The alicorn looked out across Equestria, from her perch atop Mt. Canterlot, watching the sun set to the west. Ever since she had taken up the Brother's offer, she became the new vessel for his evil. Inferno turned her head, looking out over the Everfree Forest, Ponyville. Her teammates, the Mercenaries of RED, and the Elements of Harmony were down there.
A thoughtless act by Inferno, still as the unicorn Hellena, condemned them to a fate worse than death. The Brother gave her a chance to set them free, let her take his place. So she did. She gave her life to save the ponies she cared about.
She was expected to become the new Nightmare Moon. The Nightmare Moon who would corrupt the land with darkness, and set it ablaze. Though she could feel the evil flowing through and out of her, to poison Equestria slowly and surely. Just as the Brother had been doing for hundreds of years. She chose to free her friends, to save their lives, but they would soon die by her hand anyway. There was no way out.
Nightmare Inferno stretched her wings, staring at the charred ends. She was an immortal. She was the most powerful pony in Equestria now. Celestia and Luna were a joke to her.
But she was Hellena, the RED Pyro at heart, and she didn't want this.

I'm not a fan of MLP, but damn, these backstories and characters are interesting!

Not art, but I want to post this here anyway. Spoilers for those who haven't played OFF.

The Meaning of Her Tears

The faceless lady could sense his presence, like a bruise upon an otherwise perfect apple. So he had found her, in her secret domain, to complete his twisted campaign, once and for all.

Destroy the world that she, Vader Eloha, the Queen, had brought back from the ashes.

And there he was, bat in hand, with three rings of divine will floating behind him. Very much like her own arabesque allies.

“You are finally here, Batter…” she whispered. “The wait for your arrival has been a long one… But your way was in vain. You will do naught but raise trouble here. Return home.”

So reassured, the Batter was. It was a beautifully terrifying thing.

“That’s what I did. This here is the cradle of my father. Your guardians have fallen. You are now the Queen of a kingdom that no longer exists.”

Vader Eloha was surprised, but not taken aback.

“Why have you destroyed the nation that I have rebuilt?” she asked.

“You’ve never been in the place to do even the slightest thing.” The Batter replied. “Your role was to take care of him. You have failed your task. Now, because of you, I must complete my sacred mission.”

The Queen withstood her once-lover’s verbal attacks, before responding calmly.

“I have done all this for him. I truly wish for my children to be happy.”

“We were so busy preparing the birthday party that we forgot who it was for.”

“You have ruined the carnival, Batter.” she replied, patience wearing thin. “I will not let you lay a hand on the son who brought us into the world.

“Today, you will fall.”

The battle was long and gruelling, but Vader Eloha finally emerged victorious. It had been a fatal mistake on the Batter’s part that brought about his ultimate defeat, with Alpha, Omega and Epsilon following soon afterward. It was inevitable.

“No… I can’t lose…” The Batter moaned in disbelief, reaching for his bat. He refused to give up. Eloha picked up the aluminium instrument, pulling it away.

“My sacred task…” His body began to fade into the nothingness.

“I like what you’ve done with this room. It’s… nice.” The spectre was beginning to become delusional. Act almost like he did in the good old days…

“Batter, it’s over.” The Queen’s voice was like a breath of wind, beautiful and sad. “You have torn apart this world, leave it at that. Let go to your delusions, my love. Dream something beautiful.”

“I remember a time when everything was so much brighter.” Batter whispered, barely visible. “When we were all happy…” And with that, he was gone. Gone forever.

“Thoughtless actions
hurt
the ones you once
cared about.”

A single tear splashed onto the floor.

Queen Glacera of the Frostbound Hive

Back in her day, Glacera was considered as ambitious as Chrysalis would later turn out to be. Believing that she and her children shouldn't have to hide away like common pests, she actively attacked small towns and villages. A powerful warrior and queen, she was feared for many years by many ponies.

Only when she stepped too far, she was permanently incapacitated by a blinding spell. Her views on the world fading away, Glacera and her hive drew back, finding a permanent home at the base of the Crystalspine Mountains. There they remained, for many years. Though the Queen lost both her aggression and her sight, she took to learning about ponies, rival changelings, and the world in general.

It was years later when Queen Chrysalis tore her hive assunder, the young queen believing that the Frostbound changelings and their mother were weak and didn't deserve to live in what would be 'her' world. Only the crippled queen survived, though her right wing was lost.

Glacera remained bitter and alone, nearly consumed by her desire for revenge. The blind warrior who can't fly.

Sad but, neat.
