Flare had been walking through the forrest in the direction that the dreadwing flew, hoping to eventually get to the place where Artica was. she had walked most of the night, because she didn't get much sleep. although, she wasn't all that tired. she continued to walk, wondering where the dreadwing had taken her sister. she then thought she heard footsteps. she looked around, curiosuly, but didn't see anything. she then decided to keep going. then she heard footsteps again. she stopped, and looked around. then something bumped her from behind. she turned around to see a young dragon looking at her. it was a male dragon, with fiery red scales, and ruby colored eyes. he had two orange horns, and he had orange spikes from head to tail. his inside wings, and belly were orange. his tail-end was sort of shaped like a flame, and was a red-orange color.
"sorry about that" he said. "i didn't hurt you, did i?" he asked, concerned.
"no, but why would you care if you did?" Flare asked, curiously.
"well, it would be my fault for one thing. plus, i wouldn't want to make a cute dragon like you mad at me" he smiled.
"cute?" Flare asked. she didn't even know this dragon, and he was calling her cute.
"oh, uh, sorry. where are my manners?" he chuckled. "my name is Inferno" he said, smiling. "so, is your name as pretty as your eyes?" he asked. Flare looked away. she couldn't believe it. she then looked back at him.
"Flare. my name is Flare"
"ah, i was right. your name is as pretty as your eyes" he smiled.
"why are you being so nice to me? we barely know each other"
"that is true, we only just met, but i don't have to know you to think you're cute, do i?"
"hm, maybe not. look, i can't stand here all day talking to you"
"why not?"
"there's something i have to do"
"like what? i don't think it's dinner time yet"
"not that. i'm not heading home"
"then where are you going?"
"far away"
"you didn't exactly answer my question"
"well, i don't really know where i'm going, but i do need to go" she said. then she started to walk away.
"wait!" he called, walking up to her. "at least let me go with you"
"now, why would i let a complete stranger come with me?"
"well, one, you could use come company, and two, we could really get to know each other on our way there. besides, it's not like we're complete strangers, we know each others' names, and we both know i think you're cute" he smiled. "so, what do you say?" he asked. Flare sighed.
"you really are a charmer, arn't you?"
"is that a yes?"
"alright, fine. you can come. but you'll have to help me get to where i'm going. you can't just come along because you think i'm cute"
"ok. i can live with that" he smiled. then they began walking through the forrest.

well, you never know how he'll act around other girls. you'll just have to wait and see.

F: but it doesn't mean i'll eat him!
yeah, but theres no garrentee you won't either.

Are they still hatchlings?

Flare and Artica are still hatchlings at the moment, and so is Inferno.

Luckily...i am very salty

F: ooh. like a french fry?
me: uh oh. no, he means he is so salty he tastes bad, and he'll make you very thirsty. you probally shouldn't eat him.
F: oh. ugh. i don't like things that salty. *flies away*

"we have located the young dragon" a deep male voice spoke. he was a large, muscular black dragon, who stood in a large, dark room. he faced the far wall, where all you could see were two lime green eyes that shone in the dark.
"good. bring her to me" a calm female voice replied.
"as you wish, my queen" the male said, bowing down to her. he then disappeared in the darkness.
:meanwhile:
"so, where are we going exactly?" Inferno asked Flare as they walked through the forrest.
"i told you already, i don't know"
"then how am i suppose to help you?"
"i don't know that either. look, all i know is that i have to save my sister"
"your sister?"
"yes. she was dragon-napped by this......thing..."
"a thing? what did it look like?" he asked.
"well, it looked something....like that!" she pointed to a large dreadwing that had just landed in front of them. many others landed behind it. then a large, muscular black dragon landed behind the dreadwings. he grinned evily.
"get them!" the dragon roared. the dreadwings screeched, and then surrounded the young dragons. they attacked with sharp claws, and fangs. Inferno growled and fought back, clawing and biting at them, and breathing fire. Flare soon did the same, but then one dreadwing grabbed her, and began to fly away with her. she screamed in fear.
"Flare!" Inferno yelled. he then breathed fire on all the dreadwings around him as he ran past them. he ran after the dreadwing that was flying away with Flare.
"stop him!" the dragon roared. then the dreadwings flew after Inferno. they swooped down, and attacked with sharp claws. Inferno shot fire balls at them as he continued to run. then one dreadwing swooped down, and grabbed him. then the black dragon flew after the dreadwing that carried Flare with the other dreadwings following him. Inferno struggled to break free of the dreadwing's grasp, but failed. he looked around to find Flare, but he didn't see her. all he saw were hundreds of dreadwings. he then saw the black dragon flying up front, leading the dreadwings somewhere. flying beside the dragon was the dreadwing who carried Flare.
"Flare!" he yelled. he then shot a fire ball at the dreadwing who grabbed her. the dreadwing dodged the attack, and screeched in anger. the dragon looked back, and growled. he then flew towards the dreadwing who held Inferno. the dreadwing stopped for a moment while the others continued flying. the dragon glared at Inferno. then the dragon opened his mouth, and breathed a silvery mist on Inferno. Inferno yawned as he breathed the mist. he soon felt tired, and began to close his eyes. the black dragon smiled, and then flew away with the dreadwing following him.

Inferno awoke in a cell much like the one Artica was in. he looked out the small window in the iron door, but he couldn't see anything.
"hello? is there anyone here?" he called.
"yes" replied a female voice. "who are you? where are you?" she asked. the voice sounded as if it came from the other side of the wall. Inferno walked over to the wall.
"my name is Inferno. i'm trapped in a cell" he replied.
"i'm trapped too. my name is Artica" she said.
"well, it's nice to meet you, Artica. you have a lovely name" he said.
"thank you, Inferno" she replied. she then heard footsteps coming down the hall. "Inferno, be quiet, and step away from the wall. if they catch us talking to each other, we'll both pay the price. just stay calm" she whispered. Inferno nodded his head, and stepped away from the wall. a large black dragon walked up to Inferno's cell. he looked through the window at the young fire dragon. Inferno looked at the dragon. he didn't seem to be the same one who put him to sleep. the dragon opened the cell door, and walked inside. he put chains on Inferno's feet, tail, and wings. he then put a chain around his neck which led to an iron handle that the dragon held. the dragon tugged on the chain as he walked out of the cell. Inferno followed him out. he then looked to the cell next to his, but he couldn't see the dragoness inside. as they walked by the cell, Inferno whispered,
"don't worry. i'll find a way to get us out of here" he said. then he followed the dragon down the long, dark hallway. Artica didn't get a chance to ask how he planned on getting them out. she figured he was being taken to the black dragoness to be asked questions. she wished she could have warned him about her. the black dragon led Inferno to a large, dark room. he took him to the center of the room, and chained him to an iron bar. he then walked away, disappearing in the shadows. Inferno looked around, and soon saw two lime green eyes shining in the darkness. "who are you?" he asked.
"silence, child. it is i who will ask the questions" the dragoness said, calmly. she then stepped out of the shadows, and looked at Inferno. "what is your name?" she asked.
"i'm not telling you anything" he snarled. the dragoness seemed surprised.
"then you are of no use to me"
"so what? you're just gonna kill me?" he asked. she chuckled.
"no, child. i am not one to kill without good reason"
"i see. torture me then?"
"why? what would i gain from torturing you? you already said you were not going to tell me anything. so that would only be a waste of time"
"well, sorry to burst your bubble, but i don't plan on staying here" he said. then he tried to break the chains, but couldn't. he then breathed fire on the chains, but they only turned red from the heat. the dragoness chuckled.
"you see, young dragon, you can not break free. however, tell me what i want to know, and i may just let you go free. what do you say?"
"i won't do it. not unless you free Artica, and tell me what happened to Flare" he snarled. the dragoness smiled.
"i am afraid i can not let them go"
"you can. you just won't. why are you smiling?"
"because you have given me information when you said you would not"
"what? i never told you anything"
"wrong. when you mentioned Artica and Flare, you told me you know them"
"so? you don't know anything else"
"that may be so, but i can obtain the information, knowing where to get it"
"you can't make me talk"
"i do not have to" she said. then she looked passed him into the darkness. "Gloomstealth" she said. then the black dragon walked up to her.
"you call me, my queen?" he asked.
"take him into the other room. oh, and be sure he is well rested" she said.
"yes, my queen" he said. then he walked over to Inferno, and grabbed the chain. he then led him into the darkness passed the dragoness. Gloomstealth walked up to a small door. he then opened it, and walked inside to a small room. he walked to the center of the room, and chained Inferno to an iron bar. he then breathed some silvery mist into his face, making him tired. then as Inferno layed down to sleep, the dragon left the room. he walked over to the dragoness, waiting for orders.
"thank you, Gloomstealth. now, go to the dungeon, and gaurd the prisoners. i do not want them getting any ideas" she said.
"yes, my queen" he said. then he walked off into the darkness.

Artica was sitting in her cell when she heard footsteps outside. she looked out the window, but couldn't see anything. she wondered if the dragon had returned with Inferno. she then walked over to the wall, where she stood once before while she was talking to him.
"hello? Inferno? are you there?" she whispered. there was no answer. she then stepped away from the wall. "is there anyone here? anyone at all?" she called. then she heard footsteps outside her cell. they sounded close. she looked out the window, and saw Gloomstealth looking down at her. "where's Inferno?" she asked him. he didn't respond. "why won't you answer me?" she asked. he still didn't respond. "are there any others here?" she asked. he nodded. "how many?" she asked. no response. "is Inferno in his cell?" she asked. he shoke his head. "is there someone in the cell next to mine?" she asked. he nodded. "is it a dragon?" he shoke his head. "ok, so it's not a dragon. why won't you talk?" she asked. no response. "are you not allowed to talk?" he nodded. "can you let me out of here?" she asked. he hesitated. "can you?" she asked again. he nodded. "will you?" she asked. he hesitated again. "will you let me out?" she asked. then he moved away from the window, and she could no longer see him. then the cell door opened. the dragon stood there, looking at her. he then raised his paw, and issued her to come out. Artica walked over to him, and then h closed the cell door. "i don't know why you're helping me, but i don't care enough to ask. can you take me to Inferno?" she asked. he shoke his head. "do you know where he is?" she asked. he nodded. "and you're not allowed to take me to him?" she asked. he shoke his head. "i see. can you show me who is in the cell next to mine?" she asked. he then picked her up, and put her up to the window of the cell. she looked inside, and saw a large, deep green snake laying on the floor. it wasn't moving. "let me in there" she said. the dragon put her down, and then opened the cell door. Artica walked inside, and walked over to the snake. Gloomstealth closed the door behind her, locking her inside. Artica didn't notice because she was focused on the snake. she walked around to the front of it, looking at it's head. then suddenly, it jumped up, and striked at her neck, biting her with it's sharp, venomous fangs. she roared in pain as it injected vemon into her bloodstream. it then let go, and she fell to the ground, motionless. she had two little holes in her neck that dripped with blood. the snake looked to the window to see Gloomstealth looking inside. he looked at the snake's yellow eyes for a moment before opening the cell door. the snake slithered out, and then Gloomstealth closed the cell door, locking it tight. the snake looked at him before slithering away.

I enjoy reading it

the black dragoness walked into the small room where Inferno was sleeping. she walked over to a large case full of potions. she grabbed a dark purple potion, and then drank it. then she collapsed to the ground, motionless.
:meanwhile:
Inferno was dreaming. he was in a dark world, with blue mist all around. he stood on a platform, and looked ahead to a path of small platforms leading to a much larger platform with a deep green portal.
"Inferno......." a female voice whispered.
"huh? who's there?" Inferno asked, looking around. he saw no one. he then decided to head towards the portal. he jumped from platform to platform, and then soon landed on the large platform. he looked at the portal in awe.
"Inferno......." the voice whispered again. Inferno looked around, and still saw no one.
"who are you? what do you want from me?" he asked.
"the portal........." the voice whispered.
"you want me to go through the portal?" he asked.
"the portal............" the voice repeated.
"ok. i'll take that as a yes" he said. then he jumped through the portal, not knowing where it would lead him. then the female revealed herself. it was the black dragoness. she looked at the portal, and chuckled.
"farewell, Inferno" she smiled evily.

the black dragon, Gloomstealth, walked into a large, dark room. there were torches all around, but it was still dark. there were five, all but one sat in the four corners of the room. each stood proud, and in a protective stance. they showed thier teeth, yet they seemed to be gaurd dragons. in the middle of the room, with the final statue sitting behind it, was a small cage. Gloomstealth walked towards the cage. then there was a silent growl somewhere in the room. he stopped, and looked around, but he only saw the statues. he then walked up to the cage, and looked at it. inside, was a young red dragoness. she was unconcious. as he looked at the cage, the statye sitting behind began to move. first, it's tail and feet turned to a light silvery grey, and appeared to be real. then the body did the same. last, the neck and head turned to a light silvery grey, and also appeared to look real. then the head move, and looked at Gloomstealth with dark eyes.
"what purpose do you have here?" the statue snarled. Gloomstealth jumped, surprised that someone was here. he looked up at the statue. the statue's scales with a light silvery grey color. it's underbelly, and inside wings were white. it had grey spikes from head to tail. it had two grey horns, and it's tail-end was grey, and shaped like canon ball.
"my queen sent me to get the child. i, uh, i didn't hear you come in" he said. the statue chuckled.
"i was here before you ever set foot in this room" he grinned.
"i see. well, then you must have been gaurding the child"
"of course. we are sentinels. it is our duty to gaurd, protect, and watch whatever it is we are told to gaurd" he said.
"we?" Gloomstealth asked. the statue laughed. then the other four statues came to life as he did, and looked like him. Gloomstealth looked around, shocked and amazed.
"we are the sentinel dragons. the best guards known to dragon-kind. we were told by the queen herself to gaurd this child, and that we shall. take her if you must, as long as the queen asks of it, but know it is our job to gaurd this young dragon, and we must go with you" he spoke. the other statues walked towards Gloomstealth and the cage.
"i see. well, i appreciate you're help to gaurd the child, but i must go now. the queen said to hurry back, and you should know as well as i that she hates to be kept waiting, despite her patience"
"of course. we are ready when you are" the statue said. Gloomstealth picked up the cage, and began to walk out of the room. the sentinel dragons followed him.

i just think them up in my head. sometimes, i just make stuff up as i go along.
