AFAIK this should be their Sunday ad since every source I've found has 5/19 as TRU's release date for Scarlet Ninjini.

Cheapassgamer has TRU's Sunday ad up early but they don't mention this deal. Either the OP omitted it because he didn't realize it was a deal or the deal isn't nationwide. My bet would be on the former.

I would not be surprised if this deal was beginning on Sunday, 5/19. It's been established already that Scarlet Ninjini will become available at Toys R Us locations on Sunday. That makes is a great time for Toys R Us to attempt to clear out some of its (substantial) back-stock of Giants Starter Packs that are collecting dust.

Because so many people have bought Giants, played it, and then turned around to sell their Skylanders stuff on Ebay or Craigslist after a month or three, the market for new Giants Starter packs (other than the ones that contain special variants, like Punch Pop Fizz, etc.) in retail stores has shriveled-up ... really badly. Looks to me like Activision badly overestimated the number of Starter Packs that would be needed on the market .... which is great news for people looking for a bargain now. If you've been pondering starting-in on Skylanders Giants, this would be a great weekend to give it a shot without having to deal with Ebay or Craigslist .... you'll be able to get a Starter Pack at TRU cheaply, and pick up some characters too, at a great price (Buy 1, get one 60% off) ... or, instead head to Target after buying your Starter Pack at TRU ... Target will have Buy 2, get one free on Skylanders starting Sunday, and they should also have Scarlet Ninjini available on the same date.

sorry. just got back home and looked at ad and it is 5/19-5/26. Didnt pay attention to the date earlier. it came in the mail today.

Skylander sets are $35 each and the McDonald coupon does work with this along with rewards $ if you have them. I got a wii u version today for around 86cents using $25 in rewards and the McDonald coupon.

I don't want to get anybody in trouble." She said, "look at the coupon--it doesn't anything about one per transaction and the register accepts it." I left--went home--got a bunch if coupons and went back up. I bought 2 starter packs---Wii and Wiiu and I paid about $5.00 and 8 coupons. I even talked to the manager who said it was just fine and he was surprised that not many people were using them. I will post pics of the two receipts if people want to see. But FYI--I'd ask, doesn't hurt to ask.

hmm. I would go and try this but at this point i own every version of the game there is. My son got the ps3 for xmas, I bought the portal owner for xbox (since i ebayed the green gill grunt start with spyro adventure for $40 and just wanted tree rex), got the wii one when i bought a blue wii (which now i may sell :see next thing and just today the wii u version of the game. So im done. Never have i ever owned 4 copies of a game and prob would have never done so if i didnt get good deals. then there the 3ds game which i got for $40. I guess I could try it and give it away to a friend or two to get them to try the game. Hey thats not a bad idea spread the addiction

No. Gnarly Tree Rex is included if you buy a whole Wii system plus Skylanders Giants. That's not technically a starter pack.

Also, this is ridiculous that people are using multiple $10 off coupons for one item. Any store employee or manager that accepts multiples probably won't have his/her job for too much longer. Take of advantage of such clueless people accordingly to your own level of conscience/morality.

^ Not sure how/why conscience/morality was mentioned when the employee offered it to her (but never mind that). As I posted in another thread not too long ago, you can get a Gnarly "Starter Kit" on amazon although now it's up to $41.99. It comes with everything excluding the Wii system, so a pretty good deal regardless of having everything else as Gnarly sells for over $30 everywhere else.

The big problem here, like many other things in life, is that those employees "don't know what they don't know".

I don't think you were being malicious or deceitful. But you were definitely taking advantage of the employees' ignorance, even if they allowed you or even encouraged you to do it.
Obviously, this is a BIG stretch of an analogy, but if a 17 year-old offers an adult sexual favors, and the adult engages with the teen, it's still a crime and the adult is a criminal, even if the teenager was completely willing to participate and/or even acting in extremely seductive ways. In other words, consent (of the employee/manager in this case) does not necessarily mean you didn't "rape" the store or its investors ... you did. Is that illegal? No. Is it a matter worthy of ethical debate? Definitely.

In addition to the Toys R Us deals this week, Target has Buy 2 Figures Get 1 Free this week in their ad, at least for me in NC.

I trust that the people working at Toys R Us--especially the manager know their jobs better than you or I do. in most cases multiple coupons are not allowed--but in this case--they are. i love that the motive behind your post is about not taking advantage of people--thats positive. But I think maybe in this case you have pointed your intentions in the wrong direction.

Yeah, I gotta say, Bahamut, good intentions but I think you're assuming too much. Remember, nearly ALL coupons have some sort of "Not to be used with other promotions" thing. This has been true for decades, long before any computerized cashier system they use. So I feel like it's a guarantee that any cashier system will be programmed to account for attempts to use multiple coupons and disallow anything that shouldn't work. The fact that these coupons DON'T say they can't be used, and the fact that the computer system allows it, makes it EXTREMELY likely that everything is okay and above board. No worries.

Considering that this coupon doesn't even come from TRU in any way, it comes from a third party, suggests to me that the way it works is that the store in turn submits these coupons to Activision, who reimburse them for part or more likely the whole cost of $10. If Acti honours multiple coupons, there's no reason for the store not to accept multiple coupons.

There's no ethical quandries in this case. Trust me, I'm sure people can do this with a clear conscience.

Nice guy--thank you. Honestly, I read Bahamutbreaker's post on another thread and thought..it'd be terrible if an employee got in trouble or lost their job for using coupons when they shouldn't have. I'm not "friends" per se, with the employees,but I have a rapport with many of them and would feel terrible if I was a catalyst to any issues with their job. Heck--i'd feel badly if I caused a stranger problems with their employment! Anyway--I appreciate the comments and that you understood. I posted it to begin with because after the manager confirmed it was ok--I wanted other DarkSpyro's people to know and benefit from the coupons. (The ironic thing about all this is--and why it likely bothers me more than it should-is because in my "real life" a part of my professional role is that of an advocate for people--I won't get too specific--but I am bound legally/ethically to care for and help others. I take this seriously and I "live" it throughout my life. I'm not perfect--clearly--but I'd never purposefully negatively affect anybody.

Hey, I get it. I find that SO many people these days have an attitude of "If I don't know you, it doesn't matter if I screw you over". I take great pride in NOT being that way, in caring for everyone, and not wanting to cause hardship to innocent strangers. I hate when people think nothing of jeopardizing other people's jobs - and get highly offended when people do it to me - so I would never jeopardize other people's jobs.

The way it sounds to me, you went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure this was okay, you've done your due diligence. The cashier SHOULD know what's okay, the manager MUST know. The manager says okay, the computer says okay, it's okay.

Today and tomorrow (6/3 and 6/4/13), Toys R Us online has 20% Triple Packs and Battle Packs. Not a phenomenal deal, but it's still some savings.

Some stores may have this too, i got a triple on sunday for 20% off wasnt aware of the deal till i left the store.

This thread hasn't been used in a while but there's quite a few Skylanders deals this week. Notably is that TRU is advertising that you can get any figure free in addition to Lightcore Hex when you preorder SWAP Force as long as it's priced $9.99-10.99.
