I've had a block where i tried every thing to get rid of it, when all i had to do was read the title of my story... this happened after a week and a half of screaming and throwing things to get an idea... X(

Chapter Fifteen

They traveled with their original partners. Again, Kayda felt like a pancake as they traveled into the mountain. They were dumped out in the middle of the living room, right on top of Skyler and Sierra.

"Kayda, your elbow is puncturing my spleen," Skyler mumbled. She moved her elbow, and Sierra moaned.

"James, your mass of thick black hair is suffocating me," she moaned. James moved his head, and Skyler grunted.

"Who ever owns the foot that's in my face, please REMOVE YOUR TOES FROM MY EAR!" he shouted. Sierra moved her foot, and kneed Kayda in the face.

"OW!" Kayda shouted, "JAMES GET OFF SO I CAN GET UP!"

"Okay!" he shouted defensivly, rolling off the pile of teenagers, recieving many Ow's and Ouch's. He stood up and pulled Kayda and Sierra up.

"What about me?" Skyler asked, "Doesn't manly James have to help me up?" James rolled his eyes and walked off. Skyler mumbled unintelligibly and got up. Kayda went over to the box of cookies, or cookie, actually. Fyre left her one cookie. She took it and rolled her eyes. She walked toward her room, and noticed a brand new plasma screen TV sitting where the old one once had. A note was left on the coffee table.

"I think that I deserve a few cookies for this! Enjoy!" it read. Kayda smiled, silently thanking her dad.

"Hey, Skyler, did you see your new present?" she shouted toward the boys bedrooms.

"What present? I didn't order anything off of eBay!" he shouted back.

"The one that Fyre dropped off," Kayda shouted back.

"Look, I don't know what you're talking abou- OH MY GOD I LOVE YOUR FATHER!" he said, walking in to see the new tv.

"Skyler, what's with all the yelling?" James asked irritably, walking out to see, "Well, that was awful nice of him," he said, seeing the tv.

"FYRE! I LOVE YOU!" Skyler shouted, hugging the tv, "HEY THE MENTALIST MIGHT BE ON!" he shouted, turning it on. He flipped through the channels and found it.

"YES!" he shouted, "Oh, it's a rerun, CRAP!" Kayda started to laugh. James stepped over and turned the tv off.

"As of now," he said to Kayda, "It's you're curfew, off to bed," he finished.

"But, Mo-om, I'm not tired!" Kayda said to James who flared at her, telling her to go to bed. She looked at Skyler, who seemed just as confused.

"You," James said, pointing to Skyler, "You're on first watch, don't leave your post until I tell you too!"

"Yes, sir!" Skyler said in a deep voice, saluting James. James turned around and shouted at Kayda, "BED!" Kayda was taken aback by his force, but she stood her ground.

"Who died and made you king?" she asked in a sarcastic tone.

"I was born first, that makes me leader," James replied, acid licking at each word, "Hence, you have to listen to me,"

"It's a free country, I can go to bed when I want to," Kayda said back, her temper rising.

"YOU WAVED YOU'RE RIGHTS AS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN THE MOMENT YOU GOT IN THAT CAR!" James shouted.

"IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, I WAS SHOVED IN THE CAR!" Kayda shouted back.

"NOT THE POINT! IF YOU WANT TO STAY ALIVE, YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO ME!" James yelled.

"JAMES! YOU WERE NEARLY KILLED TODAY, ALONG WITH THE REST OF US! I THINK WE SHOULD LISTEN TO OUR INSTINCTS!" Kayda yelled. Skyler watched helplessly as the two of them fought.

"WHAT ARE YOU'RE INSTINCTS TELLING YOU TO DO THEN?!" James asked. Kayda walked up and slapped him.

"They were telling me to do that," she whispered, her words like iron daggers. She glared at him and waited for a response. James glared back. Both sets of eyes were on fire. Skyler did a nervous laugh.

"Guys, I think we may have a serious problem on our hands if you two don't separate, so, James, why don't you go do whatever you do and Kayda can stay on guard with me," he offered. They both shouted, "FINE!" and turned away from eachother. Kayda jumped over the back of the couch and sat beside Skyler, while James traveled to where ever he was going to go. He could have gone to China for all Kayda cared.

Yay! I love Skyler.. lol. He got his TV.

Can't wait to read more, but if i want to wake up for swimming tomorrow, i outta sleep now... x thinks x nah!

xD I knows the feeling, I didn't get off till four in the morning this morning and I had to get up at seven to do stuff, my mom literally had to drag me out of bed.

LOL! My sis won't go to sleep at all, she'll sleep at the lake... were going here.



it's like ten times bigger than the pic makes it look, and the lake is huge.

I wanna go! That places looks boss!

Chapter Sixteen

Kayda glared at the wall. Skyler started inching away slowly. He spoke up.

"Kayda, I think your hair is burning the couch," he said. Kayda felt her hair, and sure enough, it was warmer than usual. She tried to calm down, but James had done a thorough job of ticking her off.

"If I threw a bucket of water on you," Skyler started, "Would you make that sizzle noise?" Kayda glared at him through narrowed eyes. He shrank in his skin.

"What did he mean, 'guard'? Why are we guarding things?" Kayda asked, her voice still icey.

"I don't know, he's James, he's confusing," Skyler replied, putting emphasis on the confusing. Kayda didn't smile this time. Skyler stayed silent. They sat on the couch in silence, waiting for the unforseen force that was supposed to attack their base while James was away. They both started to fall asleep. Kayda's head somehow came to rest on Skyler's shoulder, and Skyler's head somehow came to rest on Kayda's head. They were both sound asleep. That's when Comet decided to pay a visit.

"Odd, I could have sworn you two liked the other ones," he said, walking up behind them. Kayda snapped awake and jumped up.Skyler fell over on his side and perked his head up like a startled meerkat.

"AH! KAYDA! JUMP! COMET! NO! JAMES!" he shouted, making absolutly no sense. Kayda glared.

"What do you want," she asked, her eyes on fire.

"I'm here on a truce," Comet said smoothly, "I simply came to ask that the five of you give up, we won't put any harm to you or your families,"

"So you and your father are going to bring the apocalypse while the five of us sit with our families sipping smoothies all day? Not gonna happen," Kayda replied, her voice cold. Comet narrowed his navy blue eyes.

"Can I speak to the only one without a temper?" he asked.

"Kierstyn's still asleep, remember you and your goon scarred her for life," Kayda replied. Comet's jaw tightened.

"And to think I was so nice to you at that party, I would think you'd be nicer," he sneered.

"Nice to me? You tried to kill me!" Kayda shouted.

"On the contrary, my dear, fire cannot kill you, that would be like your father killing you," Comet said, "I knew that you were a child of Fyre, but I had no idea you were so powerful,"

"Flatery will get you no where," Kayda snarled.

"Firey little thing," Comet said, "I wonder if you're this firey with your boyfriends,"

"HEY IF ANYONE GETS TO BE A PERV AROUND HERE, IT'S GOING TO BE ME!" Skyler shouted, mad that someone was trying to steal his job.

"Hush, junior, mommy and daddy are talking," Comet said, holding his hand up. Skyler's glared and tried to talk, but no words came out of his mouth.

"Anyhow, if you joined us, I'd make you my queen," Comet offered, "We'd spend all eternity together,"

"Yeah, sort of how Persephone and Hades spend all eternity together?" Kayda asked.

"Exactly! Wait, NO! Not that sort of relationship!" Comet shouted, "More like, err," he stopped trying to think.

"I'm waiting," Kayda said impatiently. Comet stopped speaking, his eyes full of hatred.

"You win this round, Simpson, but mark my words, you will subcomb to my offer one of these days," he threatened, vanishing with a pop. Skyler seemed to have regained his voice.

"What was that about? I didn't hear anything after the whole junior thing," he said. Kayda was somewhat relieved.

"Nothing, him just being all big and bad," Kayda said, and James appeared.

"Kayda, please, just go to bed," he said in a weary tone. Kayda sighed and went to her room, where Arizona was happily lounging on her bed. He perked his head up and barked happily.

"Good to know you're happy," she said, laying down next to him, falling asleep

oh yeah ... Good chapter. Can't wait to read more.

New Chapter! This one is mostly dialouge, but has a lovely cliff hanger at the end.

Chapter Seventeen

Kayda's dreams were haunted by Comet. She heard his laugh over and over again, she saw his evil grin everywhere, and his offer echoed. She saw him, his stringy black hair falling in his navy eyes, talking to a man who looked very similar, except his hair was shorter and streaked with white.

"Father, the offer has been made," Comet said.

"For once, you didn't fail me," Cosmo said, "I'll be sure to make a note of that, having the powerful daughter of Fyre on our side will assure our victory,"

"Glad to know I made you happy, father," Comet said, "Shall I go to my room?"

"Yes, you need your sleep, my son," Cosmo replied, and Comet disappeared. The image vanished. Kayda woke up. The clock on her nightstand showed that it was eight in the morning. She got up and went to the kitchen to make some waffles. Kierstyn was sitting at the table, her cheek still slightly red.

"You want some waffles?" Kayda asked, and Kierstyn nodded. Kayda continued to make the waffles. Sierra eventually walked in.

"I heard about you and James last night," she said, "What did you guys fight about?"

"The fact that he thinks being oldest makes him superior," Kayda replied, stirring the mix.

"But it does," Kierstyn said, "The oldest is the natural leader,"

"Your point?" Kayda asked, setting the top down on the waffle pan.

"You shouldn't disagree with him, the elders frown upon that," Kierstyn said.

"Let them frown," Kayda said, stacking the waffles on a plate and handing them to Sierra.

"You shouldn't say things like that, Kayda, they're always listening, always watching," Kierstyn said, and Kayda felt a shiver go down her spine.

"That's a disturbing thought," she said, and Sierra laughed.

"You're just as bad as Skyler," she laughed, and Skyler poked his head out of the hallway.

"Do I smell tricked out pancakes?" he asked and Kayda set a plate down infront of Kierstyn and nodded.

"OOH! MAKE ME A PLATE! MAKE ME A PLATE!" Skyler shouted, taking a seat at the table.

"Fine, fine," Kayda said, making more waffles, "Shouldn't you be with your dad?"

"Nope! He gave me the day off, said I should get some sleep," Skyler said happily. Kayda tried not to laugh, thinking about the night before. James walked in, and sat down, not looking at Kayda. She put a plate infront of Skyler, who happily dug in.

"Waffles?" Kayda asked James, who shook his head.

"No," he replied bluntly.

"Fine, be that way," Kayda said, making herself a plate of waffles.

"I will," James said.

"Dude, she's as good a cook as her mom, you don't have any idea what you're missing," Skyler said, stuffing another piece of waffle in his mouth.

"I don't care," James replied. Kayda glared at him.

"How long are you going to stay mad?" she asked.

"Oh, I'm not mad, I just can't look at the two of you any longer," James replied.

"Why?" Skyler asked with a mouthful of waffle. Kierstyn started to get up, but Sierra pulled her back down.

"Don't leave," she hissed, "This is starting to get good,"

"Don't think I didn't see you two," James said.

"What do you mean?" Kayda asked.

"You fell asleep with your head on his shoulder, and he fell asleep with his head on yours," James said.

"Your point?" Kayda asked.

"I mean, you like him, and we can't have that!" James shouted.

"I do?" Kayda asked.

"She does?" Skyler asked.

"DON'T PLAY DUMB WITH ME!" James shouted. Then, Axel and Comet burst into the base.

"So, Kayda, did you think about my offer?" Comet asked.

lol!

"I do?" Kayda asked.

"She does?" Skyler asked.
