i love how this turned into a discussion about pot

I've only done pot twice and I am hesitant to ever do it again (though it is the only thing that's ever solved my chronic pain problems). The first time was fun, the second time was really, really bad (as in, it sent me to the hospital and I was in bad shape for several days after). I do regret not being able to play the original Spyro that way, though, just to see what it might have been like.

Being as young as I am, I've never, and never plan on, doing any type of drugs. I don't even plan to experiment. That's how it all starts, isn't it? I've grown up around an addict, and it's been really tough. It really gives you perspective on what drugs can do to people.

I come from a family of alcoholics and drug abusers, so it's nothing I ever really wanted to try. I always said I might try pot if it were legal and, at the time I did it and the state I was in, it was. I certainly have no interest in taking it for recreational purposes, but it may be my only option for pain control (and, again, I still have to think hard about it given how horrible my second experience with it was). As for alcohol, I've never been interested and I think it tastes vile.

For the record, I didn't do any of this stuff until I was legally old enough to do it (I'm almost 30 and my pot experiences were fairly recent; my opinion on alcohol has been the same since I turned 21).

I drink alcohol, but not constantly every night, probably once a month. I like Brandy and Whiskey, all the other stuff tastes horrible, and now that I drink it, I actually can't get drunk anymore, I think my body must be used to it by now. I never want to try drugs, although alcohol is a drug. I know a friend who likes to smoke pot, but he doesn't do it all the time, probably once every few months, in my opinion, alcohol isn't as bad without drugs, but with drugs, it is insane, when drinking alcohol, you just got to respect it and take your time with it, the thing is, I know when to stop at the right time.

And I haven't done anything, despite being legally at the age to do so. Peh, alcohol tastes awful, wouldn't start it anyway.

My Dad tricked me into drinking Guinness when I was 3 years old (he removed the cream to make me think it was Coca-Cola. I kind of knew it wasn't Coca-Cola, but I just said, "what the hell!" and tasted it).... it was HORRIBLE!
A group of my friends(I'm not friends with them now, but I'm certainly not enemies with them) once offered me a cigarette when I was 8, but I literally just walked off, without a word.

I took "the pledge" at my Confirmation and I intend to stick with it, despite the fact I don't consider myself Christian or even religious anymore. I am often dragged into pubs and family gatherings, and watching people smoke and drink makes me not want to do it, and I could almost be considered a smoker with the amount of smoke I have to take in passively.

I could of had to take pot as part of a peer education program, but I wasn't picked for the program. The people who were picked and took the pot said they were "chasing a dragon around the room".

My parents were never keen on making me drink when I was young, the first time I had any was when I was 9 (it was midnight on January 1st 2000. Yep, a millenium party), and that's when I realised I just hated it. As I've gotten older, there's been more pressure on me to have a glass at family meals and stuff, but I'm as stubborn as a donkey an they know it. Never been pressured to smoke or take drugs though, mum actually had to quit it.

I've been pressurised to have a smoke, I just said "No", but one time they kept asking and asking me to do it and in the end I told them to **** off, it was annoying me. I've never been pressurised to drink, that was my decision and I enjoy a good drink, especially if I have been working hard.

I will be 16 next April and people will probably pressure me to drink then. Some people in my class drink(but their great, fun people) and also, some of my cousins and what not might pressure me, but if they want me to do it, they would have to physically force me to, and I don't intend to let that happen.

I only did pot two or three times. The last time I did it I got bleary eyes and 'pasties' (thick spit). That's it. Curiosity satisfied I have no desire to do it again.

it's awesome( and by awesome I mean hilarious) how a topic about where the idea for tlos came from led to a conversation about drugs and alchohol!

Same here. I am not intrested in ruining my life.

It hasn't ruined my life, lol. Only if you use it responsibly and respectfully, you'll do fine.

But when you're young, it's easier to get carried away, even if you don't intend on doing so.

I'm 17, and I started when I was 15, in my opinion, and from people who know me, I know what I am doing and when to stop.

Do we care? No. That's your busines..
