Aha, I ordered two - one for me and one for another Aussie forum member. I also ordered one of the SL paperbacks as the cost of the book pushed me over $25 and I got free shipping (hence actually saving money as the shipping would have been more than the book).

I am beating myself up about having missed this opportunity. I am just hoping the stress is on exclusive and not variant figure and it becomes available again. I really like the looks of tis figure and it has me exicited for giants.

I expect this to be a hint that the big six: TRU, amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy and Gamestop will all have day one exclusives this time around

It's a Flameslinger in Giants packaging (As well as being in his new Series 2 pose) but a gold-orange color. Apparently, it's only exclusive to Amazon, and they've since taken it down. (probably due to selling out of preorders)

Yeah, sorry, as I said in my email to you, I rushed the order and did not think it through; at the time I was thinking you did not want one.

My dad was able to get a preorder in before it closed, but yesterday morning he said the order had been cancelled because it was something not in stock or something like that.
I would try checking to see if you still have your orders in case.

Don't forget tax and shipping and handling. All in all, it comes to $14.97, although according to all the stuff that kept telling me about the amazon visa card, if you used that it'd be free.

They might just come back in stock when the game comes out and be as common as Red Drill Sargent and then EVERYONE WILL BE HAPPY!!!

ACcording to the email it was because they were testing the item.
If that's true and I had to take a guess, they probably wanted to see how many they might need."Testing the waters" so to speak.

Eh, not mad or anything. I trust amazon more than any other site and at least they let you know early. I have a feeling we'll see it closer to October.

Pretty cool variant-better than the other ones I guess. Looks like the series two figs are going to be better looking than their series one counterparts. So, will this variant work in Giants as well as in the game now?

^It should do, the Series2 boxes (and character trailers) have little tick boxes that show if a figure is compatable with SA.

I agree but unfortunately they generally seem to get categorised as a software item and, hence, get lumbered with the implication that they are region specific.

No, there has been no such rumour so far - the Kindle demo merely showed you the ability to order it and there was not even a suggestion that ordering it through the Kindle was the only way of getting it.

I foresee that you mentioning it now will make it a rumour and within days sheeple will take it as gospel.

No rumor, but I thought a lot about it the moment I discovered what they're doing with Cloud Patrol and you gotta admit, that would be a great way to get people to purchase the various models of Kindle Fire.

On top of that, Activision/Amazon would very likely set limits on the number of figures each account can get and they're more likely to get those figures into the hands of actual fans since it'll be available through Cloud Patrol...and it'll very likely be available worldwide too instead of just Amazon in the US!

Overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives I think. An easy way to shop for Skylanders online at reasonable pricing, isn't that what we've wanted?

I wish this was true but there is no reason why the Kindle would not simply interrogate the "local" Amazon store to find what is available and that means Goldie may still be local to US only.

For example, there is no Oz Amazon; you get redirected to the UK one so "local" is a nebulous term...
