TFB should allow people to get replacement variants, so ALL of them show up as special, thus it would tempt me to get these newest variants and raise up that 127 number, to 132.

Agree 100% as it is a manufacturer's mistake however getting them to fix it via an PC patch to the Portal of Power Seems More feasable and more simple solution.
it would probably be very simple to do.

I have had only one experience with TFB/avtivision and it was dissapointing, but not a "bad" experience

Any Skylander with a different name on the box is counted as a different character in game(As in legendary, royal, dark, puch, gnarly and etc.). If the name is still the same on the package then its not different.

There are special characters who are new versions of old skylanders with different names that count as completely different characters entirely. And then there are special variants that just look different but have no other significan changes.us

So, has there been any word on the Snowy Lightcore Prism Break, yet? Does it appear as 'special' in game and as a seperate character in Universe, or is this variant another hit and miss?

Well, I need to retract that statement, because with there only being 3 Sonic Boom icons in Universe, but 2 variants of S2 Sonic Boom, the Special Prism Break, Hot Head, Zook, and Whirlwind could be upcoming store exclusive variants.

I doubt it. I think the icons are for the variants we already know about. They are just simply glitched, wether it be a problem with Universe or the figure itself.

Updated with the snow flocked Skylanders, and the 2013 Toy Fair Chop Chop. If anyone can test in universe, that would help.

My Glitter Hot Head should be here anyday now. The seller I bought it from states it shows up as Special ingame. I will test it on Universe and Giants on the 360, PS3, and Wii U (don't have an opened Wii version) when it arrives.

I will also test my stone Zook and Whirlwind as soon as they arrive.

EDIT: Got my Glitter Hot Head in today. He registers as Special in the 360 and Wii U versions of the game. He does not register as Special in Universe.

Someone posted a pic of Toy Fair Chop Chop registering as special, which is odd. People assumed that since there are multiple icons for skylanders on Universe, that means there was going to be a variant of them.

However, when someone posted that pic of the multiple icons of Skylanders on this forum somewhere, there wasn't a second icon for Chop Chop. Odd.

So has there finally been any official word on wether or not the White Flocked variants and the NY Toy Fair Chop Chop show up as 'Special' in Giants and as seperate characters in Universe?

We have kinda been getting bits and pieces of information on this, so far. I think they have been out long enough to get a definite confirmation from a member on here.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.
