Chapter 6: The New Mentor

The three elders that were kidnapped were taken to different places. Terrador was hidden in Munitions Forge, Cyril in Tall Plain's, and Volteer in Dante's Freezer. All three of these places had been overrun by my guards, and not even the strongest dragon could ever escape.

No one even noticed Geroken was gone. Besides him, every ape seemed to have a heart of stone. Actually, it seemed harder than stone... Maybe ice... Or a rock frozen in ice. Whatever it was, the apes were heartless and no one cared if one or two were gone.

But I did.

Instead of a funeral, or even someone saying they missed him, they just gave me a brand new mentor named Yascero. He was young, and slightly ignorant. The only reason he accepted the job of training me was because he said he 'liked animals'.

"Good girl," he would say to me like I was his pet. "No!" he would yell sternly when I did something wrong.

I hated him with all of my heart. If I could do one thing, it would have been to singe the little pest to a pile of ashes.

I had to come forward and tell everyone that the purple dragon had hatched. Immediatly, thousands of apes all over the planet were sent to find him. I knew that this coward's years of hiding were over. It was just a matter of time before the purple dragon was found and killed.

And I would be the one trying to kill him.

Chapter 7: Found

The purple dragon turned out to have been raised by no more than mere dragonflies. I could not help but laugh a little. When a group of apes (all who were killed accept one) went out in search of the purple dragon in the forest, I got a message back saying he had been found.

Apperantly, he was raised by dragonflies.

I shook my head. No self-respected dragon would ever be raised by pesky bugs! From what I had heard, the dragonflies were unaware of the dark master, or the dragon war, or anything. Which meant Ignitus had done a very good job of hiding the powerful dragon.

But now he had been found.

So I went after him, the same place the apes had said he had been. And there he was. A pathetic little hatchling with a yellow bug trailing him around. I swooped over him, casting a shadow over his dark purple scales.

I heard him scream. Pathetic little dragon! I watched him run into a cave, where I could just barely see a gleam of red-orange: I had found Ignitus as well.

But it was too late, if I went to attack now, I would be defeated. So I had to fly off, and report that the purple dragon had indeed be found.

And hopefully, soon killed.

Chapter 8: Worry

I was scared that the purple dragon was stronger than he looked. It was nearly impossible, for he was only a hatchling, but I still had to be cautious. I got word from a badly injured ape that said that the purple dragon broke into the temple with Ignitus... And killed all the rest. So he was pretty strong... But probably not as strong as me.

Then I heard not even a day later that he was in Dante's Freezer. He wouldn't survive that, would he? Geroken himself had trained everyone in there to be the strongest around.

But he did succeed.

Before I could get there to stop him, he had saved Volteer and escaped. Not even the strongest monster of them all was able to defeat him. Because of this, I sent a giant monster to guard the rest of the elders. One in Tall Plains, one in Munitions Forge, and one in my own castle.

But he saved Cyril as well.

Then I got word he was traveling to Munitions Forge, the strongest, most guarded area of the dragon world. But he had learned to breathe ice, and it was easy for him. So I knew I would have to beat him there.

I remeber well flying as fast as I could, barely able to see where I was heading. I had to dive down, straight into lava. My flame ability was able to keep me from burning as I watched the purple dragon defeat the monster I has assigned, Steam.

He ran over to Terrador, who began talking to him. At this, I worked up enough power to leap from the lava and attack. Terrador yelled, "Fly Spyro, like you've never flown before!"

I roared menicingly at Terrador and attacked. We fought back and fourth for a long time, but I didn't realize the purple dragon, who I learned was named Spyro, was flying away.

I turned on him... He wasn't getting away this time!

Chapter 9

I chased after Spyro, just at his tail. But somehow, he was faster than I. I decided to chase him into the volcano, where I had dreadwings and canons ready to fire. Somehow, he evaded every one. Finally, we made it out, and I was weaker than he was.

I had caught up to him, though, and I knew it was it.

Until I felt something scratch me, and grab my claw, pulling me away. When I looked, I realized it was Ignitus, ready to defend Spyro with his life if he had to. I fought back, and I saw Spyro's expression change to fear for the closest thing he had ever had to a father.

I grinned to myself, happy to see the purple dragon himself so fearful of me. I was not only the strongest monster in the world, but in his mind the scariest. I was filled with evil excitement. Just to show off, and to capture the long-lost elder, I pinned him down by his wings, making him lose altitude.

He both fell, and soon the purple dragon dissapeared from view.

I took Ignitus back to my castle where I tied him up. I began draining his energy, sure that the dark master would be coming back by dawn. Still, the purple dragon getting away scared me.

How could anything so small and pathetic escape me, dreawings, lava, and plasma canons? He was pretty strong, I now realized.

He was too strong.

Chapter 10

Just as I had worried, Spyro soon arrived at my castle. I followed him quietly, watching him just in case he found ignitus. Grinning, I knew he wouldn't be able to defeat my minions.

But I was wrong.

He beat all of them. Ice here, fury there, horn charge here. Ugh! I just couldn't stand him being so good. I was soon fed up, and I flew towards a window inside the castle. The dragonfly with him turned and saw me.

At this, I gasped and flew off very quickly. I was happy that the dragonfly was intimidated, but worried that the two had made it so far already. Before I knew it, Spyro had reached Ignitus. I flew down just as Spyro was talking about releasing Ignitus.

"if only it were that easy, little one," I snarled, surrounding him. "It's time you learned how complecated life can be." I stood up and prepared to fight, knocking him backwards with my head. Spyro got up, dazed, and Ignitus yelled something about saving Spyro. This all happened so long ago that I can't remeber what it was.

"Not this time, this time I fight." Spyro replied, growling. He turned towards me.

I cackled. "Bring it," I challenged. With that we began fighting. To my suprise, he was incredibly good - Better than I had ever thought. He was going to beat me. Suddenly, when I thought all hope was lost, I gained strength from the darkness within me.

I cackled once more. "It's so sad it has to end this way." I said. Spyro came running at me, but it charged back and he bounced backwards, momentarily knocked out.

I flew over to Ignitus. "Now, where was I?" Ignitus dropped to the ground, and I burst out the top of the castle. I flew into the Convexity portal.

Before I could, I saw a few dragons out of the corner of my eye. I dissmissed them, not caring less who they where. As I zipped down the portal, I heard one yell, "That's Cynder, my mom's-"

"No, it might disturb the time sequence, we must move!" another interrupted. They flew away, and I ignored it. Later, I wouldn't even remeber that they exsisted, for it was all so random.

Finally I reached convexity, where I flew over to a glowing ray. I was ready to release Malefor.

Chapter 11: Convexity

I could see Spyro as I walked over to the portal. I ignored him, knowing he wouldn't get to me in time. I walked over to the glowing portal and placed a purple gem in front of it. I grinned evilly, "My master returns." I told myself as the gem floated in the air and into the portal.

Spyro ran up from behind me. "We're to late!" he exclaimed, giving away his hiding place and the element of suprise (I felt as though I was fighting an idiot).

"Persistant little fellow, aren't you?" I asked bitterly, turning around to face my pathetic foe. I padded towards him menicingly. "This is where it really ends." I challenged.

Spyro growled. "Bring it!"

"No mercy this time," I hissed, flexing my wings to show of and look intimidating. The small dragonfly turned away and murmured something I couldn't understand.

I grinned and lunged to attack. Soon, we were in a true battle - But he was suprisngly strong. He actually weakened me to a point I had almost no strength left. I rose up, and with all the power I had left and created a huge fire fury, knocking him almost unconscious.

Suddenly, he got up and looked stronger than ever. Taking a deep breath, he began shooting pure, purple power. I tried to dodge it, but just couldn't. Suddenly, he rose into the air, and time seemed to stop. A giant portal appeared, and dragon heads made of flaming power attacked me. My insides burned, and I was sure it was the end. My body wouldn't move, I was just frozen. I could barely even breathe. Everything around me was blurry. I fell, unconscious.

I weakly opened my eyes and turned to Spyro. Before I could say anything, I felt all the darkness leave me. I felt the fear return, and the pain return, but I felt the evil leave. I closed my eyes, unconscious once more.

I suddenly felt myself fall into the dark portal. I knew I was gone, even in my unconsious state. Suddenly, I felt tight, yet caring claws grab me, and I was suddenly flying away from the portal. I knew, even after all the wrong I had done, I was now saved... Saved by the creature I had wanted to kill for so long.
