Pretty much the team in my signature, but specifically, Ignitor and Hex are my favorites.

Earth - This is always so hard. There isn't a single Earth I don't like. I'll go Crusher because he is the essence of Earth. Big powerhouse damage dealer with huge pool of hit points and some evasion techniques. Many said he was the most uninventive Giant, but it would have been ridiculous NOT to have a giant like Crusher in the game.

Tech - I already like drill sergeant and that laser turned a middle of the pack skylander into a champion. I don't see Drill Sergeant ever not being my favorite at this point.

Water - The only unreleased skylander that I will claim is my favorite is Thumpback. Water is similar to the earth Skylanders in both the fact I like all of them (well zap blows) and they are powerhouses. They sacrifice a bit of damage for a little bit better utility (save Terrafin of course....he has the ultimate utility move).

Magic - Pop Fizz is a close second, but I got to stay with Voodood. I have NO idea how he was labeled as uninventive. He has an average look, but I've not control anything like him in any other game.

Fire - Ignitor.....who else

Undead - Fright Rider. Okay. So my picks are starting to look like William Wallaces buddies, but they really are the most fun to play.

Life - tree Rex. At first I didn't like him, and then I heard his voice.

Wind - Okay. Sue me. I like the most girly skyander on the roster Whirlwind. But it's not so much I really like her, more I just really don't like the airlanders. Nice try with a wingless birdman (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Tango Foxtrot Bravo) but let's gets some non-Pokemon looking airlanders for crying out loud. Let's take a page from Swarm's book and give us a praying mantis melee air fighter. THAT I would love.

Magic- Voodood. Down the Elementalist path, Voodood is a pretty fun fighter with a lot of tricks under his skulls. Maybe he's a bit generic in design- but hey, the roster wouldn't be complete without at least a few classically known kinds(even though all the dragons are frustrating grrrrr). I generally don't like Magic, but Voodood is an exception.
Earth- Prism Break. Everyone else is just broken, and not fun to play with. Prism Break, for a Skylander that is, requires a lot of strategy for a big effect on your foe, which makes him extremely fun to play with. His moveset is also extremely unique.
Water- Chill. How cool! Heh! But seriously, Chill is just so much fun to play with and has such an awesome personality. The rest of Water is still generally good, but Chill froze them in their tracks. YEEEEEEEEEEAH!
Fire- Hot Head. Hot Head is a Giant I liked from the start, and his moves look extremely fun to use. He seems to have a cool personality and his catchphrase is just so punny! I actually use Blademaster Ignitor as my Elemental Champion, but he can't match the awesomeness of Hot Head. In general, I dislike Fire a lot over several more Elements because it's fairly boring to play, but Hot Head rarely lost my attention.
Tech- Sprocket.

I love all of Tech except Drill Sergeant. But Sprocket just makes it so there isn't even no contest because no contest ran home from how she steals the spot. Favorite Skylander of them all. Again... Hah!
Undead- Chop Chop. But I do not use him much now. Undead is sort of even. Other choice is... Hex I guess. She also happens to be my Elemental Champion, so. I'll just let YOU decide wether I like her or Chop Chop more. Not liking Undead this time, it was really fun yesteryear but today it's pretty much a second Earth. Ghost Roaster is also pretty cool. Always hated Cynder after an initial time of having her upgraded, and Fright and Rider are too mashy. Eye-Brawl looks very interesting though...
Air- Warnado. For the wind. Jet-Vac is sort of disappointing, Swarm is pretty much broken(DUH), Whirlwind is boring, and Sonic Boom is plain and vanilla. Lightning Rod? I think he's cool but his stationery spot using Grand Lightning and his lack of a reliable simpler ranged move sort of kills him competitively to me. And I want my Skylanders to be competitively worthwhile to at least some extent. I pretty much owned every Skylander with Warnado last year(GEDDIT?), and I have fun using him a lot. So it's good to get someone with a shell.
Life- Camo. Yesihatethelargeamountofdragonsinskylanders, but Camo is really fun to use. At least down Vine Virtuoso. His Watermelon Fountain is useful in a pinch while his Vines make a great ranged move, and his Health Regen option is awesome. And I also just need a break from the rest of Life right now. Tree Rex is pretty fun too though.

I just list my top 10 cus clearly I have no TRUE favourite. Its hard to choose.

Flashwing- One of my top faves. I love her attacks and her design. She's very fun to play as.

Pop Fizz- Same as above

Chill- This character is the one I've played as the most so far in Giants. I love her attacks. The fact that she's Water element also helps. She's by far one of the best New characters. Her design is a bit "Meh" but don't let that fool you.

Gill Grunt- This guy doesn't get the love and credit he deserves. He's GREAT when you upgrade him (Water Cannon path)- I have 2 of him down BOTH paths (2 S1 Figures and his S2 figure)- he's great and very UNDER-RATED. One of the best Water elements there is.

Trigger Happy- Can't express how much I love this guy. LOL.

Voodood- Same as above. Great character.

Chop Chop- Best Undead next to Fright Rider

Fright Rider- Best Undead of Giants thus far. Love him.

Spyro- Great skylander, he's a beast when you fully upgrade him. No hate for this guy. I love the classic spyro and I love this spyro.

Bouncer- Best Giant...I thought I'd hate him and love crusher but turns out its the opposite. Bouncer is the best Giant I've used thus far.
*Though that may change tonight when I get my Swarm- who knows).

I love alot more like Zap, Slam Bam, Cynder, Sonic Boom, Drobot, Camo, Zook and a few of the Giants (Crusher and Bouncer) but the above ones are my top faves I find myself using more then others.

I've only played Drobot (laser path), Sunburn (teleport path), Whirlwind (Rainbows), and Dino Rang (boomerang) extensively. Drobot is boring but cool and effective. Whirlwind wasn't much fun so I reset her, and I'm going to try the tempest/cloud path. Dino Rang is good fun but I don't like his earth-fist move at all. For now, Sunburn is my favorite. I like dragons. I like phoenixes. I love burninating things when I breathe, dash, and teleport.

My top 3? Thumpback, Crusher, and Hot Head. Regular are Fright Rocket, Sprocket, and Ignitor.

I swapped out Blademaster Ignitor for Volcanor Eruptor and Vampiric Warrior Chop Chop in favor of Fear Eater Ghost Roaster. I still need to do... A LOT of testing.
