To recap yes I agree that the red is the same as the purple. They are almost exactly the same. Point being both the red and purple are not the same caliber of quality as the blue. Also I have a stump smash from late in the game last year that is almost completely green and a whirlwind with an almost Unpainted horn. Again meaning that the quality was lowered over time and details were missed. I.E. these different colored lips could be that downgrade. They wouldn't make a prototype with two different colors

I think we could probably classify the red and purple lips as being a slight variation of a wrong kind of paint for her lips.
I know exactly what LordofSkulls is talking about- I found one today, it's definitely not red, and I tried to compare it with some of the others in the store but they only had one other one who had a similar purplish-pink color. This one was at Best Buy by the way. Most of the stores near me are actually out of the Chill singles for whatever reason. Guess she's popular?'

I just noticed on the TRU website they have Chill positioned in such a way so that you cannot tell the lip color, along with a slight variation on the product name 'Chill 2'. X)

color of lils is not a variant if thats the case the picture above chill with a blue tipped nose use also a variant because it was reall cold out and her nose turned BLUE.

My experience here is that the very first batch of singles had red lips. The first batch of triple packs had blue lips. All individuals released since then have purple. Purple is now the most common.

Well, paint variants are still variants. This happens in lots of lines. For instance, I collect Ben 10 figures. When these clear Wildvine figures first came out, they were all in a weird brown color, which we discovered was an error on Bandai's part because they were also making a clear Vilgax figure (the one that the brown is used for). As such, those versions are now much rarer than the regularly released green colored ones. The Chill lip variant is similar. Its especially weird because the pink isn't used anywhere else on Chill's figure so it wasn't just someone accidentally painted the wrong thing. They were deliberately painting it pink. (the same is said for the hair that I mentioned in the other thread)

Well, I would imagine multiple manufacturing lines are set up to make Chill. On the initial runs, they probably had some confusion and had red loaded for some, blue for others. They have since settled on purple. The fact than some consider this a worthwhile variant makes my head hurt. Sure, the mega collectors love the mis-print/mis-paint sort of thing (and things like wrong figure in a box), but for the average player collecting figures I don't know why this is given any notice at all. It's a mistake, not official in any way. Unless you are into manufacturing error collecting (ie mega collecting), it seems to me to be pretty dumb.
Mine has blue lips, was in a three pack. The original single I had was red, but I returned it when I ended up deciding that we were going to get the reposes and the 3 pack was a much better deal. Honestly, I prefer the blue - it goes better with the character's cold theme. Purple is fine too, but red doesn't really fit. |

When I buy the chill triple pack (Yes I know I'm behind) I am gonna get the blue-ist normal-ist chill around. I think the other ones look bad. Just like the S2 Zook with lines on his legs, not really a "Variant" and I think it looks bad so I'm not gonna buy it.
