My first Skylanders figure was a Skylanders Giants Series 2 Stone Whirlwind. I found her at a walmart and thought she looked cool and ddidn't realize it was a special figure. I found her on black Friday 2012. I just recently got the game and tried her out, she's still in the package, and she started out on level 5 with 2000 gold, is that normal for them to start that way? She shows up in the game like normal, but is labeled in the game as Series 2 Special Whirlwind.

She should have lvl5 and 2100 gold... mine shows up as Series 2 "Special" Whirlwind, as does my rock Zook, but I have heard of people getting rock variants that don't come up as "Special", so that part is not unheard of! Congrats on the find!!

I may have been mistaken about the amount of gold she started with. I didn't pay close enough attention to it until I noticed she was a level 5 after 3 minutes of being on the home ship and I had already collected the gold that was there. I figured it was 2000 gold. She's at level 13 now, and I like her in the game.

I agree, Whirlwind is fun to play in the game... she was my first figure when SSA first came out too!!

Yes, , , and were my originals, as I DID buy the game first. Then, happily enough, I got 11 out off 32 skylanders for $2.99 each! It was on Black Friday at Best Buy, most likely in preparation for Giants. These were the 11: , , , , , , , , , , and . The same day, I also got , , , , , and . There were deals on those too, obviously, but I don't remember what. It's hard to forget the Best Buy deals! I was holding out hope that it would happen again this year with Giants, but I couldn't wait that long! Also, I didn't know what would be left by then, and didn't want to risk it. (If anyone's interested, I could list the order I got ALL my skylanders and giants. I'm a little obsessed! )

The Legendary 3-pack came free with the SSA starter pack. After that, we were off and running. Skylanders were much easier to find then. That was before the drought after the holidays.
