I don't know why everyone disagree's with you on just about everything 'cause I don't, I think you present VERY relevant points and besides they're your preferences and you should like what you like and say what you want to say, as long as it's within the rules of the site.

I prefer GTG Spyro to TLoS Spyro in looks and attidude, respectful and confident but not arrogant. I actually don't quite like his new look and I definitely don't like his new attitude, too sad and uncertain. Confidence looks better on hero's than melancholy. I also don't get the big hype about Cynder, she's barely ever seen and speaks even less.

That's good, keep it up!
The TLoS may does indeed have a strong story, albeit a strongly cliche'd one. I also prefered Sparx when he spoke with buzzes instead of real words, not because I hate him talking but because when they let him talk they turned him into an insensitive, unlikeable jerk.

Well Spyro the Dragon's old storyline foundations were historically torn down when the Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning was unleashed. Of course it was hard to focus on a new story than on an old story.
Spyro the Dragon is in my opinion the only "truth" it leaves a massive black hole to the past and it is easy and fantastic to use your imagination and imagine the pre-historical times to old story by yourself. This original "saga" had more original plot, more colourful characters and better joystick controls (before it was changed in Hero's Tail). Also the portal system was superior compared to "place skipping" in The Legend of Spyro. But faults are also recognized in this series. This series is too light! There are really no tragic deaths, no seriously tragic happenings but thanks to cosmos that good guys and love always beat evil and war! Also this game series represents "the good old Spyro" times that can never be beaten by some other story. The Legend of Spyro series gave me chills by its darkness and seriousness. Also the violence sign on game cover gave me big smile because finally Spyro series would have some great darkness but when the story went on and on my reaction: "Well not so original. This is like any "chosen one beats the odds and will be the hero of all!" story. In older story Spyro was no special chosen one; he was just a dragon among other dragons. And the tale about dragonflies being Spyro's step-parents made me laugh because I just didn't see anything logical in that. And Sparx gave me good laughs too by his origins in the story but then gave me real laughs when the story went on and on. This story's funny apes, baboons and mandrills made me sick but hey Krome studios co-working on the game... All in all I still confess Spyro the Dragon as the only truth there is because there exist the "Good old times", more original plot, portal system (R.I.P. good old portals) and fauna of characters. Even if this series has faults that annoy me personally I shall still bow in front of this fantastic Legend. R.I.P. Spyro the Dragon series 1998 - 2004 We'll miss you!

And how is this any more cliche than "previously unremarkable person beats all odds and becomes the hero of all" that was the story in the old games? |

I say both of them! :3 Old Spyro games bring back memories, about easy and funny games But i like MUCH MUCH more new spyro games story.
And new ones have new cool characters So, if we talk about spyro and others look..In first, second, thirt and fourth game Spyro looks same. But when Hero's tail came, WTF?! Then Spyro rrrrreally looks different. And then came ANB and TEN, and Spyro's look has changed AGAIN. Yes, i think he look's bit ugly..And what happened to he's eyes? Well, they have now cute purple colour, but glance looks sooo crazy! O.O Like he thinking "I'm crazy, and coming to kill you HAHAHAHAH" And how about the figthing style in new games? Well first i think "oh, **** really, why this is sooo hard?!" But when i play them much, i start to enjoy fighting and different styles how can beat dummies. I played TEN too much and getting bored, so then i played Hero's tail and other old games. It was..well.. i bored in 6 minutes. Then i was like: "Phew, thats enought, and now back to ANB and TEN!" xD And sorry about my bad English x) |

Well in the earlier games Spyro WAS NOT a special chosen one whose future has been written to legends etc. He was just a child dragon who was lucky enough to be only one to survive from Gnasty's evil spell. That's why Spyro had to do something against the evil threat. That's why he became by coincidence the hero not because he was chosen to be.

You evade answering the question. How is one more creative than the other? The answer is they are equally creative as there are only two ways that can go. They are either long awaited and special or they are not.

I don't know if there are statistics created based on this subject. But I think that heroic tales including the special chosen one have been written more than heroic tales with coincidental hero. So if my opinion is right, then Legend of Spyro story's hero is less creative and Spyro the Dragon story's hero more creative. But it turns my views upside down if there is evidence to prove me that I'm talking rubbish. But this is always my opinion about this thing and I base it on the things I've seen mostly because I haven't heard of heroic tales where the hero comes out from the dark without any prophecies telling about him/her.

There are unlikely all inclusive statistics, so which is creative is subjective. But you said one is more imaginative than the other, which when there are only two chooses is unlikely. And out of around fifty stories I currently have around, nearly all have the one you say is more creative.

Well, I can't help being ignorant about tales because I don't read so much and fantasy literature isn't my favourite but usually heroic tales have this chosen one factor but if there are so much of these "non-chosen-one" heroic tales that they outnumber "most imaginable" I'd be happy to be informed (please sophisticate me). But my main point criticizing the change of story plot was that it really took out the very basics that Spyro used to represent in earlier games. And that, as conservative Spyro fan as I am, made me miss the old story structure and also made me to be cry-baby against this new story. But one can't help fighting against it because that was the game makers' original plan; to give a whole new beginning to the series.

The only thing I am interested in showing is that you connot state if something is creative as a fact an be able to defend that possition as such.

Well have you been able to defend your opinion by showing good evidence? I haven't seen that. But neither I have been able to show you facts that could prove my statements right. But it's obvious then that it's hard to be creative nowadays because both stories have been used numerous times so none of them are more creative compared to each other. I admit that I wrote pretty unclear text and made myself forget the first argument but I won't now say the first argument that was in my mind back then. It's easier to invent storyline with chosen one because you don't have to use so much imagination. You have to just name hero and make some prophecy telling about this hero. But when you pick hero out from bunch of people you've got to think these questions: "How will the hero become hero?" "Why the hero is this person but not that other person?” But when you create chosen one story you don't have to think just these questions. You can focus on one person without thinking about the other characters. It's not so complicated. So which one is more creative? Well allow yourself to make your own arguments about the thing and let or not let others know.

Hmmm...I'd say Legend of Spyro series.I love them both, but I like LOS better. The story is better and I actually like the combat. The games are connected better.(like TrueSpyroFAN said)The older dragons don't look so.....wierd.(Haven't you seen the dragons in Shadow Legacy?!)Yeah,LOS doesn't have the OS charm, but if you look past that, they're beautiful games.Besides, there are only,so far,two LOS games. There isn't really fair comparism.
So that is my opinion.Yes.
