Chapter 11,

Dragsooth and Ices were asleep in their hut. the sound of crashing, roaring and fighting was heard from outside. Dragsooth and Ices awoke. Ices stood up.

Dragsooth looked up at her "what is happening?... what's all that noise?"

Ices looked at him with a scared look "Dragsooth go hide at the back of the hut."

Dragsooth nodded and ran to the back of the hut.

Ices: "just stay there and don't move." she walked out the door and saw Vensis standing right in front of her, Ices bares her teeth and spreads out her wings in a threatening manner.

Vensis grows at her "where's your son!?"

Ices: "like i'm telling you!" she growls at her.

Vensis breathes shadow on Ices. she is blinded for a few seconds. Vensis grabs her by the neck with her jaws and throws her on the ground. Vensis goes towards the hut, Ices tackles her to the ground and bites her wing. Vensis roared in pain and struck Ices with her paw, Vensis kicked Ices off, she got up and pinned her to the ground, Vensis bit Ices on the neck. Vensis stopped, she felt a bit of pain on her tail, she looked and saw Dragsooth biting her tail, Vensis smiled evilly and flicked her tail to the side shaking Dragsooth off. she got off of Ices and went towards Dragsooth. Dragsooth backed away.

Vensis: "i've been waiting so long for this." she reached over and tried to grab him.

Dragsooth opened his mouth and breathed a bit of fire on her paw. Vensis screamed in pain. Vensis pinned Dragsooth down with her other paw. Dragsooth struggled to get away but Vensis had the little dragon pinned down easily. Ices got up and hit Vensis in the side with her tail. Ices' tail was coated in ice which made her tail blade sharp. Vensis roared in pain. Ices yanked her tail blade out of Vensis' side and hit her again knocking her away. Vensis laid on the ground for a while, she was injured, Ices' tail blade had hit her lung and she was struggling to breath. Vensis got up weakly and flew away from the village. the other dark dragons retreated also.

Dragsooth: "mommy are you alright?"

Ices looked at him "yes, i'm fine." she had a scar on her face and puncture wounds on her neck "are you alright?"

Dragsooth: "yes mommy."

Ices: "come on let's go to the medical tent..." she walked towards the tent limping a bit. Dragsooth followed her.

Chapter 12,

Ices and Dragsooth went into the medical tent. the tent was large and there were many dragons there getting healed by red gems. Ices walked over to a red crystal and broke it with her tail, she picked up the red gems and put them near her body, the gems went into her body and healed her wounds. she picked up a red gem and looked at Dragsooth.

Ices: "come here."

Dragsooth walked over to her.

Ices: "take this red gem and put it near you. it will heal your wounds."

Dragsooth: "but i'm not hurt."

Ices: "this is just in case."

she put the red gem near him and the gem went into his body.

Ices: "now let's go back to our hut and get some sleep."

they both went out of the tent. Dragsooth looked up at his mother.

Dragsooth: "why did that dragoness try to hurt us mommy?"

Ices: "she wants to... kill you."

Dragsooth: "... why?"

Ices: "it's because of her god Mondrenic..."

Dragsooth: "who's he?"

Ices: "he is the brother of our gods... he had a part in creating the world... he created night, poisonous insects and he also created dragons that possess his dark elements."

Dragsooth: "why does he want that dragoness to kill me?"

Ices: "because after Mondrenic turned evil and our gods banished him he wanted revenge. our gods have blessed you with the ability to use all four of their elements. and there is a prophecy written about you. it's said to have been written by the gods themselves."

Dragsooth: "what does this prophecy say?"

Ices: "it says that you will stop this war that's been going on for hundreds of years."

Dragsooth: "me? how can i do that?"

Ices: "you have been blessed with the four elements of the gods. you're special. you need to learn all of the elements before you can do anything to help stop this war. you've already learned how to breath fire... the same element that your father possessed..."

Dragsooth: "mommy where did daddy go when he died?"

Ices: "i'm sure he's with the gods now..."

they got to their hut and went inside. they laid down next to each other.

Ices: "we can talk more in the morning. go to sleep now. it's late..."

Dragsooth: "goodnight mommy."

Ices: "goodnight son."

they both went to sleep.

Chapter 13,

Vensis lands inside her village. she is weak from the fight. she limps towards a medical tent, but she collapses. a few other dragons who were near by tried to help her up.

Vensis: "don't touch me!" she roars viciously.

the dragons quickly back away. Vensis gets up and limps into the tent.

Vensis: "MEDIC!"

a black dragoness comes up to her.

dragoness: "oh Mistress what happen to you?"

Vensis: "i was injured in battle! get me some red gems!"

dragoness: "right away Mistress."

she walked away and came back to Vensis with some red gems in her paw, she extended her paw with the gems towards Vensis.

Vensis took the gems and put them against her body. the gems went into her and healed her. she walked out of the medical tent and up the large hill with the altar and the statue of Mondrenic on top of the hill. she got to the top of the hill and walked up to the statue of Mondrenic with her head held low. she bowed down in front of the statue and began to speak in draconic.

Vensis: "kwi Mondrenic sia ithquent onelka ve ihk failing wux. si mi bivai, si tir ti vucot svanoa si shilta qe coanwor zyak easily gjahalla ini batobot sililos nuwa. si geou kem tonnilt, si geou double thric triple wer kemir di sia shaltic, yth geou ti fail wux anymore sia ithquent. persvek wer sulta wux nishka tepoha wer hatibahu vivex."

she got up and flew towards her fortress, she walked inside and went to the back of the fortress and fell asleep there.

i'm sorry it took so long, i had to come up with a good chapter.

Chapter 14,

five years later,

Dragsooth grew into a strong, energetic, well-behaved, 10 year old dragon, over the years he learned all four of his elements. he was still learning how to harness his powers and he prayed to the gods for assistance. the elders were training Dragsooth on how to use his elements in different ways. the elders taught Dragsooth how to fight without using his elements as well just in case he ever encountered a time where he could not use his elements to defend himself. although Dragsooth never thought of a time where he couldn't use his elements as a line of defense, but he didn't question the elders about it.
whenever Dragsooth was finished with his daily training he'd go and play with the other young dragons and dragonessess in the village. he loved to play with his friends, although he didn't really have any close friends, sure he'd play games with them but he never developed a close bond with anyone. but he wasn't at all lonely he had plenty of playmates.


Ember also grew to become a strong, energetic, well-behaved, 10 year old dragoness. she had only one element fire. but her fire was slightly pink in color. no other dragon in her village knew fire, Vensis tried to train Ember as well as she could and Vensis did indeed train her well. Ember never really questioned why she was different from other young dragons in the village. when she asked Vensis why she was different from the other dragons Vensis just told her that that's the way Mondrenic wanted to create her. Ember just accepted that answer. everyday Vensis would put Ember through hard training, she needed to give Ember as much fighting experience as possible. Ember sometimes questioned why she had to train so hard but Vensis would just tell her that she had to be prepared to go on a special mission soon. Ember didn't have time to play with the other young dragons and dragonessess in the village because she would have to train all day and at the end of the training she was usually too tiered. she'd sometimes pray to Mondrenic to give her time for fun and games that the other dragons in the village got to enjoy, sometimes her prayers would get answered and sometimes they weren't. Ember didn't mind some training but she didn't want to train all day, she wanted some time to play with the other young dragons. Ember didn't have many friends and she barely had time to play with the friends she had. Vensis would tell Ember that she didn't need friends because doing Mondrenic's will was more important. Ember wasn't sure what Mondrenic wanted from her, but Vensis told her that it would be revealed to her soon enough...

Chapter 15,

Dragsooth was training with elder Malak watching him. the training area was outside right behind the temple, the whole training area was just a large circular stone floor and various training dummies would appear. Dragsooth burned some of the dummies.

elder Malak: "good Dragsooth. keep it up."

four large dummies appeared around Dragsooth and they jumped at him pinning him to the ground, Dragsooth did a comet dash straight into the air and singed the dummies. he shot several fireballs at them, the fireballs hit them all and exploded, the dummies were all burned to death and they disappeared. Dragsooth lands.

Dragsooth: "how was that elder Malak?"

elder Malak: "that was very good. i'm very impressed."

suddenly an earth dragoness runs up to elder Malak, she looks quite scared and has a panicked look on her face.

dragoness: "elder Malak my daughter's gone missing!"

elder Malak: "when was the last time you saw her?"

dragoness: "about an hour ago. she went over to the lake to get a drink. i haven't seen her since... i've searched everywhere!"

elder Malak: "calm down ma'am i'll send out a search party to look for her."

a few minutes later a small group of dragon warriors were sent out to search for the missing young dragoness.


in the dark dragon village, right beside Vensis' fortress was a stone building, inside the building were many rows of cells, this building was the dungeon. a small earth dragoness about 9 years of age lay scared and weeping inside one of the cold, damp, dark cells. Vensis and a fear dragon came up to her cell. the young dragoness backed up against the wall of the cell trembling in fear. Vensis grinned at her.

Vensis: "oh no need to be afraid little one... you'll soon be a lovely sacrafise to the great Mondrenic, and maybe once you're with him he'll decide to spare you from his wrath."

dragoness: "... you're wrong... the gods would take me with them because i'm a good dragon unlike you!"

Vensis looked at the fear dragon "paralysis her!"

the dragon opened the cell, he came towards the young dragoness and shot fear at her. she fell to the ground.

Vensis: "take her to the altar and chain her to it."

the dragon picks up the little dragoness and takes her out of the dungeon.

Chapter 16,

Ember was training in the fortress' training room. Vensis came in.

Vensis: "Ember."

Ember came over to Vensis "yes Mistress?"

Vensis: "come with me to the altar. we've got a sacrifice for Mondrenic."

Ember: "who is the sacrifice?"

Vensis: "we've captured a young earth dragoness from the enemy village."

Ember: "Mistress may i ask you a question?"

Vensis: "no! i don't have time to answer it now. we have to go to the altar."

Vensis and Ember went out of the fortress and up the large hill. all the dragons in the village were there and chained to the stone altar was the little earth dragoness. Vensis went up to the altar, a dark dragon walked up to Vensis, he set down a long dark small box beside Vensis, she opened it and pulled out a sharp knife stained with blood. the other dragons stood around the altar. Vensis looked up at the statue of Mondrenic.

Vensis: "kwi Mondrenic rinov li nomenes cursed isthasyi di dout chiana wux zyak harshy wux tepoha coanwor seeking narhethi. jaka si offer wux vi vrak di Thraklor, nomag jaciv qe acceptable ekess wux, tir mrith jacioniv seoyl alevia."

Vensis turned towards the altar and looked at the frightened little dragoness that was chained on top of it. Vensis raised the knife and plunged it into the dragonessess heart. the young dragoness died instantly. Vensis took the knife out of her and looked up, she sat up on her haunches and spread out her wings.

Vensis: "nomag Mondrenic qe tiichia!"

the other dragons sat up on their haunches and spread out their wings and roared in victory. then the dragons began to descend down the hill. Vensis put the bloody knife back into the box and closed the box. the same dragon that brought the box to her came and took it away walking down the hill carrying it in his jaws. Ember came up to the altar and looked at the dead dragoness, she felt kind of sad because the dragoness was so young but she knew it was Mondrenic's will for the dragoness to be a sacrifice. then something caught Ember's eye. a golden necklace with a heart shaped locket around the dragonessess neck. the locket had a red gem in it. Ember looked at Vensis.

Ember: "Mistress may i have that necklace?" she pointed towards the necklace on the dragonessess neck.

Vensis: "yes. it might be useful since it has a red gem in it. take it."

Ember took the necklace and put it on. she liked it. she went back down the hill.

Chapter 17,

it was getting late, Ember was in the training room, she looked out the window and saw it was dark outside, she left the training room and went to the back of the fortress, Vensis was there.

Ember: "Mistress?"

Vensis looked at her "what is it?"

Ember: "i still have a question."

Vensis: "well spit it out child."

Ember: "why are we at war with that other tribe of dragons?"

Vensis: "they are our enemy. it has been like this for hundreds of years."

Ember: "why?"

Vensis: "because our god blessed us with his dark elements and it's only right for us to repay him by destroying his enemies."

Ember: "why are those other dragons his enemies?"

Vensis: "his brothers the four gods of our enemies wanted all the power for themselves so they banished Mondrenic, now he seeks revenge and he wants us to destroy the dragons that his brothers created... in that village there is a special dragon that is thought to be blessed by the gods. he has all four elements, and it is our duty to destroy this blessed dragon. we've been trying to kill him ever since he was an egg."

Ember: "why does this dragon have to die?"

Vensis: "he is powerful. he could destroy us. we have to defend ourselves."

Ember: "why can't we just move?"

Vensis: "running!?... running is a cowards way out!... Mondrenic told us to fight not to run."

Ember: "i understand, we must obey Mondrenic."

Vensis: "exactly. and don't worry you'll soon be able to really serve Mondrenic soon enough."

Ember: "i know Mistress... i am eager for that day to come."

Vensis: "yes and that day is quickly approaching... now go to sleep you've got a very busy day tomorrow."

Ember walks away and she goes into her room...

hey sorry it took so long for the next chapter but i didn't feel like writing.

Chapter 18,

the next day Ember woke up, she went into the training room and saw Vensis standing in the middle of the room.

Ember: "Mistress what are you doing here so early usually you don't come in here until later."

Vensis: "Ember, your training is almost complete. you're almost ready to take on the task that Mondrenic has prepared for you."

Ember: "i am?" she sounded exited "what's my task?"

Vensis: "relax child!... i'm not going to tell you until you've completed one last training exercise."

Ember: "what do i have to do for my last training exercise?"

Vensis spread out her wings and crouched down slightly "fight me and defeat me."

Ember backed away a step "oh no Mistress... i can't hurt you."

Vensis: "it's part of your training... fight me!" she swung her tail at Ember.

Ember dodged and moved away even more.

Vensis: "and don't be afraid to use your elements!"

Ember charged at Vensis and hit her with a comet dash, Vensis stumbled a bit and breathed a beam of darkness at Ember. Ember barely dodged it. she landed on her feet and spun around and looked at Vensis.

Vensis: "is that the best you've got!?... come on give it all you've got!" she lunged at Ember with her jaws wide open.

Ember dodged her and breathed fire all over Vensis' back. Vensis fell to the ground and yelled in pain. Ember looked at her.

Ember: "are you alright Mistress!?... i'm sorry i hurt you."

Vensis looked at her "no... that was good... you could easily kill someone by burning them like that... you have done well." she slowly got up. "as soon as i get healed i'll come and tell you what your task is... you wait here until i return..." she limped out of the training room.

Ember waited for a few minutes and Vensis returned completely healed.

Vensis: "now your task is to go into the enemy village and pretend that your parents just died but you and your family are nomads so you don't live there. convince the elders to let you stay there in the village and befriend the purple dragon... get him to come with you towards our village and when you're alone with him me and some warriors will do the rest."

Ember: "alright Mistress as you wish and Mondrenic's will be done."

Vensis nods "yes... i'll monitor you and i'll keep in touch with you... and no need to worry about anything, you look so innocent they won't suspect a thing. now come." Vensis walks out of the training room.

Ember follows her outside, they both take to the skies. they fly above the clouds for a little while and land on a small hill. they see their enemy's village in the distance.

Vensis: "now go."

Ember slowly walks towards the village.

Chapter 19,

Ember cautiously walked towards the entrance to the village, she was scared that she had to go into enemy territory but she knew that she must. she went into the village and walked by some huts. she saw a group of young dragons playing, she approached them cautiously.

Ember: "uh... excuse me?"

a dragon looked at her "oh hi there. do you want to join in?"

Ember: "... no thank you... uh i'm looking for the elders."

dragon: "they're probably behind the temple in the training area... if they're not there they're probably be in the temple."

Ember: "alright thank you..." she turned around to leave.

dragon: "hey wait."

Ember turned around "yes?"

dragon: "where did you get that necklace?"

Ember: "my mother gave it to me."

dragon: "oh ok.... well see you later."

Ember walked away and went towards a temple. she walked around the building and went behind it. she saw the four dragon elders standing together near a large stone floor. Ember approached them.

Ember: "... excuse me sirs?"

the four dragons turned around and looked at Ember.

elder Malak: "yes?"

Ember: "...i just arrived at your village..."

elder Malak: "where did you come from?"

Ember: "my parents were nomads so we never stayed in one place..."

elder Hargen: "where are your parents?"

Ember looked down and tried to put on the impression that she was really upset.

Ember: "... they got killed..."

all four elders gasped in shock.

elder Hydrax: "by who?"

Ember: "... i... i don't know... it was by these big dark dragons... i barely escaped..." she pretended to sob.

elder Penagar: "it's alright young one... we'll take good care of you here."

Ember: "thank you... i need a place to live."

the elders looked at each other.

elder Malak: "we can't let her live on her own."

elder Penagar: "maybe we can get a family to adopt her."

elder Hargen: "what about that earth dragon couple who recently lost their child?"

elder Hydrax: "Hargen be reasonable. that family has just lost their only daughter. they're still grieving over their loss."

elder Malak: "we'll have to go search around the village and ask around to see who'd be willing to take her in. until then she'd have to live with us." he turned towards Ember "what is your name?"

Ember: "it's Ember."

elder Malak: "well Ember you may live with us in the temple until we can find you a family to live with."

Ember: "thank you. you're very kind."

elder Malak: "are you hungry?"

Ember: "yes sir. i haven't eaten anything today."

elder Malak: "let's get you some food. follow me." he walked away towards the temple.

Ember followed him, she couldn't believe how easy she tricked them.

Chapter 20,

Ember followed the elder into the temple. they went to the back of the temple. elder Malak looked at Ember who was standing right beside him.

elder Malak: "wait here, i'll be right back with some food." he walked away.

Ember sat down and she looked around the temple, she saw four life sized dragon statues which she assumed to be Mondrenic's brothers that Vensis told her about. she gave the statues an unpleasant look and turned around, she sat down on the ground with her back facing the statues. she then heard footsteps. she looked ahead to see a purple dragon about her age approach her, it was Dragsooth. Dragsooth stopped when he caught sight of her.

Dragsooth: "oh hello there. what are you doing here alone?"

Ember looked away slightly "...i uh... i'm waiting for the fire elder to come back with food."

Dragsooth: "oh well can't your parents get you food?"

Ember shook her head, she tried to make herself look upset.

Dragsooth walked a bit closer to her, he saw that she was upset "oh what's wrong?"

Ember: "my parents are dead..." she fake sobbed a few times.

Dragsooth: "oh... i'm so sorry to hear that... where did you come from?"

Ember: "my family were nomads... we never stayed in one place."

Dragsooth: "maybe you can live here in the village."

Ember: "i already talked to the elders, they said i can live with them until they can find a family to take me in."

suddenly elder Malak came up to them with a fish in his jaws. he put the fish down in front of Ember.

elder Malak: "here's a fish, do you want me too cook it for you?"

Ember looked up at him "no i'll cook it. thank you sir." she breathed fire on the fish and cooked it. she began to eat the fish.

Dragsooth looked up at elder Malak "i heard what happen to this dragoness... will it be alright if she can stay at my hut?"

elder Malak looked down at Dragsooth "well yes if it's alright with your mother."

Ember looked at Dragsooth "i would be honored to live with you..."

Dragsooth looks at her "hey what's your name?"

Ember: "Ember... and yours?"

Dragsooth: "i'm Dragsooth."

Ember: "that's a nice name... what are your elements?"

Dragsooth: "fire, electricity, ice and earth... do you have any others besides fire?"

Ember: "not that i know of."

Dragsooth: "alright, well as soon as you finish eating i can take you to my hut."

Ember: "alright, that sounds good." she finished eating her fish. she stood up "alright, i'm ready to go."

Dragsooth: "ok let's go." he started to walk away.

Ember followed him. they walked to Dragsooth's hut.

Dragsooth: "well here it is."

Ember looked at it "it's nice."

Dragsooth: "thank you..."

suddenly Ices came out of the hut "hello Dragsooth, whose your friend?" she looked at Ember.

Dragsooth: "this is Ember... she lost her parents and she's new to the village... will it be alright if she lives with us?"

Ices: "why of course she can stay... what's you name?"

Ember: "it's Ember ma'am."

Ices: "you may call me Ices... and when did you get here?"

Ember: "i got here an hour ago."

Ices: "where did you come from?"

Ember: "my parents were nomads, so we always traveled."

Ices: "oh... what happen to them?"

Ember lowers her head "they're dead..." she fake sobbed again.

Ices crouched down and wrapped a wing around Ember "oh you poor dear... loosing your parents at such a young age."

Ember: "yes... it's really hard... they're the only family i had..."

Ices: "well don't worry, we'll take good care of you here." she takes her wing off Ember and stands up.

Dragsooth: "yeah we sure will and don't worry your parents are with the gods now."

Ember looked at him "uh... yeah sure..."

Ices: "well let's go inside." she went inside the hut.

Dragsooth and Ember walked into the hut.

Chapter 21,

Ember looked around the hut "you have a very lovely hut."

Dragsooth: "thank you. i lived in it my whole life."

Ember: "it's much nicer then the different caves i used to have to live in with my parents."

Ices: "tell me why did you and your parents have to travel?"

Ember: "well for food. we went where the herds of animals went."

Dragsooth: "this village has been here for many generations. we eat mostly fish that comes from a big lake outside the village. but we sometimes come across a stray deer of some sort that we can hunt."

Ember: "oh well you're lucky that you don't have to follow a bunch of cattle around."

Dragsooth: "yeah, but since you're living with us now you don't have to work for your food, unless you want to."

Ices: "Dragsooth aren't you late for your training with the elders?"

Dragsooth: "oh yes i think i am..." he walked towards the exit of the hut.

Ember: "may i come too?"

Dragsooth turned his head to look at her "uh sure you may come with me." he walked out of the hut.

Ember followed him. they walked through the village side by side. they walk towards the temple. an adult earth dragoness who was standing by her hut noticed the necklace on Ember as the two dragons walked by her.

dragoness: "excuse me little pink dragoness?"

Dragsooth and Ember stopped. Ember turned around and looked at her "yes?"

the dragoness came up to her "where did you get that necklace?"

Ember: "my mother gave it to me."

dragoness: "may i take a look at it?"

Ember took off the necklace and gave it to the dragoness. the dragoness turned the necklace over and she gasped in shock.

Ember: "what is it?"

the dragoness looked at her "what's your name?"

Ember: "Ember."

the dragoness looked at her with anger "why do you have this necklace?"

Ember: "i told you my mother gave it to me."

dragoness: "did your mother also kill my precious daughter for it!?"

Ember: "... no... what are you talking about?"

the dragoness turned the back of the necklace towards Ember and the necklace had the name 'Jade' written on it.

dragoness: "Jade was my daughter's name! you lying little thief you stole it from her!" she roared at Ember with her jaws wide open.

Dragsooth stepped in between her and Ember.

dragoness: "get out of the way Dragsooth, i'm going to teach that thief a lesson!"

Ember cowered behind Dragsooth.

Dragsooth: "let's go to the elders i'm sure they'll help us resolve this."

dragoness: "very well. the elders are the wisest."

Dragsooth looked at Ember "are you alright?"

Ember stood up "yes i am... why is she so angry with me? i didn't know that necklace was her daughter's."
