Lila got as close as she dared. All of a sudden, she sprang at from the tall grass and lunged toward the black horned buffalo. After the buffalo sensed that it could not drive her away, let alone catch her, it lunged toward Lila and then wheeled around and ran away. Lila saw that it had fooled her as it had charged, so she raced after it. "You're not getting away that easily." She thought, putting on an extra burst of speed.

Delgato laid down and Alyx got closer to him to keep warm.

Twilight growled as she saw Lila catching a buffalo in the same herd. Now the herd was scattered! Twilight lunged for a dawdleing (Calf, is it for buffalo?) She scored her claws across it's flank, then reached for the throat.

Lila knew that she could not keep this speed up much longer, so she had to act quickly. She leaped at the buffalo and landed on its back. In a violent attempt to shake her off, the buffalo stumbled and fell. Lila saw her chance and went for the throat. She killed it with a swift blow, then slowly dragged the carcass back to her den.

Delgato buried his muzzle in his paws.

Lila was very cautious once she got back to her den. Since night was falling, she figured that the nocturnal animals and creatures that would want her food would be nearby. Sometimes she wished she had somone to guard and hunt with her, but she had to fend for herself, so she pushed the thought away and continued eating.

Alyx scented Lila and let a low growl.

Delgato lifted his head and scented Lila as well.
"Let's check it out." he growled and they started padding toward Lila.

Lila kept eating but sensed some others nearby. She finished off what she could and then sat at the edge of her den to keep watch.

Delgato spotted Lila.
"Eh. She's by her den. If there's others with her, there's no point in attacking." he growled.

Alyx nodded.
"Let's watch." she said.

Lila listened intently for any sign of intruders. Every now and then she would slink back inside the den and eat some more, but always returned to keep watch.

Alyx laid down with her head on her paws and Delgato laid beside her. The two watched Lila intently.

Lila soon went out to stretch her legs. Even though she normally would have been sleeping, she sensed danger and was too uneasy to fall asleep.

Delgato watched Lila very closely.

Lila listened intently. She moved to her favorite lookout spot on top of her den and looked around. She thought she saw rustling in some nearby grass, but she couldn't be sure. She jumped down from her post and walked slowly closer.

Delgato noticed Lila coming closer and he woke Alyx as a warning.

Lila came even closer. She wouldn't fight who or whatever it was watching her, but was cautious anyway. As soon as she got close enough, she saw two figures in the grass, but couldn't tell what they were.

Delgato leapt and tackled Lila, pinning her down with a snarl.

Lila didn't struggle, but looked at Delgato in surprise. She was extremely terrified, but amazed at this dog's strength and cunning. "P...please don't kill me." She whispered softly.

Alyx swished her blue and white head.
"Delgato, you scared the poor thing." she said.

Is it too late to join? Can I be a wombat?

OOC: It's never too late to join! Of course, wombats are amazing.

Lila was still terrified, but she made no move to aggravate them further. "P...p...please don't kill me." she stammered again.

Delgato snarled, but he released Lila on Alyx's command.

Twilight brought down the calf, proud of herself. She settled down to eat.

Lila stood up and shook herself off. "Thank you." she said before turning and fleeing. She wondered what had persuaded the other dog to let her go. In any case, she was glad to still be alive.

"You're too cold-hearted Delgato. Momentai." said Alyx.

"Momentai yourself. Let's follow." he growled and he took off before Alyx could reply.

Lila found a low hanging bush that would serve well as a temporary den. She crawled underneath to wait until she could return to her actual den.

Delgato whipped his head around, searching for Lila's scent.

Once Twilight ate as much as she could, she went to find a temporary den. Night was approaching, and her den was quite a while away. She found a low bush.... She cautiously poked her head in. To Twilight's surprise, there was another Wild Dog. She yelped when she saw the dog. It was nighttime, and certainly hard to see. This dog could be a feirce mutt, or some weak, starving dog.

Lila fell asleep, but made sure to cover the space she had crawled through with branches first. She was afraid that the wild dogs would change their minds and come back to kill her.

The dog snarled at Twilight. Twilight squinted and saw it was a large female Bernese Mountain Dog. The dog snapped its jaws and lunged at Twilight.

The young wild dog walked around up in the trees curiously. She was able to do this due to being raised by wild cats.

Alyx caught Lila's scent and carefully snuck away from Delgato, following it to an area hurriedly covered in branches. Moving the branches aside, she found Lila.
"Hey. I'm not gonna hurt ya. Just a friendly chat." she said.

Chase looked at the ground below her. She smiled.

Twilight braced herself. There was going to be a fight. The dog pinned Twilight to the ground. Twilight struggled to kick the large Bernese Mountain Dog off, but she was tough, and strong. Twilight went limp, letting the dog think she was defeated. The dog loosened her grip, and Twilight seized the moment. She had the element of surprise. The two dogs tussled for awhile, drawing blood. Soon, they were both staring at eachother, growling. "What's your name," Twilight barked, hoping she could make a friend out of this dog. "Growl." Came a scratchy reply. The dogs circled one another for a moment, staring. Growl lunged, reaching for Twilight's throat. Twilight jumped out of the way, just in time. Growl skidded on the dusty ground. She snarled, "you wanna mess with me? Well, you won't be able to for long!" Growl leaped at Twilight with such furiousity, Twilight was startled. Growl pinned her to the ground, as hard as she could. Twilight howled in pain and fear. The poor dog couldn't yelp, half from pain and half from her chest being pinned, so she just prayed, please, someone help!

Lila woke up, surprised, and hit her head against a low-hanging branch. "Ouch." She said. She wasn't afraid of this dog, but kept her guard up in case the other one came back. "Oh, hey," she replied. "I didn't see you there." "So..... What's up?"

Alyx smiled.
"I'm better than my partner, you don't have to be so tense." she said calmly.

Delgato heard the cry of pain and took off in the direction of the yelp. He came to see Growl pinning down Twilight.
"Pick on someone else!" He snarled and he tackled Growl.

Chase turned her attention to a fight down below. She watched curiously.

Growl's grip loosened for a moment, and Twilight darted away. She stopped a bit away from Growl. She looked at the other dog thankfully, then turned on Growl. It was two against one, but Growl was a big dog.

Delgato sank his teeth into Growl's shoulder with a snarl.

Chase jumped down from the tree "Need help?" She asked the two smaller animals.

OOC: They are both nodder wild dogs... they're actually same size as Chase...

(Oh....)

Growl whipped around and slashed at Delgato's cheek. She looked at Chase, and cut her ear swiftly. "All right," she growled, "you win this time. Just because it's three to one." Growl started racing away. "And if you chase me?" She shouted, "you're going to die!"

Chase smiled "Why would we chase you?"

Delgato shook his head.
"I'm not wastin my energy on that big dog." He spat.

Growl was quite far away by now. Once she decided she was far enough, she sat down.

The Singc family had a feast of Black Horned Buffalo. Soon, the moon was high in the sky and the Singcs and Jenna were exhausted. Apple and Goldfur were curled up at the edge of the sleeping wild cat heap.

Lila was surprised at this, but did not mention it. She crawled out from underneath the bush. "Well, thank you for saving me." She said. "Nobody else probably would have stood up for me like that."

"My partner is an idiot. He attacks before thinking. Sorry about that." said Alyx with a smile.

Delgato followed Alyx's scent to see the two dogs. He growled, blood dripping from the ear Growl had cut.

Alyx gasped and ran to Delgato.
"Delgato you idiot! What did you do?" she said.

"I saved a dog." growled Delgato.

"Well that's an achievement." said Alyx. She turned to Lila. "This is my idiot of a partner. Delgato."
