The only real physical difference between a wyvern and a dragon is that the wyvern lacks front legs.

Wyverns are still dragons. The developers could have made a mistake there, or maybe Sparx meant that those weren't true dragons.

PD09, the SPYRO wyverns aren't dragons, but traditional European wyverns are. Just letting you know.

Anyways, my favorite enemies were the shadow apes smilie

Wyverns actually are Dragons. It's in my Dragonology Book:

Wyvern
Draco Africanus

Nothing quite compares to the sight of a lone Wyvern soaring above the great plains of the Serengeti, for these creatures are prone to extraordinary aeronautical displays. A closer encounter is also likely to be rewarding since Wyverns are usually inclined to be friendly to humans. However, their large feet make movement on the ground a clumsy affair, thus they prefer to remain airborne much of the time.

My description:

Wyverns are the biggest of all Dragons with a height to 18 to 20 feet high. Their spines are much smaller than other Dragons'. There are usually greenish-brown with paler under parts. Some Elders develop lime green spotting. They have 2 legs with 3 long toes. They have 2 wings that can reach a wing span to almost 100 feet! The eat the larger African mammals, but leave the giraffes alone [too bony?]. They call with a crow-like cawing in flight & a low growl when attacking. A hunting Wyvern drops from a great height & uses its weight to crush it's prey. They also use their teeth & claws in a battle. Don't forget what Dragons are most famous for, breathing fire! Dragons don't actually breath the other Elements you know, it's just in Spyro to make it more interesting. They live out in the great open spaces of the African Savannah and the wild, windswept sands of the Sahara & Kalahari Deserts. Their lair is often a rocky crag or circular nest in the grass dunes, only used for protecting eggs; treasure may be buried nearby. Dragons hoard shiny treasure...

Depends upon who is writing the story in question. In the case of Spyro's world, I would say they have no relation and the wyrvens are unnatural creatures created by Malefor.

Shut the book, it does not nessicarly apply to Spyro's Universe. Based on their appearance, I would say the wyrvens is Spyro's world are more closely related to Grublins and Orcs than they are to Dragons.

Shadow Apes were to easy and to few. But I did like how they amde funny noises and stretch abnormally when you hit them.
