"You'll never get away with this Gaul!" Cynder said as she tried to yank the chain off of her neck. "Oh, but it is too late for you now, Cynder. Even as we speak, the Night of Eternal Darkness draws near and the escaping of my master is on the horizon. Perhaps the Dark Master will take you back as a slave or you can have the honor of being the first to perish under his claws." Gaul said ending with an evil laugh.

Cynder waited in agony as the Night of Eternal Darkness drew closer, and then she heard news of hope. She overheard one of Gaul's minions speaking of the purple dragon invading the mountain. Cynder then discovered that there may still be hope, she could put her plan from the pirate ship into further action.

Suddenly, Spyro barreled into Gaul's chamber. "I will enjoy watching you being destroyed by your own friend!" Gaul said malevolently. Cynder knew that this was her chance, so she flew out from the shadows. "The nightmare never ends!" Sparx yelled. 'I will have to get Sparx for that' Cynder thought, but she had no more time for thoughts, just action "Same as last time, line me up with his staff." Cynder whispered to Spyro.

Again they staged the fight as they had in the colleseum. But this time when Cynder jumped, Spyro dodged and Cynder aimed to destroy Gaul's staff, but instead Gaul threw her against the wall and she saw no more as she blacked out.

When Cynder awoke, she knew that the Eternal Darkness had come, and that Spyro was stuck in the convextiy. She also knew that if Spyro didn't get out soon, he too would become like a slave to the Dark Master like she once was.

Sparx was already futiley attempting to get Spyro back to normal, but when Spyro snapped at him Sparx backed up and said, "Whoa, Whoa, relax its me buddy!" "Spyro you have to try to break free!" Cynder called. She watched as Spyro tried to escape, turning from black to purple, to black again. "I-I can't." He said helplessly.

Knowing what would happen if she didn't hurry, Cynder jumped into the air and knocked Spyro out of the convexity, immediatly reverting him back to normal. "Wha-what happened?" Spyro asked weakly. "Its okay, you're with friends." Cynder said calmingly. Just then, the mountain began caving in around them, and Spyro tried to get up, but failed. "Just go." He said.

"No, we're not leaving without you Spyro!" Cynder insisted. "Normally I would say ignore her, but she's making sense this time!" Sparx shouted above the rumble of rocks. 'I guess that I don't have to get back at him now' Cynder thought.

Just then a huge boulder blocked the entrance "We're trapped." Spyro admitted sadly. Cynder lost all hope, and she could tell Sparx then too. Suddenly, it felt as if some presence was in the room, and from out of nowhere, Spyro gained the strength to stand. "Everyone get close to me now!" Spyro demanded.

Cynder, not at all feeling any hesitation wanted to get as close to Spyro as she could, so she slowly got close to him, and the world seem to slow as Spyro froze them in a cocoon that protected them from the crumbling mountain and the changing world around them.
