Skip Spyros Adventure - Directly to Giants? [CLOSED]

He is... But he's worse. He really does nothing to stop you and you only see him in the last two levels. His boss fight is still pretty easy, he's really nothing... Not in any way threatening, but neither is he entertaining like Kaos is now. Ugh, I hope he doesn't return next time, but I guess it doesn't really matter against the majority liking him since I'll stop playing the 3DS versions much altogether. #hahimjustinafoulmoodtoday

So, have anyone tried to optimize their buys so that you have pay as little as possible but get all elements.
I'm trying to find the best way to do this, but it's hard cause there are so many choices.

Going over and over again and changing :/

3DS SSA starter pack (already have)
Ignitor/Dark Spyro/Stealth Elf - Fire/Magic/Life

3DS Giants starter pack:
Cynder/Pop Fiz/Tree Rex - Undead/Magic/Life

Legendary 3-pack
Ignitor (already have S1)/Slam Bam/ Jet-Vac(S2 only) - Fire/Water/Wind(S2 only)

LC Drobot - Tech
Terrafin (S2) - Earth¨

This is ONE way, now this covers 8 elements in Giants and 7 in SSA elements, correct?
It also means that I will have full S2 path/powers with all elements?
This means I need only wind in S1.

S1 Wind:
For me it comes down to:
Warnado (only drawback no extra power/extra path), Sonic Boom or Whirlwind.
Which one would YOU get? I think I will go with Whirlwind.

Did I miss something, did I list the correct skylanders?

All that is correct. My personal choice from Air is Warnado. He's a pretty memorable character down both versions, and he has a cool design and, arguably, one of the best toys from S1. However, if you would prefer someone faster at clearing enemies than Warnado Whirlwind is the way to go.

This, except fixed.

Seriously? Down Tempest Whirlwind can wreck pretty much anything in Story. She's DEFINETLY more fun than Sonic Boom on the 3DS version as well. I can't comment on the REPOSED Sonic Boom because I don't have her but her Wow Pow doesn't seem especially fun. Either way, Air is pretty mediocre/even anyway, it really comes down to what playstyle they like out of the choices...

^ I personally think Whirlwind is terrible, and Sonic Boom down the babies path (Either series.) is awesome and fun.

I don't really enjoy playing as either. I just think Tempest is more powerful. I only like EoTS from Air.

^ I enjoy both of them just as much, but Whirlwind is much weaker in my opinion.

Both are pretty powerful, but I think Whirlwind wins by a smidge just for being better at trapping.

#60 Posted: 13:54:07 09/11/2012
^ It is just that Whirlwind's Rainbows are kind of useless. Sonic Boom with the baby path is really good, the damage racks up fast, and the Screech is still really powerful.

Damn you people smilie, not making it easy for me smilie.
I was hoping for a unanimous decision.

How much am I missing out on if I go for Warnando for air?
weebbby Emerald Sparx Gems: 4220
#62 Posted: 15:16:41 09/11/2012
^ Not much, Whrilwind and Sonic Boom's Wow Pows don't improve them much at all, and Warnado is easily funner than both of them, and about just as strong as Whirlwind and Sonic Boom with their Wow Pows.

I'll list what I think are pros and cons for each.

Whirlwind
+Cool personality
+Awesome upgrades
+Very powerful (Down Tempest Dragon)
+Good for ranged trapping abilities
-Figure is mediocre compared to others
-Rainbows fairly useless (Apart from shooting them to explode onto Clouds)
Summary(Tempest Dragon): Whirlwind is quite interesting for her Tempest Matrix. This move makes it so that your Tempest Clouds are now linked by tethers of lightning which damage enemies that walk into them. These links are very strong when they hit alongside the clouds, and continually tick themselves. They do 30 damage a hit- it doesn't sound like much, but it adds up. Sadly, though, Whirlwind's other attacks are far less interesting. The Rainbow is pretty much useless as it is completely outclassed by Clouds, and does little damage, and doesn't go very far. Shooting extra rainbows by shooting them into clouds is interesting, but otherwise, Whirlwind is only effective- or fun- for getting to link and trap with clouds. But it IS very fun to do so.

Warnado
+Great stats
+Awesome upgrades
+Excellent figure
+VERY unique playstyle
-Slower than most at taking out big enemies
-Struggles in some group situations
Summary(Eye of The Storm): Make no mistake, Warnado is one of the most clever characters out there. But- you need to use all his attacks at the same time for him to be extremely effective. If that is not your style and you like to rush in and destroy to a pulp, quit this writing right here and just know you can ignore Warnado. If that is your style, you are in for a treat. Warnado has a great standard melee attack that can be used to get across maps very fast, and a flight in which he can launch reliable projectiles or slam down for greater damage. His tornadoes are a great trick move to keep enemies out of spots, or just distract one or two. The only major woes are that he can struggle taking down more bulky enemies due to his playstyle and that in turn means he might suffer against some groups of tougher minion sets- but he's usually very strong against those anyway when you play him right. Warnado is all about how you play with him. This is what makes him fun.

Sonic Boom
+Very powerful (Down Medea Griffin)
+Babies are cute!
+All moves are useful
+Great in pretty much all situations
-Range is short compared to other ranged fighters
-Very vanilla playstyle (Meaning you're probably just going to do the same thing all the time with her, against everything)
Summary(Medea Griffin): Sonic Boom is interesting. Although her babies are meant to be an attack on their own, they suffer as that. What really makes Sonic Boom so effective in combat is that she can toss out the eggs as grenades. Coupled with her scream, and easy mobility through flight, this makes Sonic Boom outright and straight powerful. Sadly, this makes her somewhat boring as this is usually the only thing you'll do with her... Toss out egg grenades and occasionally scream. However, if you simply want to mash to death Sonic Boom is a wise pick.

It's really a question of this.
If you want a ranged character good at trapping enemies, pick Whirlwind.
If you want a generally strong character, pick Sonic Boom.
If you want a weaker but more versatile and unique melee character, pick Warnado.
Based on your other descisions, I would say Warnado would bring the most variety to your team, so I would go with him. You already have a good set of ranged players to back your adventures with.
To sum up my thoughts, for you I would go
Warnado > Sonic Boom > Whirlwind

^WOW, thanks A LOT.

One thing I feel confused about is this line:
"But- you need to use all his attacks at the same time for him to be extremely effective..."

What do you mean? Can you really use ALL attacks at the same time or do you mean that you have to switch it up?
Again, AWESOME POST smilie

#65 Posted: 15:47:10 09/11/2012
Switch it up. There are actually a couple of attacks you can use at the same time though- most notably, during a Turtle Slam you can launch a tornado! That's a pretty big thing when you're trying to knock something down.
And you're welcome, I do lots of recommendations, so it's just usual for me. smilie

Bought the Legendary Pack today.
Does Ignitor have a different in game weapon?
Nibelilt Ripto Gems: 401
#67 Posted: 20:08:11 11/11/2012
He starts off with a different sword(you can see on his S1 figure and his S1 art).
Before picking a path you can upgrade it into the axe on his figure, and then you can go down Soul of The Flame and keep the axe or go down Blademaster for a different sword.

Well you can't really find series 1 in stores anymore because Giants came out but some stores still do have them. So you are going to have to resort to EBay or Amazon. The expensive (rare) ones are:

Air:
Lightning Rod:$15-$20
Warnado:$15-$20
Earth:
None really, although Dino-Rang might be on the expensive side. (around $12)
Fire:
Ignitor:Can be cheap or expensive gotta wait for good deals on him.
Sunburn:Same as above, a little more expensive though.
Life:
Camo:$15-$20
Zook:Same as Ignitor and Sunburn, got mine today for $7
Magic:
Dark Spyro:$20-$30 (I think you already have him)
Voodood:$12-$15
Tech:
Boomer:$15-$20
Undead:
Cynder:Not a lot of listings for her so it makes her that much more expensive in some auctions, $8-$15
Ghost Roaster:Along with Sunburn (forgot to mention) the adventure packs are still available for $20 online at Gamestop and Toysrus
Water:
The infamous Wham Shell:$20-$30
Zap:$15-$30

What I did is bought Giants for my Wii release date and have been buying the S1 triple packs online. They tend to be cheaper than the S2. Then i'll start buying the 8 "newlanders" and 8 giants. Plus i'm asking for that new S:SA xbox bundle as I don't have a XBox or S:SA so everything is kinda working out.

You should. Then if you decide to collect them all you'll have less remorse, and if you don't you just have more characters to play with.

Found Dragons Peak for 129 SEK (shipped, around 18 USD), so ordered.
Crypt, still no luck.

My plan now is getting all S1 NOT reposed and then wait for drops for S2 figures.

Made one mistake though, ordered Voodood (with some other figures) before realizing there is a triple pack available with Boomer, Voodood and Prism Break.
I could send back Voodood but it's basically not worth it...

So, I will probably just bite the sour and take it with an extra Voodood, maybe I can sell it later and get my money back.

EDIT2: Just realised I spent like 200 dollars on 2 games (Giants+SSA) and only getting 2 games. What a rip off smilie
I just love collecting stuff, but it's too expensive smilie
