*Phoenicis*

It was the great Hawk King, Tibarn. Once second he was in the distance, the next he had blown through that force keeping everyone at bay. Viscera flew everywhere in his rage and those caught in his path were torn to bits. A few archers tried to shoot at them, even a sniper. Their aims were true, but he was way too fast, dodging them with ease. A wind mage attacked him with a wind magic. It hit! Tibarn roared and tore apart the wind mage, appearing almost unscathed! The archers never stood a chance. A myrmidon suddenly burst in on Penna's hiding place, swiping his sword down. The sword never reached her, as Tibarn came out and killed the Myrmidon. He shifted into his normal form (Tibarn) "Can you fly, girl?" He asked. The town was already lost though. But everyone'd been evacuated safely.

*Gallia*

The mage died in those lion claws. Few survive the strength and ferocity of a laguz attack. However, you look ahead and a cat rushes in to report. "The main army is approaching! The front line is lost!"

Quote: Dragon-outcast
An enthusiastic myrmidon charged at Darrin, jumping up and slashing his Steel Sword at him in an uppercut.
Suddenly, a fierce and mighty screech shakes the area. A faraway figure approaches quickly. It's a very, very large hawk. And green too.

Darrin quickly flew back in surprize, attempting to avoid the slash. He then proceeded to fly away and headed towards those defending the city, only to find that the immediate threat was already taken care of. It was a shame to lose the city, but he was glad that the evacuation was successful.

Penna shifted back to her normal form and turned to face Tibarn.
"My wing, sir, I lost some feathers. It will hinder my movements, but I can still fly. I'm afraid I won't be as quick and agile, though." She answered. In the back of her mind, she hoped that Barbarus was fairing better than she was.

"Curses!" Barbarus growled under his breath. "They will pay dearly for harming my brethren!" He growled in anger, wanting to tear them apart. Barbarus started to rush off to continue the fight, but in the back of his mind, he heard Penna's voice. She was always warning him, telling him to stop and think before rushing straight into danger. He never would listen, and she'd have to help in some way. But he didn't have her as back-up this time. But he did hear her voice as a warning. He would have to be smart about this.

ooc: I made it a rule. This. Shall. Not. Die. Mwahahahahaaaaaa!!!!! smilie Continuing. Sorry, I kinda rushed the last one Pix. Here you go, guys!

*Phoenicis*

Tibarn 'hmph'ed' and then frowned. "Well, I'd better carry you anyway." He went and carried her on his back, (piggy-back style) and then flew, still dodging arrows that would never hit even on a bad day. Tibarn pointed at Darrin. "You there. Help take this lady with the rest of the retreat squad. I'll go look for any others that are alive." However, that option seemed very dangerous, especially with the town being stormed, even a Hawk King would be hard pressed to find anyone alive, and even harder to make it out alive.

*Gallia*

The cat general cursed and hissed loudly. "Grr...alright. Order a complete evacuation! We march to Gallia! Hurry now! Brothers, we must retreat!" He called out. Yet, some of them didn't listen. The beast tribe almost never retreats, even if it's an order. They fight to the death. The general gritted his teeth, but knew he had to accept this. "Barbarus. I won't lose you. Get back. Help the retreating citizens! That is an ORDER." The cat hissed and ruffled his fur, looking at him intimidatingly.

*Begnion*

To Hazel's eyes, the battle seemed to be going fairly well right now. The front line was holding and locked in their defensive position. They seemed to be holding off against the enemy fairly well, even gaining some ground. However, going beyond the town limits would be risky and they wouldn't have walls to protect them then. But that's exactly what the front line seemed to be doing—pushing against the enemy and gaining ground.

Still in hawk form, Darrin nods and flies towards Tibarn. He slows down and allows Penna to climb on, using his neck to hold on. He then proceeds to retreat with the rest.

Penna sighed, not too trilled about riding piggy-back, but perhaps it was for the best. She could still fly fine, just not too fast. But it did feel a tad bit degrading to ride on someone's back when you were just fighting off archers and mages a few moments ago. Oh well. Everyone has their weak moments. Her feathers will grow back in due time.

Barbarus growled in frustration, not really wanting to retreat. Still, the general could be intimidating, for a cat anyway, and he was given a job besides just retreat.
"...Yes, sir...." He muttered under his breath, hating having to fall back and leave the others behind. Then he hurried off to help the citizens escape.

*Phoenicis*

Flying onwards, the refugees arrive at the capital of Phoenicis. The civilians are safe there, though the city is having a little difficulty with the crowded area now, but all should be managed well. A few high ranking generals saw to it that Penna and Darrin got some nice nests that they use as guest ones, kinda like a hotel. Darrin and Penna's weren't too far away from each other either.
Soon, an hour after you guys arrived, Tibarn came back, his wings soaked with blood. Whether it was his own or someone else's was hard to tell.

*Gallia*

Kyzer growled, taking down a Myrmidon and then rushed back with Barbarus. "We need to have enough time to retreat over the mountains. This'll be difficult, but we must protect those who can't fight!" He growled. And thus, with a small band of laguz, you all hurriedly retreat, protecting the rest of the city as they made their way over the mountains behind you.

ooc: Sorry, Pix, I'm still trying to work on Bengion and Crimea right now. If you can't wait, you can control what happens yourself. After all, you know the plotline and such.

Penna was resting in her rest, when she noticed Tibarn arrive, his wings soaked in blood. She frowned, taking immediate notice of the blood. She wondered if it was his, hoping that it wasn't. She would have asked, but she figured she should leave him to rest in peace. Plus, she was also worried about her friend, Barbarus. She wished she could go see him.

As Barbarus retreated with the others, he couldn't help but worry about Penna. Was she safe? Was she well? Was she fighting, or just fine? Or was it the worst case scenario? Was she in fact dead? He quickly shook his head at the thought, banishing such negativity from his mind. He refused to believe his dearest friend was dead. She just couldn't be.

Darrin noticed as well and thought the same. As he rested in his own nest, he thought about the lost city and the invaders. Who were they and where did they come from?

You've all just had an exhausting day, so now you can rest. Feel free to flit around and do what you want until morning comes. A messenger gives you a hint that you both have a big assignment tomorrow and need to fly fast. A healer flies up to Penna's nest and helps fix up Penna's wing with some quick-healing herbs and concoctions.

*Gallia*

The road along the mountains is a hard one, and you are hard pressed with the enemy hot on your heels. Kyzer estimates them only about a half a day away from you guys, so the escapees need to hurry up! Find some sort of plan to defend against them.

Penna thanks the healer for their assistance, and decides to just relax in the nest. She would need all her energy tomorrow, and she needed to rest her wing. She wanted to check up on Barbarus, but it would be a long and tiresome flight to his home, and she didn't have the time or energy to go there now.

Barbarus knew that they needed to hurry up and find some sort of defense against the enemy. But defense and strategy weren't exactly his strongest traits. Strategy was something Penna could do. She would think of something. But Barbarus was more about impulsive actions and brute strength. Still, a plan was needed. He could carry some of the escapees but he also needed to help defend against the attackers. Barbarus looked around the area. Perhaps they could block off the path behind them somehow and slow down the enemy.

As Hazel touched the ground, explosions suddenly rang out. The front line was being ambushed by a clever trap of hidden Fire and Thunder Mages who rose out and shot magic at their mainly armored knight defenses. The enemies surged through before ranks could be reformed again!

The area was still forested but they were traveling uphill which was making the journey difficult. The mountain road was getting very rocky and dusty right now as well and a few loose rocks tumbled down the hill in front of him. Kyzer was at the front, leading the people to safety right now.

Barbarus kept looking back as he walked, making sure everyone was together and that no one was being left behind. He didn't want to leave anyone, civilian or warrior. He would even carry someone if he had to, but he just hated the thought of leaving someone behind.

*Gallia*

The mountain road is still quite difficult and you could practically see the enemies down below climbing up after you. They're covering more ground than you guys are pushing ahead!

*Begnion*

The commanders are struggling to hold their forces together, and they began to fight back. However, it became apparent they would not succeed and after a few more minutes of fighting, they were in full retreat back to the town, holding areas that were better for defending.
