You 're right ih8u2, the childish music and bright colors were really annoying in AHT. They should try to make the game evolve as Spyro's fans evolve. When I first played Spyro, I was around eight years old. When I played a AHT, I had grown up a bit, but the game still seemed like it was for eight year olds. I like Spyro, but if Krome studios wants to keep Spyro's old fans, they need to make the game less childish. If not, I still got Ratchet and Clank3, Jak3, the Prince of Persia, and God of War to fall back on. I'm glad the reviews say this new game is darker, but I worry that the music might still sound like something off of Sesame Street.

YESSS! the first true spyro fans that played the trilogy and owned PSX are much older now. they should make the games taylored toward such fans, since kids nowadays are out of the time when spyro was real popular. they probably wouldn't b as interested. its okay if its main audience is children, but i can't stand the pooh bear, undetailed look of the games right now. make it like Jak and Daxter.

Something I find kind of funny is that even though AHT was targeted toward little kids, My 7 year old cousin would rather play Jak and Daxter any day. Because of the bright colors and stupid music, he feels that Spyro AHT is a game for babies. This just shows that there are little kids who would rather play darker, more mature looking games. This would also please the older fans (like me!) who want a more mature Spyro.

I didn't mind the bright colors too much, but the music was annoying. I really miss the music from the first few Spyro games, it had a nice sound and feel to it. I also didn't really like what they did to Spyro's face, but the rest of him looked ok (his walking/running animation was a little annoying, it could have been better).

music was annoying 2 me b/c it was unusually cartoony. stewart copeland wrote calming/relaxing music that really fit the game and levels. it seems to fit spyro's sudden demographic change: spyro was a game rated E for EVERYONE, and they meant it. they didn't just throw the game at kids at first. adults enjoyed the challenging gameplay, and it wasn't a patronizing kiddy game. but now the game is specifically targetting children, and that's messing with its appeal. the bright landscapes of the first three were enough to get kids to play the game alongside adults, but making it look like dr. seuss took a chunk out of spyro's original demographic.

Are you trying to say a E game played by adults ALSO shouldn't be rated E? I didn't mind the music in any of the Spyro games--thought they were the best part, actually.

I meant AHT's music. the other spyros had awesome music. and I am saying that the E rating was most appropriate because it truly meant that the game could be enjoyed for EVERYONE. i don't like it that the companies in charge of games act as if E automatically means its for children and they should try to make it as childish as possible. Its e for everyone, not k for kids, and insomniac took note of that and made it for a broad audience.

I didn't actually mind the slightly cartoony music, infact I quite liked it.That said I do prefer the music from the older Spyro games. Also, I'd like if this new one was darker than the other Spyro games.

Well, the music needs to match the graphics and mood of that particular game. Spyro is a bright, happy, and colorful game, thus has bright, happy, and colorful music. Imagine playing a violent game with music from this game in it. Would it make sense? Besides, I rather enjoyed the music in most of the games in the series. Very catchy.

Whoa, I just read on teamxbox's E3 Spyro preview, that Sparx is no longer Spyro's health meter. Now, he is more of a Clank/ Daxter type sidekick. It's going to be be wierd not having Sparx as a health meter anymore. Also, why did they make the gems not currency? Red now means health, Green increases the breath meter, and purple builds up fury moves. Why not bring back the blue butterflies, and other magical items for these tasks. I'm glad to hear that Sparx has a big role in the game's plot (and that the game actually has a developed plot). I wonder what the interviewer meant when he said Krome hasn't revealed all of Sparx's capabilities yet? What else is Sparx going to do? Oh yeah, and I'm looking forward to see the advanced light and shadow graphics.

Hey Dark52-
Two thoughts, One - you shouldn't have put Insomniac as a developer in the poll because of course it will win, it should have been "Which post-insomniac Spyro developer is your favorite?" Two - This is more of a question, what was "Heart Breath," it was in your poll as a breath - but what the heck is it? ~*Neal*~ |

You can't just assume that everyone prefers Insomniac Games to the rest, whilst it is sure to win some people might prefer one of the others even over Insomniac. But whatever, too late now either way.
And , it was a joke answer. Strangely popular too.

Dark52-
There was a new announcement today from VUG about 'TLOS: ANB' , it confirms again David Spade (as Sparx) Elijah Wood (as Spyro) and Gary Oldman (as the Dragon Elder 'Ignitus' which is much like 'Ignite'). Here is the link: http://forums.vugames.com/thread.jspa?threadID=23308&tstart=0 ~*Neal*~ |

thanx, Neal! ih8u2 is well informed now! i'm a little sad now, though, b/c we won't be hearing much about this game until its about to be released, and i'll be biting my nails in anticipation 4 it.
the real reason i'm posting is to ask if ne1 knows, 4 SURE, if this game will appear in E3? appearently, vu is not going to showcase n e or crash games there. |

What do u mean? vivendi's the publisher, and there's always someone else developing the game. in this case, vivendi has chosen krome. |

WOOHOO! Gamespot finally posted PS2 screenshots for this game. Unfortunately, we've seen all them before......Except for the one with the big castle! Looks like Spyro gets to explore a huge castle in this this game, like he did in Spyro 1 (Lofty Castle, Haunted Towers, etc.). I'm excited!
