rear of the people here that say look at me. It's time to recognize those guys on this board.

I have to say, I definitely would rather see these toys go into hands of kids who REALLY appreciate it and otherwise could not get it.
It's not as fun to give a prize to someone who could easily go buy it, but unfortunately we can't discriminate against parents with fat wallets. lol, but somehow it would be cool to set aside one for YOUNGER children.

The eating contest also could weed out the kids that may be able to afford it (too much effort to get it), as for the kids that normally could not afford it, they would be the ones that would enter. If you get multiple Bronze Hot Dogs, you could even separate the contest in to 2 age groups (5-8 and 9-13) so that a younger child would win like you would like.

I still can't figure out how to do a Multi-quote... But obviously, with our crazyness, I like this idea. I'm just afraid I'll get complaining parents if I choose this route. smilie

  1. Click the "Multi-quote" link on one of the replies you want to quote. The words "Multi-quote" will turn Red, to indicate it's flagged as one of the replies you want to quote.
  2. Repeat for all the other replies you want to quote
  3. After you click the first message, a Multi-Quote button appears on the bottom of the page, under the last reply
  4. Clicking that button will bring you to the reply screen, just like when you click Quote.

(I love that I'm multi-quoting on the reply where I'm describing how to multi-quote. LOL!)

If the child has no problem participating, I don't know why a parent would disagree.

Because hot dogs are a touch unhealthy. Most parents don't mind them in normal circumstances, but participating in a contest would mean consuming massive amounts. Plus, it's easy to overdo it and make yourself sick, and parents like to STOP their kids from doing things which will make them vomit. smilie Adults are old enough to understand the consequences and make the decision to participate in such a contest, but kids aren't. I'm no expert, but I've never heard of an eating contest which was open to kids, for this very reason probably.

I don't think you understand the contest.
Its not the amount (How many) you eat that will win the contest, its what condiments you add to the hot dog that will win. Only one hot dog will be sacrificed per contestant. I suppose there could be a rule that states that the parent has to be present (Maybe the one that videos) during the making of the video. Since the parent will be present they are agreeing to the contest and they would be able to monitor what is added to the hot dog. I would imaging that the child would disagree with some of the parents suggestion of condiments anyways, I know my 7 year old would. I still like this type of contest even though I can see there are some stick in the mud parents out there. No matter what the contest is, if you don't like it... then don't participate. You cant please everyone, especially when it comes to getting something for free, I guess some people think if its free it should be easy. Sorry if I offended anyone. Its just a contest for a bronze hot dog. What better way to get it then to incorporate a hot dog for a hot dog.

It can still make you sick depending on what/how much you add... :/

Give me a break... I understand, you want a writing contest. Anything someone else suggested other than adding to your suggestion for a contest, you will disagree with.

As for this. was that even necessary? I know you don't like this since you don't want your face on You Tube. Then don't participate.

Yes it was.

Angry parents would complain, it would be a mess. It's a good idea, but it would have a bad outcome.

Since it is for Hot Dog.
I say you do a Hot Dog eating contest... Create a video of the most outragious hot dog with condiments on the dog that you would eat. Post it on YouTube and the most outragious eater wins. I dont want to give out ideas but baby food (Peas/carrots) comes to mind. Make it for the kids, age 5 - 13 can only enter. The video has to show proof of what is being added to the hot dog.
Dont forget to give a Skylanders Giants Bronze Hot Dog to the creator of the contest also... Hint Hint!!!

Yup! Got it right on the head in one! LOL! I never win anything, so I'm not TERRIBLY interested in all this, I'm unlikely to enter, so I glanced over many replies. In this one I read "Hot Dog eating contest" and moved on, and the other replies only called it a hot dog eating contest, I didn't catch the unusual nature of it. smilie You actually made it perfectly clear - except I would AVOID calling it a hot dog eating contest, call it a hot dog dressing contest, and just make it a rule that you still have to be willing to eat it, and prove it by eating it.

Yes, I agree, parents would GENERALLY be okay with this contest, though I also agree with Matteomax that some stick-in-the-mud parents might object based on prudish reasons (not realizing that they're showing that THEY have a dirty mind). smilie

I also agree that a contest on DarkSpyro would be better, more interested parties can enter, and interested parties are more likely to have an account here, rather than YouTube.

Thank You for you comment, I do like the idea of "Dressing" contest but like you said, make sure they understand that they still have to eat the complete hot dog. As for where they enter, they still enter it HERE on a Dark Spyro post "The OFFICIAL Hot Dog Dressing/Eating Contest". They would just have to post a link to where the video is located. Since Dark Spyo does not have that capability.

Didn't get to read through all the posts but I think a good one would be some kind of drawing contest for kids.....have kids draw a humorous scene with a few Skylanders in it....like a one page drawing or a short (3-4 panel) comic strip.

Then have people submit them, or post the submissions on a thread and let members vote for their favorite.
