Currently, the problem we're having is that you can't see the pages on any site without either being over 18 or finding them on a porn site (which we obviously cannot link to here).

I had to do the latter. Not sure if I'm not if I'm interested enough to risk getting caught looking at it, kinda like MLP!smilie

There is a page 20 and Mel is still doing the comic but she won't be posting any more of it to dA because the Cyndorks were being brats about it.

Damn. Two questions:

1. Any examples as to how they were being brats?
2. Where would she post them now?

They were whining about "oh no cynder can't die your so evil" and all that crap. Probably just little kids.

dA is pretty infamous for being a site crawling with Cyndorks. A lot of the Spyro fans on the site are younger and/or don't know when to separate reality from fiction. You can probably find all the examples of the whining you want by looking at the comments to the pages she did post on dA. All the new pages are being posted to her adult gallery on FurAffinity.

I've got all the pages and I could possibly post them through something like Photobucket, but I don't have Mel's permission to do that.

Oh wow. I'm not surprised.

Dammit. Are you telling me I have to make an account there of all places?

Dear Cyndorks,

Characters eventually reach the end of their lifespan. It's canon that Cynder didn't die, so what's wrong with a fan making a non-canon story about her death, which doesn't really happen. It's the same case with shipping. It's canon that Cynder is either single, or with Spyro. So what's wrong with someone making a fanfiction about Spyro with Ember or Elora, or Cynder with Nero (for some reason I don't get)? In Spyro's case, all of those shippings were possible, and you guys like to believe that Classic Spyro has nothing to do with LoS. If that's the case, then you shouldn't have any problems with Spyro being in a relationship with a Classic character, when it's a completely different storyline. But you seem to believe that Cynder is the almighty god and that nothing can happen. But all of the fanfictions and fanart out there are not canon, ergo they didn't happen. So relax before I drink Canada Dry out of your hollowed skulls. Thank you and have a nice day.

Fellow Cynder fan and Common Sense Mercenary,

CAV

Alas, I've tried that logic on them and it doesn't work. D:

I kind of get the NeroxCynder hate, but that's entirely because Fergil/Nero/whatever-his-name-is is kind of a giant jerk. I don't go out of my way to bash the people drawing it, though; a number of them have more or less been suckered in by the guy. He reminds me a lot of someone I got conned into doing art for early in my Spyro fandom involvement (though I know they're not the same person).

I still don't get the Nero thing. I don't even know who exactly created the character when you see all of the commissions people have done for this character. But how exactly is he a jerk?

He just pressures people and shet like that. People like the pairing for whatever reason. Some of the art is good though, but I know it's not from him.

I don't actually think Fergil has ever paid a single artist. He basically just begs them for art and ignores them outside of the art they've drawn for him. I wasn't too thrilled with his idea of what an equal relationship is, but whatever.

FA is not a site worth having an account on, trust me. I'm not linking to the pages on that site for a very specific reason.

I am talking to Mel about making a dA group for the comic. She recently posted the latest page on the site and I'm hoping having a group where whiners can be blocked will encourage her to keep the comic on dA.

What I did was create a dA account with an age over 18 to view all the pages. But she didn't upload the 20th page onto dA, so I googled "Spyro a Bittersweet End 20" and it was the first result, so I didn't have to visit any extra crap

Still, it's a shame she's not uploading the rest of the comic on dA. But I don't blame her.
On one page, there was a fan saying "IF YOU DON"T STOP THIS COMIC RIGHT NOW, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU" or something along those lines. But, isn't there a way you can take the option to comment away on your artwork?
Oh, and somebody reuploaded a page of her comic with the title "Kayla-na is heartless". http://cynderxspyroluver.devia...tless-190824501

She may or may not know that you can disable comments on dA. I'll let her know about that, too. If it comes down to it and she's agreeable with this, I may ask if I can just post the pages to the group proper when it's made (I've already got it going through the process) so she doesn't have to bother with the fan brats.

Honestly, if I didn't have better things to do, I would be tempted to make a similar violent comic, but I've sworn off trolling Cyndorks for now and I think running the group will be enough to fulfill my spiteful urges. smilie

I saw, and luckily, it didn't have the sctrict filter, either smilie

If she finds a way to keep it on dA, I think that'd be great, because I think there's plenty more people that enjoy the comic than those who're stupid enough to look at it and complain, when they well know what it is.

To see you make something like that would be funny, but I'm not sure whether or not it would backfire! I mean, you might just draw in some Cynder fantards that bug you and complain about the comic and how you could be so 'heartless'.

Oh, I already draw in Cyndorks just for having art of her and Ember being friends. smilie I did once in the past draw Cynder's severed head (followed by my own and then several more people, including about three people who bought the severed head badges smilie). Then I drew my then-avatar wearing her head as a hat. smilie There was soooo much "baww!"ing and one guy left in a huff because I was "such a sick and terrible person" (hilariously, the very first thing Stoker saw in his +faves was something a lot worse). It was a fun day. smilie Similar fanbrat screaming happened on Halloween when I drew little Ember killing Dark Cynder and then wearing her heart as a trophy; I did it for fun but everyone else thought it was "OMG, so serious!". smilie

Edit: The dA group is up now! It's pretty quiet in there while I'm sorting stuff out with Mel, but it exists now.

Alas, any time I draw Cynder it tends to polarize people. I think it's because I've been on both sides of the fence with her (I was practically the original Cyndork and you can see my art in crappy shipping vids to this day, and I became one of the most outspoken haters of her later, going so far as to actively troll her fans for a brief time). If I draw positive art of her I get a ton of unwanted praise from some and condescending disapproval from others. If I draw anything even just a little dismissive of her all Hell breaks loose and I get a storm of obnoxious comments and notes from concerned friends.

Given that I've been trying to focus on doing my own work, I question the wisdom of continuing to be very active in this fandom, especially the Cynder portion of it.

All that being said, if I could think of a worthwhile idea for killing off DotD Cynder it would be fun but I've kind of gone past the wish to do that sort of thing. I drew Ember ripping her throat out, but that was entirely because it was fun to see Ember being a kick butt warrior type for a change. smilie Every other drawing of Cynder is generally a calculated jab at her fans (which tends to be very subtle on my part and not particularly violent in most cases since all it really takes to cheese them off is draw her making out with Ember smilie). I'm not exactly a gore/violence fan with my art (even though drawing blood smears is fun).

It's a shame. Obviously I came around when you were your hateful self about the character, and the way you describe yourself back then makes me curious as to how exactly you acted. Because dispite how hard I try to figure it out, the art never really spells it out completely, and I don't want to make assumptions without hearing from the person herself.

The same could be said with me and the Sonic fandom. I question as to if I should bother with them, especially after the Sonic 4 fiasco. In the end I decided to leave, mostly because I became more interested with other games. But the biggest reason I decided to leave is because the Spyro freak inside me was emerging once again, and I'm a part of too many forums to try and be on darkSpyro as well as Soah City (the Sonic forum I was a part of). And then I remembered that I had an account here from April of 2010. So in December I decided to become full active in the forums. Besides, due to troll attacks and staff changes, Soah is pretty much dead. smilie

I remember that art. I was left wondering if you actually made that, since you're not one to draw gore. But I liked it, and I kinda wanted to see more. Then I remembered how I had no money. smilie

But if you do one day decide to give it a shot, I'll be your shield against the Cyndorks. smilie

Much of the bad stuff that went down has, more or less, been erased from the web as of now. I did my share of stupid things that made it all worse and, at least at the time, my ego was getting a bit big (being really popular in a niche fandom when you've never had those experiences before can really screw you up). I like to think I've gotten better since then, but I don't really know. *shrug*

I seem to only have the capacity for one fandom at a time. smilie Though, alas, my experiences in Spyro fandom have made me wary of all other fandoms; as a general rule, I try to avoid them. I'm not sure what it is that keeps in this fandom, honestly. Likely it's a potent mix of old habits that won't die, boredom, and having nothing better to do at present (though lord knows I could probably really make something of myself if I stopped wasting so much time around here :/ ).

I'm not a gore fan and I don't like gallons of blood, but a little bit of red goes a long way and is rather fun to work with. smilie

Besides the naughty art, there has to have been things that you've said that proved your Cyndork-i-ness. I can't really tell you if you improved unless I see proof of how you acted back then in text. For example, did you ever say "NOOOOOOO! CYNDER IS DA ONLY 1 FO SPYROOOOO!"?

Yeah. I tried to juggle the Sonic and Spyro fanbases a few months back, but I couldn't do it. And unlike at Soah, I have friends here, so the choice of which one to stick with was obvious. At that point, I cut ties with the Sonic fanbase, and every time I do sign into Soah, it's a ghost town that doesn't even talk about Sonic.

Maybe you stick around because you have friends here. *shrug*

Gore in art to me is the same as gore in video games: It never bugged me, and I barely notice it.

Just remember one thing though: If I get a little hostile at them, feel free to hold me back if you want.

I wasn't really like the Cyndork of today. I defended the SxC pairing pretty hard (back then everyone was thinking they were related or just friends, so it was a unique 'ship; ironically, I much prefer them as siblings or friends now). I did a lot of ranting and a lot of pro-Cynder art (which made being friends with a fellow who was anti-Cynder from the start a lot of fun smilie). I also came down really hard on anyone who used my fan art without my explicit permission (these days I'll say something if I find it, but I try to be nice about it; as long as no one is claiming they drew it or trying to sell it, I'm cool).

I do have friends here and I don't... Most of the major friends I made through Spyro fandom weren't on this site and have long since moved on. I still like you guys, but none of us really know each other that well. I'm pretty confident that if I just wandered away from dS and never came back nobody would really notice. *shrug*

While I'm very good at drawing blood and gore, it's ironic that I have a serious phobia centered around it. smilie A little bit of blood spatter is fine, but anything worse than that and I start getting sick (even if it's just implied, like Lara Croft being impaled in the old Tomb Raider games; you didn't see anything graphic, but the implication of impalement always upset me).

As long as you aren't feeding any trolls or getting into a nasty fight, I'm pretty blase about that sort of thing happening in my vicinity. smilie

Well I know about your thoughts on art theft. I saw those. *coughDearYoutubecough*

Well, judging from that stuff, I'd say you have improved. You've gotten a lot more spiteful though. I think we're at the same level of spitefulness. I also find it ironic how I was cheery and such around the exact same time. I cannot mark the exact point as to when I snapped though.

I don't think that's a true statement. A lot of people would be upset if you walked away. I know I would. You're a great person to talk to and you know a lot. My ranting and debate skills have been formed and inspired by a lot of people, and you're one of them. When I first became active here I noticed that you were a part. I also noticed that you left and that sucked. It was great to see you come back.

And it's easier said than done to be talk on dA, since my activity there is plumetting due to all the places I'm a part of. darkSpyro is the only site I'm truely active in out of the........6 sites I'm a part of (not including Youtube).

I can't think of any phobias that I have in games or art. I do have a phobia of headshots in movies. I can tolerate it in games and art, but in Brothers when that dude almost killed himself via brain-slushie, I was scared half to death.

Well I'll need you to moderate and make sure I don't.

Ugh, yeah... That's an old piece and I don't necessarily hold those same views now.

Yes, I am full of bitterness. smilie It started in March of 2009 and just got worse (a lot worse) from there. Now I try not to dwell on it too much, but I do still have a slight knee-jerk reaction to some things (screaming about SxC being the only true pairing in my gallery will get you blocked immediately, though you can be unblocked if you find a way to talk to me off the site and we can reach an agreement).

Aww, thanks. smilie I do have some fun here and I'll probably stick around, but it doesn't change the fact that some of you guys are literally young enough to be my kids. It's not always a proud moment to realize that you're almost 30 and you're biggest source of activity is talking with kids about a kids game you seem to take far more seriously than they do. >.>

Oh, my phobia isn't centered around movies. D: I am horrified by the thought of vital organs being outside of a living body. This applies to surgery as much as it applies to watching it happen in films. Even though I know it's fake, I will still have horrendous nightmares if I watch the wrong kind of scary movie. o.o

Really? I figured that you still would flag someone for art theft. I did like how you said "This. Is. The last straw.". It sounded like something from a movie trailer.

For me it started a few months after I lost my mother, which was in June of 2009. So I guess you can say October maybe? I don't really know. I just snapped. And rather than be bitter, I'm just straight up full of spite. Yeah, you can be prickly. But I'm the devil to some users because I make too many good points while being blunt about it. Like the ones in that site that banned me for being a "bad influence".

I don't think we're young enough to be your kids. For the most part, you would've had to have a kid while under 18. For example, you were 15 when I was born. That's underage, no?

And hey, it's not that bad. Remember, you confused me for someone in their 20s. That's gotta count for something. *shrug*

That doesn't really scare me. I remember always watching that kind of stuff on Discovery Health when I was a kid. I do, however, have a phobia of The Human Centipede. I don't want to see that film. D:

For the most part what activates it is the suspense and the music that surrounds it when someone is about to do it.

These days I just don't watch Spyro AMVs. smilie Though if I see any using my art to bash Cynder (of which there was only one) or using it for comedy, it makes my day.

We all have our moments and places where we're like that. You seem like a very well-though, well-spoken fellow to me. smilie

It's underage, but the family I grew up in has dozens of instances of teenagers having kids. :/ When I was sixteen people often thought my baby brother or the kids I babysat for were mine. o.o I come from a part of the country where people my age are usually on their fourth kid by now (while I steadfastly have none and plan to keep it that way). But, really, it's just the generation gap. There are things I just can't talk about with you guys and it's not because I don't like you, it just wouldn't be right in some cases and in others the generation gap between us makes it impossible.

Oh, I love nature documentaries and used to watch animals eat each other alive while I had dinner. o.O But if I stop to think about it it bothers me and if I see it live it makes me really sick. As for The Human Centipede...ugh. I don't ever want to see that, either. D:

I don't bother any AMVs anymore. When I did, it was always Spyro or Bionicle AMVs. Nowadays if I ever see one, it's simply because it has a song that I like and I don't have on my Walkman (yeah I use a modern day Walkman).

Before my mother's death, I was a raging fanboy of many things. Bionicles, Sonic, not really Spyro to the point where I would join this site though. After she died everything just slowly fell into place and here I am today. I honestly think that's one of the few positive things to come out of her death. *shrug*

It's still underage and against the law. smilie

And I always get confused as to where you live. It's Washington state, right?

Nature documentaries are ok. I liked Discovery Life.......until I heard Oprah's narraration (that was just bad). For the most part I levitate towards astronomy documentaries (not surprisingly), and a few about health.

I saw the trailer and I didn't want to see it. Then BlackBusterCritic just had to describe how the procedure would go in the film, and how the centipede was surgically kept together.

In response to what Razz said earlier about not wanting to upload things due to comments:

Only listen to ones that are constructive. You should draw what you want and upload what you want. I know it may seem hard, but you should do it anyway. It was incredibly hard for me to write my two fanfictions, let alone upload them. I also had a fear that my first Cynder picture would draw in the wrong attention.

I wouldn't like to see you gone. And people talked about you when you left before, in a positive way.

As for fandoms I'm in, just Spyro for forums, but I am pretty active in the LBP community most of the time. And I am sort of part of the Sonic fandom.

As for violence, I don't really get squirmish anymore. Often times, violence doesn't make a picture/movie/game emotional for me, but rather what the violence is connected to. In the case of ABE, it's a character I'm extremely attached to being eaten alive. However, the gore itself wasn't that bad.

That's all I can keep track of!smilie

Oh, the commenters haven't stopped Mel from doing the comic, she just doesn't want to post it to dA. Believe me, when you get a flood of whiny comments on something you worked hard on, it's annoying enough to make you uninterested in sharing any more of your work with that crowd.

Huh. I had no idea. The impression I most frequently get from a lot of Spyro fans is that they want me to go. smilie

Again, you really have no idea how annoying it is to work hard on something and then get buried under whining comments. At this point, telling me to ignore them comes far too late. What few Spyro projects I had (with the exception of NDiA) were canned a long time ago and I will not be picking them back up.

That's what I said about the Skylanders development team. It sucks, but they are able to move on.

Just tell her to disable comments. And she should note that those are comments from people that have accounts. For all she knows, there could be much more people that like it, that aren't members on dA and therefore cannot comment on art.
