$1700 isn't a lot of money to some people. Some of them even post here. I have a fair idea where that Prism Break went. Not naming names, but I bet it's understood.

I agree. I would never pay that much for one of these... ever. I have a feeling of who bought it, too. I will never sell my Employee Break for any amount. Sometimes things are worth more than money, in the sense that this gift isn't worth any amount, due to the person who sent it to me sticking their neck out for me.

I did sell my extra Cynder, Spyro, and Flocked Stump, though, but that's because I paid somewhat stupid amounts for 2 of those, before people helped me get the ones I currently own today.

Free. Someone at Activision said they were a fan of my collection and sent me theirs. You should have seen the PM's I was sending back to the person. I was acting like a kid in a candy store. It's the best gift I got this christmas. Infact, it's the only gift I got this Christmas.

I am super greatful to the person, and if anything, it sealed the deal with me and Skylanders until it dies. I can't take a gift of this magnitude and let this person down.

It amazes me the amount of people who whine over not getting a toy and think they are owed something because they collect skylanders. It's an employee exclusive... Are any of you employees? No. Then don't act like TFB or Activision owe you anything because they don't. These are toys. There is more to life then skylanders so get over it.

Some.of us.have collections just like Gamemasters but BC we don't post pics and talk about our collection all the time means we should just so we could get one of these too? We are the reason these people have a job. Our thanks is stores with limited stock and limited.variants most of us will never own unless we fork out the money on eBay. Not that it will hurt either company or anyone here. The whole plan behind releasing any figure or variant is just to.the point where I can no longer care or put my money into a product that is supported by horrible actions and poor decision. You guys have fun and good luck to your future hunting days. I'm retiring from everything skylanders and will do what TFB wants and practices by selling my whole collection from SA to giants.

That line of thought isn't very kosher in my eyes, Drill. Someone at Activision (not TF sent me theirs. It's their perogative if they do that. If they had sent it to that Andy guy, at FGTV, then what? Life would have moved on.

Speaking of that guy, should I get mad because my collection stomps mudholes in his, yet he gets priority for figures, so he can do a tiny unboxing and give the figures to his kids? I bet you ten bucks he isn't even as big of a fan of Skylanders as "WE" (meaning all of us here) are here at Darkspyro, yet somehow he gets them for free? I guess we should all complain about that, right? Wrong.

I have invested more than anyone can imagine on this game. 8 copies of the first game. 12 copies of the second game. 4 Wii bundles. 3 Battleground Starters. 5 of every figure from the first game plus some. 4 of every figure from the second game (so far). 1 copy of the first game's strategy guide. 3 copies of the second game's strategy guide. All released novels, plus the sticker book imported from Europe, controllers, yada-yada.

If I wanted to complain, I would. Infact, I have. I got bent out of shape on Neogaf when E3 Spyro came out. However, it was really due to what was going on in my life at the time, and I chose to vent in another form that I shouldn't have... LESSON LEARNED! Point is, I even made it a point not to complain about Employee Break. Why? Because I can't have it all. The employees deserve something for their hard work. I was letting go. However, one fan at Activision liked my collection and all that I put into it, and is sending me theirs.

I could complain, though, like you. I could sit there and say, "well, wait a second. I feel I am a bigger fan than Andy at FGTV, yet he gets to go to TFB (which would be a dream come true for me), gets an Arbo prototype, gets free figures sent to him to do simple unboxings and then throw the figures to his kids to tear up (their Hex was torn to shreds). They are kids, sure, but even I supervise my kids' collection of Skylanders, until they learn to take care of it. What's this have to do with me, by the way? I tried contacting Acitivision, in order to get figures early, for a website I was having a friend create. I decided to focus on my movie first, then work on the site, which would be a really cool database for Skylanders, their stats, and how each plays with prefered paths and such, as well as video playthroughs of every level and Heroic Challenge. That's doing a lot more than a simply unboxing that's sped up. However, I did not complain or mention what I felt, until you just said this. Why? Because, 20 children died a week and 4 days ago. Can you imagine the present wrapped under the tree for those kids who died, who will never open those presents a week and 3 days later? How do the parents feel? Skylanders is the least of the world's problems. It's the least of our problems. My complaints about what Skylanders I can and can't get, is shot down by REAL problems this world faces. So, I dropped it.

Again, this fan could have chosen or not chosen to do this, just like another employee sold his on Ebay. Why not complain about the employee who sold his on Ebay for 1700, when he got it for free? This fan decided to give it to someone who appreciates it, instead of thinking about themselves. I am forever greatful for that. Had that person decided not to even contact me, life would have gone on. However, I now have a renewed purpose to stay in Skylanders for the long haul.

How many times can you list what you have? Give it a break. We all are aware of your "collection"!

The idea they'd make an exclusive figure for us... Uh... then what would make it so special? As it is, they've made over 100 different figures 'for us' and still people think it's unfair. Of COURSE it's unfair that not everyone gets the chance to get each and every figure, it's also not fair that there are dying, starving children all over the world and people would rather spend 15 bucks on a piece of plastic for a game than give them the money for clean water and a better life.

Goddamn, all this whining and crying over a toy. Hell, I'd love this thing, I'd love a collection as big as all yours fellas, but as it is, I can't, and I don't care that I can't. Stop crying over it, that employee that gave Gamemaster his was doing something nice. I'm sure if he had 1000 of the things, he would've given you one (had he known about YOU specifically, you with your unheard of collection) but he had only had one, and he chose to give that to someone he knew of, not stick it in a postbox and hope it finds its way to you.

Thanks, Joe. While I am guilty of venting on Negoaf when E3 Spyro came out, I was really venting my frustration for something that was happening in my life at that time.

But, I can see where people would get frustrated. At the same time, looking at incidents like what happened in Conneticut, should make people put their priorities straight in what constitutes something to complain about.

20 parents had to unwrap the gifts they bought, or put them in a room now dedicated to a child they worked har to raise, because some lunatic wanted to cause trouble. Those parents have every right in the world to complain about ANYTHING they want. How do you think they would take the complaining from people over Skylanders? I can put the words right in their mouthes. "Oh, so you can't get a toy? You think you got problems? Try buring a kid who should never die before their parents, with money we probably didn't even have to pay for the services."

I'm not really saying what people should and should not gripe about, but even I shouldn't have vented my frustration over Skylander variants this past summer.

Again, though, I want to stress that TFB isn't doing anything special for me. They hold people in high regards who don't do justice to Skylanders' analysis. Why do people think I bought 3 of every character? It wasn't to really experience each upgrade path for fun. No. I am trying to make a website (or help out this one if ever possible through contributions), where I spend my hard earned money on 3 of the same figures, just to help others save time in finding out which paths are the best for each Skylander. Furthermore, I am also trying to show people why both upgrade paths are good for something, while showing which I prefer. I have lots of ideas in mind, that would do justice to the analysis of each Skylander.

The person giving me their Employee Break, is obviously a fan of my collection, as he/she has stated as such. They could have done anything with it, including ripping people off by selling it for 1700 freakin' dollars. No, instead, this fan chose to help me further get items for the collection, and in turn, I am now going to stay invested not only in the figures of each game, but now the variants, due to a sudden spark of motivation I was starting to lose. His kindness will forever be remembered, when people always like their money. He was thinking about a true fan of Skylanders, over money. That's what you call a standout human being.

To the people who feel activision owes you something; They don't. Sometimes Companies take care of theirs. Activision I suppose is one of them. Props to them by all means!
But YOU are the one who chose to spend gobs and gobs of money on their product. So you shouldn't be mad at them for not releasing this to the public. Stop throwing a "pity party". If you don't wanna spend anymore money on figures just because you couldn't get ONE single figure. Then oh well. I'm sure thats showing them *Sarcasm* Activision isn't gonna care. That just leaves less compitition for figures for those of us who don't give a crap.

An employee said he thought it was a limited edition of about 1,000 made.... I wish I had connections out in Cali like I do in the Midwest, I would love to take my talents out there!! Was there this much whining when metallic Cynder, Chrome Spyro, and Pearl Hex were released? Dang, I don't see what the big difference is. You people who sunk thousands into this game managed to snag those and now you're freaking over this particular one because it's a "employee exclusive" and the first couple sold for a crap ton of money? As mentioned the price will come down you just have to be patient. I have never had much real interest in variants because aside from the clear ones most of them can be replicated with a little bit of paint. This is the only one that I have even shown the remotest bit of interest in and i may get it. As for GM getting a free one......good for him. Is it fair toward other major collectors? Probably not, but then again he advertises his more than you guys, as has been pointed out as well, so of course his will get more attention. If he want to blow thousands of dollars on multiples of every piece of skylander junk for his skylander room *cough cough shrine* then goodie for him. All complaints about it should be kept on his thread for it. I on the other hand would rather deck out my room with merchandise from a bit cooler of a game

I just believe without us buying their product there would be no skylanders craze. A simple thank you to the consumers who are making them.rich and releasing a holiday figure for the biggest.holiday of the year would make sense. There are several other games and companies that reward players/consumers for getting a friend.involved or putting time into a game or product to earn these types of things. Instead this company te and time again chooses to take advantage and disappoint people who.pay for their product. Even.the employees are cashing in on those that keep them employed. I've just had enough of standing in lines at 530 am and paying for way overpriced figures, buying multiple game systems just to get an exclusive. I just sit back and think about it and how dumb the whole thing is. I'll get out of it what I put into it.

GameMaster: how does it show up in Giants and Universe, so I can update the variants list?

When it arrives, I will check and see if it shows up as Special in Giants/Universe and let you guys know. If someone here was one of the people who bought one off of Ebay, perhaps they will update before me, because I don't know the precise date it will arrive. However, when mine gets here, and if no new info comes to light, I will find out for us.

EDIT: Drill, all of us have to buy the new flocked Stump if we want them. Even I will have to wait until all Giants variants to drop to near 100 for me to start going after them.

So, I work for a living. I don't get a bonus or anything at Christmas time and I am fine with that. I may get a bonus in April, I may not. I am fine with that also. I have seen a few posts on here about how people are saying they get paid to do their job. You are right they do. When companies do things like this for their employees, it actually pays the companies back in boosting morale and job performance. That is why they do things like this. It is not to get people, who don't work their, all bent out of shape. I would like to have one of these. However, I realize unless I get very very lucky or win the lottery it is not going to happen as I can not afford to shell out that money on Ebay. If I really wanted one I could uproot my family and move to California and hopefully they would give out one next year.

Also, I don't see why people must flame and flame and flame on here. It has driven a lot of people away in the few months I have been on here. I agree, the variants are about 7x better this time, but the collecting is getting out of hand.
