If the chronicler was evil then wouldn't he attack Spyro as soon as he goes inside his er... house thingy? And why would he let Spyro go through the short cut to Malefor?

At first I thought Spyro was a blue dragon when I first played the game.
If the chronicler was evil then wouldn't he attack Spyro as soon as he goes inside his er... house thingy? And why would he let Spyro go through the short cut to Malefor? |
