'Firestorm?'
Firestorm turned around to see her mother watching her.
'We had better go,' Terra said, sensing something in Firestorms mood that wasn't there a minute ago, 'right Glace?'
'Yeah, we'll catch you around Firestorm.'
'Cya later.'
Ignite slowly approached her daughter.
'Firestorm, you need to come with me. Do you know where your brother is?'
'He's playing with Whirlpool, why do we need to go with you?'
Ignite looked nervous.
'A family meeting.'
'Fine, I'll go get my brother. Wait here Mum.'
As Firestorm walked off Ignite felt a stirring of unease.
What will she say?

Meanwhile Ignitus had just found Spyro.
'Young dragon!'
Spyro turned wordlessly around.
'No point telling me,' he sounded a bit hurt, 'I already know.'
Ignitus approached him.
'How do you know young dragon?'
Spyro sighed.
'Let me go get Cynder, then we'll explain everything.'
He left before Ignitus had a chance to reply.
How does he know?

Spyro returned with Cynder a few minutes later.
'Can you take us to where you keep the books?'
His question was so direct it shocked Ignitus to the core.
'How-?'
'Never mind. Can you?'
'Yes......follow me young dragons.'
Ignitus led them to his private chambers.
'Go in,' he said softly.
Once inside Spyro sat straight down. Cynder followed his lead as Ignitus closed the door.
'You want to know what happened?' Spyro asked.
Ignitus nodded.
Spyro sighed.
'I wish we could tell you, but we can't yet.'
'Yet?'
Cynder gave a wry smile.
'We have been banned from telling anyone, including the Chroniclor what happened until as such a time as we are allowed to.'
Ignitus looked alarmed.
'How do you know about that?'
'We can see you as what you look like. Looking normal won't work on us like it does the others,' Spyro commented.
'What? But.....does that mean you are Celestial Guardians as well?!'
Spyro and Cynder smiled.
'Thats for you to work out,' Spyro said cheekily.
'What happened to you?'
Ignitus sighed.
'After I got you through the belt of fire I woke up in the Celestial Caves and then assumed my duty. I came here and brought the books and started to look for you two.'
'Oh, okay.'
The two stood up and began to leave.
'Spyro! Wait!'
Spyro turned around.
'Cynder you can keep going. I'll follow.'
'Yes?'
Cynder left, closing the door.
'I'm.....I'm your father.'
Spyro's expression was unreadable, but his eyes gave away his feelings.
'And we are having a family meeting tonight, do you think you could ask Flash and Nina along? We are trying to sort this out. Its at sunset.'
Spyro hesitated, then walked forward and rested his head against Ignitus's chest.
I am glad you are my father, Spyro's voice echoed around Ignitus's head.
Spyro lifted his head up and walked out of the room, leaving a very happy Ignitus in his room.

Sunset came and went and still Spyro did not show up.
'Ignitus?' Ignite asked, 'where is he?'
Ignitus was about to answer when Spyro, closely followed by Sparx skidded around the corner.
'Hi,' Spyro said, panting, 'sorry I'm late.'
Ignitus looked relieved.
'Young dragon! Try and be on time!!'
Spyro nodded and sat down on the other side of the visions pool in the great hall, eyeing Ignite cautiously.
'Firestorm, Firelight,' Ignite said, 'this is your brother.'
Spyro looked very nervous. Firelight looked overexcited. Firestorm on the other hand looked absolutely murderous.
'YOU MEAN WE'RE RELATED TO HIM AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN TELL US?!!!' she yelled, spinning round to face her mother, tail swishing angrily.
Spyro sighed.
'Let me guess,' he said, 'you didn't want to be related to me?'
'NO!!!!'
'Guess what! I don't want to be related to you either!'
Firestorm growled and stormed off.
'Honey....'
'I've always wanted a brother!' said Firelight, gazing up at Spyro.
Spyro sighed and looked at Sparx.
'Hey,' Sparx said shrugging, 'there your family.'

The world was in chaos, the volcano had erupted again and she could see the outlines of three dragons hovering in the air that was blood red. The ground was covered in wave upon wave of apes and trolls, all charging towards the city.......
'Hey!'
'ARRGH!!!!'
Terra jumped up with a scream off her bed and stared at Sparx.
'Hey calm down, its only me, Sparx. The big guy's told me to come and wake you up so that you can have training.'
Terra nodded.
'Thats......fine.'
'Well thats my job done. Meet them at the great hall.'
With that Sparx zoomed out of her room.
What..what was that dream about? It was so vivid!
Terra gave up trying to remember what it had been about after a minute and slowly walked to the great hall. When she got there it was jam packed.
'Terra! So glad that you could join us. Now if everyone could follow us please,' Volteer called out.
As the dragons filed out of the room Terra noticed that Cynder walked more slowly than the others and was staring at her.
Terra could do nothing but stare back as she approached her with a strange expression on her face. Cynder opened her mouth to say something.
'Why........'
'Terra! Cynder!'
It was Cyril.
'Come on you two, its training time!'
Giving them no choice in the matter Cyril pushed them along with his wings after the others. Cynder bolted ahead when she saw Spyro waiting for her.
'Go on Terra, hurry up, chop chop, haven't got all day.'
Terra began to trot after the others.
What was she going to say?

'Now, you are all going to stand in front of us.' Volteer said, 'and show us what you can do with your element. Viola, you will be tested against Spyro seeing as we cannot judge a purple dragon easily. Flame! You are first!'
Flame took a deep breath and stepped forward.
I can do it, I can do it, he thought.
Then he let out a burst of fire and a firebomb and stood there, waiting for the Guardians remark. There was none.
'Is that all you can do Flame?' Ignitus asked.
Sheepishly Flame nodded.
'Where we come from you don't need to have any other abilities.'
'You don't even know how to do a Comet dash? Or a fire fury?'
Flame sadly shook his head.
'Those abilities died out long ago.'
Spyro, Cynder and the guardians looked at each other.
'Why?'
Flame shrugged.
'They died out centuries ago. No one knows why.'
Ignitus looked out over the crowd.
'Everyone who has fire, go to that corner over there,' he said, motioning to the east corner.
'Earth to the west corner,' Terrador cried out.
'Ice to the north,' Cyril said.
'Electricity to the south,' Volteer said, 'all those who don't know their element stand in the middle.'
Ignite, Firestorm Firelight, and Flame all went over to the east corner.
Volts went over to the south. Vine and Terra went over to west. Glacier headed over to the north.
A large number of dragons stood in the middle, leaving the guardians to sort them out according to their colour.

Soon all the dragons were sorted except Viola, Fate and Ashes. Ignitus stopped in front of them.
'And what are your elements?' he asked.
'Fire, electricity, earth and ice,' Viola said, 'Fate here is the same.'
'And Ashes?'
Ashes looked proud and breathed out a wave of fear.
'I am a fear dragon. The only one of my kind.'
Ignitus looked shocked.
'A fear dragon?' he asked.
Ashes nodded. Then Cynder stood up.
'You are not the only one of your kind,' she said boldly.
Ashes smiled sadly at her.
'Yes I am. Oh how I wish that there was another like me.'
'Then let me fight you.'
'No! I cannot fight you! You are important, if I hurt you, I will forever be an enemy here!' Ashes protested.
Cynder raised her head.
'I insist.'
'Fight her Ashes....or are you too scared?!!' Spyro taunted.
Thrict, Jay and Spyro all joined in a chant.
'Scaredy dragon..scaredy dragon.'
'ENOUGH!!!' Ashes yelled, 'IF YOU WANT ME TO BEAT HER UP I WILL!!!'
Furious she stormed to the center of the raised platform in the middle of the clearing. Cynder followed, taking up her mark opposite Ashes.
'Are you scared little one?' Ashes hissed.
'Hardly,' Cynder answered.
The two began to circle one another. Ashes roared at Cynder.
I have her intimidated..... Ashes thought.
The least thing that Ashes expected was for Cynder to roar back. All the guardians jumped. They had heard that roar before.
Ashes tensed and growled.
'You were wrong to challenge me!!!'
She then breathed out a long wave of fear, Cynder did the same.
Wha!!! I am the only fear dragon! How can this be?!!!
Then Cynder disappeared.
Where did she go?....
Then Ashes screamed as Cynder leaped up from underneath her and began to air melee her.
'Never face a shadow dragon!' Cynder hissed into Ashes ear as she attacked her.
Ashes fainted and fell towards the ground as Cynder let her go........

This is twisted story. It's really good! Sorry I haven't posted. Been busy. I haven't even had time for my own story.

Ashes blearily opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling.
What happened? she thought.
The she remembered. The black female dragon biting her, staring at her with her bright white eyes. She shivered.
Dark dragon....how did she end up like that?
Slowly getting to her feet, she walked slowly to the door of the medicine chamber. Peeking through the gap she saw a busy, packed street. She carefully opened the door and went outside. A mole saw her and rushed off to tell the guardians.
'Now...where is the history chambers in this place?' she thought out loud.
A passing mole heard her and walked up to her.
'The history chambers are right down there, turn left, first corner on the right.'
Ashes nodded in thanks and walked off. By the time the guardians got there, she was long gone.

When Ashes got to the history chambers she headed for the dragon section.
I need to find a book on Cynder.
She purposefully headed to a wall which was covered in books. Selecting one about Cynder's past she began to read. By the time she finished it, she was in tears.
The poor girl.........corrupted and made to do the dark Master's bidding. No wonder she has dark breaths and a dark side.
The door opened and Terrador hurried in. Spotting her he rushed over to her.
'Ashes! You were supposed to stay in the health room. You could have been seriously injured !!'
Ashes laughed dryly.
'Are you worried about me Terrador? You should be worried about yourself and the others.'
'Why?'
'Because Cynder has a dark side.'

This statement, delivered so calmly by Ashes seemed to enrage Terrador.
'That is a lie!!!' he yelled, 'Cynder is a national hero!! She does not have a dark side!!!'
'WELL SHE HAS A DARK PAST!!!' Ashes argued back.
'WELL I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!!!'
With that Terrador turned and stormed out . Ashes sighed.
He knows that I'm telling the truth.....but typical him he doesn't want to believe it.
Ashes slowly exited the Hall of History and made her way towards the great hall where all the dragons would be at this time of day.

Spyro was too busy concentrating on how to steal some food off Taulms plate to notice Ashes enter the room. Taulm had been his enemy ever since, when he was 9, trapped Sparx in a cage in the hall in the dragonfly settlement. It had been up to Spyro to save him.
It was for this reason, and the fact that he had Spyro's favourite mushrooms on his plate, that Spyro was trying to steal some.
Almost there... he thought to himself, though he knew that Cynder could hear his thoughts.
He was about to grab a mushroom of his plate when a large slam from in front of him made him look up. Ashes was standing over him, wings spread wide and growling.
Cynder scurried away into a dark corner. She didn't want to face her, as she had attacked her.
'I see a darkness in your soul,' Ashes hissed quietly so that only Spyro could hear, 'fear dragons have that sort of ability you know.'
Spyro was spooked. Sitting up on his cushion he said just as quietly,
'Well you are wrong. There is no darkness of that sort in me.'
Ashes hissed.
'There is you liar! And in her!'
Spyro glared at Ashes.
'You leave her alone.'
'I DEMAND TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AT THE MOUNTAIN OF MALEFOR THIS INSTANT!!! FOR YOUR SAKE AND OURS!!'
Spyro was really glaring at her now. A glare filled with hatred and fear.
'NOTHING HAPPENED!!' he yelled back at her.
Ashes and Spyro became aware of every dragon in the room staring at them.
'Yes,' Cyril said, his tail curled around Glacier loosely as she was still getting used to him, 'tell us Spyro.'
'Yes, it would make a good folktale for sure!' Volteer chatted.
Spyro stared only at Ashes, his face screwed up with the effort of staying calm, he could feel the darkness inside him rising.
Cynder sensed this and darted over. Curling his tail round hers she tried to tug him out of the hall. She succeeded just as Spyro's eyes, turned a blinding white, still staring at Ashes.

As Cynder dragged him out of the hall, she reflected on how he had gotten riled up.
We need to be more careful.
She felt Spyro's rage simmer down over the time it took to get him to his room.
'Are you okay now?' she asked.
Spyro nodded wordlessly.
'Its not your fault you know. She did the same to me.'
'But it was my fault also....I made her fight you,' Spyro said, his voice ridden with guilt.
'No, it wasn't. You just thought that I could show her.......neither of us expected that to happen.....'
The two stayed silent for a long time. Then Cynder gasped at a pain she felt from her stomach.
Its happening.... was all she could think as she fell to the ground and felt Spyro begin to pull her to her room, 'its happening.....

Firestorm wandered the streets of Warfang alone. All she wanted to do was get to know her older brother, but she was in denial about the fact that he was her brother.
Why didn't Mum tell me? she thought.
A scream broke into her thoughts. Frightened she bolted to where it came from.
Someone's in trouble!!
She followed the screams to the sleeping quarters of the dragons.
What room? she thought desperately.
The scream came again. Firestorm dived towards the door of one room and frantically tried to open it.
They need help! I have to be the ones to give it to them!! There's no one else around!!
Finally the door burst open, Firestorm lunged in, and looked around for the one who was screaming. What she did not suspect was an attack.
Snarling, Spyro lunged at her from a corner.
'Get away from here!!' he snarled at her.
Firestorm was scared. She did as she was asked. She bolted out of the room towards the great hall, not looking back.

After Firestorm bolted, Spyro slammed the door shut behind her and walked over to Cynder, who was lying in the corner.
'Cynder?' he asked softly.
'It hurts Spyro,' she sobbed, 'it hurts.'
Then Cynder was racked by another jab of pain and she screamed. Both she and Spyro winced.
He can feel my pain, Cynder thought, he can feel it.......
The next thing Cynder knew, Spyro's wing was over her and he was whispering in her ear words of comfort.
As she was racked by yet another jab of pain, Cynder knew that it was going to be a long night.

Ignitus was worried. No one had heard from Spyro or Cynder since last night. After losing him and Cynder twice, he wasn't going to make it three times.
But Ignitus's worries were put to rest when he saw Spyro emerge from Cynder's room, supporting her. Cynder looked like she was exhausted.
'Spyro? Cynder?' Ignitus asked, approaching them.
Spyro jumped and looked up at him. Cynder just hung her head.
'Oh hi Ignitus,' Spyro said tiredly.
'Young dragon, where were you?!!'
Spyro looked at him.
'Questions later. Can you get some water for us?'
Ignitus was confused.
'Please...'
Ignitus nodded and walked off to get some as Spyro helped Cynder sit down by the visions pool in the middle of the courtyard. Ignitus knew, that by the way Cynder rested her head against Spyro, that something was going on between them.
Please just do it Ignitus......., Spyro's voice swirled around his head.
Yes young dragon, Ignitus thought as he walked off.

Ignitus came back with the water, bursting full of questions.
'Thanks Ignitus,' Spyro said as he handed the water to Cynder, who guzzled it down.
'Now....can you tell me what happened?'
Spyro looked at Ignitus and shook his head.
'Why-'
'Because here is not the place and you need to be shown, not told.'
Ignitus opened his mouth to ask what he meant, then shut it as he realized what Spyro meant.
'But what you can do for us is get some herbs,' Spyro said, 'from Mum and Dad.'
It was at this point Ignitus noticed that though Spyro had accepted him as his father, he didn't call him father. Spyro seemed to catch on to his train of thought.
'I won't call you father because I have a father, who raised me and taught me what I know.'
He also seemed to sense that this hurt Ignitus.
'I didn't mean to make you feel guilty,' Spyro said in a rush.
'Its okay young dragon.........'
Spyro hesitated then stood up, nuzzling Cynder.
Ignitus saw Cynder nod and lie down.
'Ignitus.......do you think you could look after Cynder for a minute or two while I go get the herbs she needs?'
Ignitus nodded wordlessly. Spyro smiled and walked off.

Spyro returned a few minutes later with a small bag of herbs.
'Thanks Ignitus.'
Ignitus nodded and stood up.
'Is there anything else young dragon?'
Spyro shook his head.
'Very well, I'll see you later.'
As Ignitus walked off he saw Spyro nudge Cynder and help her over to her room.
What is going on between them? he wondered as he walked off, what?

Cynder sank onto her pillow in her room as Spyro laid her down carefully.
'Here you go.......Mum said it would help you......' Spyro said as he gave her a herb pack.
'Thanks.....' she murmured quietly as she took the pack.
Spyro laid down beside her.
'Are you okay?'
Cynder nodded then looked up at the cause of her sickness, nestled in a bit of moss.
'I hope she survives,' she whispered as she drifted off to sleep.
Spyro looked at her, then at the egg.
'Me too.'

The next few months passed without incident. The dragon's training continued, they learned all the attacks and those who were just a bit rusty like Ignite, Vine and Ashes relearned their attacks.

The blood red sky eliminated all the blue. The outline of three dragons hovering above a massive army of creatures were vivid against the sky.Every single creature was facing Warfang, their weapons raised high....
Terra awoke, scared to death and panting.
It was that dream again........but it was just a dream.....just a dream.., she thought as she drifted off to sleep once more.
She was crouching in a long stream of grass, completely covered from the Seeker. The a bounding was heard and a small black female dragon with six horns on her head pounced on Terra.
'Gotcha Terra!' she said laughing.
Terra giggled and ran after the fleeing Cynder playfully. But the approach of Gaul stopped her chase. Cynder came running back to see why she had stopped chasing her.
'You will do just fine,' Gaul growled, picking Cynder up by the scruff of her neck.
'Terra! Help me!!' Cynder cried out as she was carried back to the Mountain Of Malefor, 'Help me!!!'
'Cynnie!!' Terra cried, trying to chase after Gaul.
The last Terra heard of Cynder as she knew her was her screams of pain...
It was now late at night and Terra was curled up alone in her dingy cell. Massive footsteps were heard outside and Gaul came in.
'Her next.'
'Cynnie!' Terra cried as she was picked up, 'Cynnie!!'
Gaul gave horrible laugh.
'Cynder is no longer a friend of yours Terra!' he said as she was carried out.
As Terra was carried out she saw a terrifying sight. A massive black female dragon with six horns on her head stood outside the door to Gaul's chambers...
Cynnie!!' Terra squealed as she was thrown into a room filled by a massive beam and placed in it.
'CYNNIE!!!' Terra screamed out loud as she woke up and jumped to her feet.

In her dream Terra is three, thats why she called Cynder 'Cynnie'.

Bolting out of her room Terra ran over to the Great Hall. She was sure that she would find Cynder there.
I knew I had seen her somewhere before!!!! she thought as she ran.
Then her footsteps began to falter.
But what if she doesn't know me? I know I only realized who she was to me when I had that dream...........
Before long she grounded to a complete stop. Staring at her feet, she fell onto to ground and cried.
She probably won't know me......
'Aren't you Terra?'
A warm, friendly voice startled her from her thoughts. She scrambled up and tried to wipe away her tears without the dragon noticing. Then she looked up.
Cynder stood before her, not big and evil like she was in her dream, but smaller.
'Cynnie...' Terra said under her breath, 'oh ummm...yes.'
Cynder looked a bit confused.
'What did you just call me?' she asked.
'C....Cynnie.'
Terra just stood there, waiting for Cynder's reaction. She saw Cynder's eyes cloud over as if she was trying to remember something. Then a look of fear crept into Cynder's expression.
'Please Cynnie.......I mean Cynder. I had a dream about my childhood last night and you were in it...we were playing chasey.'
'Then you must have made your dream up,' Cynder said, fear and curiosity in her eyes.
'No! I am no liar!! I tell you it was a memory!!!'
Cynder still looked dubious.
'Please....you have to believe me Cyn....Cynder.'
Then a cry broke their conversation.
'Hey! Cynder!!'
Spyro, Jay and Thrictum came running over. Cynder's expression turned from cautious to gleeful.
'You should head over to the Great Hall, Terrador is waiting for you.'
With those words she walked off to join Spyro and the others.
She used to look at me like that....in my dream...
Then Terra made up her mind. She walked slowly off in the direction of the great hall. When she reached the corner she ducked behind it and peered round.
Spyro, Cynder, Thrict and Jay were all heading off in the direction of the sleeping quarters.
I'll follow them..and see what Cynnie acts like..., she thought as she slowly crept off, subconciously using her earth powers to make her unheard. Then she froze.
Purple dragons have earth!!!
Quickly cancelling out her abilities she crept forward normally. When she reached the corner she peered round it and saw Spyro and the others go into his room.
What are they doing?
Sneaking to the wall she leaned peeked a look around the still slightly open door. What she saw made her gasp.
An egg!!! They had an egg!!
Unaware that Cynder had wind, and that she could sense her breathing Terra stood shock still. Then Cynder whipped her head around..and saw her.
Filled with fear, because she knew that mother dragons were very protective of their eggs she bolted for the great hall. She could hear Cynder's footsteps thundering behind her.
Its just like that game of chasey, Terra thought as she ran, I can hide anywhere and she will still find me! My only chance is to reach the great hall!!
As they neared the straight that led to the hall she heard Cynder, even closer now.
Subconciously Terra began to flap her wings and rose up into the air.
Huh? Why is it that the ground seems lower?
When she looked down she saw the ground getting smaller and smaller and panicked. She stopped flapping her wings and went into a freeform dive, spiraling towards the Hall entrance.
She smashed through the doors and lay there panting.
When she opened her eyes, Terrador, who was in front of her looked scared.
'Ashes,' he said quietly, 'I think I believe you now.'
Turning on her back Terra rolled over and lay on her back, then gasped.
Cynder, pitch black with bright glowing white eyes stood in the doorway, eyes trained on her.

All of the dragons in the room were in shock. The guardians began to back away from Cynder, they knew how strong she was. Terrador tried to drag Terra back with him, but jumped back when Cynder looked at him.
Terra was alone in this fight.
Cynder roared and breathed out a kind of black fire. Terra blocked it with her wing. She knew that if Cynder attacked her with her claws she was dead. Just when Cynder was about to leap on Terra, ready to kill, Spyro leaped out of no where and pinned her down, his tail waving rapidly. But not rapidly enough to eliminate the black that was going up his tail completely. Cynder struggled and tried to worm out of Spyro's grip, but Spyro held her fast.
He grabbed her by the tail and began to drag her out of the room.
Only Terra saw the fear in his eyes.
Then Cynder screamed with pain.
There was a sharp tang of blood in the air.

But when Spyro was knocked aside and thrown against the wall, Cynder being kicked there as well, and a large red dragon with a staff walked in, Terra knew she had no time to think.
Leaping backwards she ran to her mother.
'Well well well,' Red said, 'what have we here?? A whole room full of dragons I see.'
'You have no business here Red!!' Ember yelled at him.
Red chuckled.
'Oh but I do Ember. I have come to kill...all of you.'

Please wright more! I like the idea off Flame and Ember comming from the futer.

'You'll never get away with this Red!!!' Flame yelled at him, as he backed into a corner.
Red laughed evilly.
'Oh yes I will little dragon.'
'GUARDS!!! KILL THEM!!!'
All the dragons gasped, Flame started to move forward to fight Red. As he moved forward he saw Spyro had gotten up and was staring at Red's staff.
But Flame had no time to think about what he was planning before Red turned around and sneered at him
'Do you want to fight me?' he said, 'very well, but you won't survive this encounter!!'
With that Red struck Flame with the wooden end of his staff. As Flame struck the floor, he saw that the other end of Red's staff was a a crystal that glowed a light purple.
Why is it glowing purple? he thought.
Red saw him looking at the crystal and gave a snort.
'You want to know the story about this crystal? Well I don't know it, but it gives it wielder the power fire, ice, electricity and earth.........powers you don't have.'
Flame shook his head.
'I may not have all those elements, but it makes the dragon with those powers dangerous.'
Red looked worried.
'What do you mean?' he asked.
'I mean Spyro is behind you,' Flame siad.
Red froze and slowly turned around. Spyro was standing there, blood dripping down from a large gash on his side. His eyes trained only on the crystal.
Red gave a snort of laughter.
'You aren't the Spyro who defeated me last time!' he said.
Spyro didn't react for minute then slowly lowered himself into his fighting crouch, wincing from the pain from his side.
Red looked scared for a brief moment then got into battle stance. His staff held backwards, wings spread wide.
The next thing Red knew, he was lying flat on his back and Spyro was wrestling him for his staff.
Spyro won. Running backwards out of Red's reach he stared at the crystal which for some reason throbbed in time with his breathing.
'Young dragon?' Ignitus asked, 'what are you doing?'
Spyro didn't reply. What he did do was to slowly touch the crystal with one claw. Flame and the others could only watch as the purple slowly faded, leaving behind a swirling white cloud.

Spyro didn't open his eyes at first, when he did Flame, who was closest, saw that his eyes were a darker purple than they had been before. Flame could also see a small band of gold around his pupils.
What is that? thought Flame.
Spyro turned around and slowly walked to Cynder, who was still lying on the floor. The staff lay discarded on the floor.
Red dived on it, holding it up victoriously in the air. But his grin faded when he saw that all the glow had faded from the crystal. Angrily he whirled around to face Spyro, who just stared back as him.
'YOU!!' Red yelled, 'YOU ABSORBED THE POWER FROM MY CRYSTAL!!!'
Red was fuming and close to blowing his top with rage. Spyro just stood there, shock still with only his tail and wings moving, just staring at him. Then Spyro closed his eyes. He looked like he was deep in thought.
Red was furious.
'GUARDS!! KILL!!!!'
The next moment wave upon wave of gnorcs, grublins and many more creatures came rushing in. They had the element of surprise. Soon most of the dragons and moles in the room were captured and held in place by green bands round their necks. The bands were connected to large grublins with spiked clubs.
All except Spyro, Thrictum, Cynder and Jay that is.
Those four just stood there, surrounded by enemies. Jay had her weapons out and was watching all sides of the circle they were in. Thrict was raised up, his long body extending high above all of them, but you could smell his fear. Cynder was in fighting stance, and Spyro was as well.
There's going to be a showdown..., Flame thought as he struggled to get free of his bond.
Red sneered at Spyro.
'You think you can defeat me? Well I'll give you a clue, only Malefor rivals my power!!'
Spyro narrowed his eyes and crouched even lower down into fighting stance.
Next to him, Flame saw Viola gasp and strain on her chain.
My son..., Flame saw her mouth.
Then a movement from Cynder got Flame's full attention. She was looking straight at Thrictum. He saw Thrict nod and allow Jay to clamber on to his horns. Then, with a huge push, Cynder threw them up into the air. Thrict flapped his large wings and sped himself and Jay out of the hall.
Red looked uneasy.
'What are you planning?' he asked, 'I DEMAND TO KNOW!!'
Spyro cocked his head and grinned.
'You really wanna find out?' he asked cheekily.
Red growled and flared his wings.
'Yes.....'
Spyro looked smug.
'Then here you go!!!'
With those words he slowly went into the air, and was surrounded by a column of fire. Cynder covered her body with her wings, sweat streaming down her forehead.
Fire fury....
That was all Flame could think as he felt heat rush over him. But soon after it was followed by freezing cold air. Peeking open his eyes he saw nothing but white, then the white began to fade, and the air surrounded with static. Electricity fired at all the enemies and broke the ones covered with ice into tiny shards. Then the earth began to shake. This attack was soon followed by wind, then a light refreshing spray of water which turned into a raging river.
Then the attack stopped. Flame slowly opened his eyes. What he saw stunned him, and all the other dragons.
Blue light which seemed to slow everything down surrounded the entire room.
What is that light? Flame thought in wonder as he took a small step forward.
Then the light began to fade, and was replaced by endless waves of purple light that came out from where Spyro was.
Then that faded as well. It left behind nothing except charred ashes, broken bits of ice and shredded banners all over the hall. Red's body lay on the ground a few pawsteps away. He was only slightly breathing. Flame knew he was close to death.
Then his attention was drawn to where Spyro and Cynder were. Spyro was on the ground, panting while Cynder stood over him. Flame saw that Spyro looked exhausted. Cynder didn't look much better.
Then Spyro raised his head slightly and looked at Flame for a brief second, before collapsing to the ground, unconscious.
That is the power of the purple dragon....

Most of dragons stood well back from Spyro as he lay unconscious in the middle of the hall, debris scattered all around him. Only one dragon was brave enough to venture forward: Flame.
'Flame! Get back here!' Viola hissed, 'he is dark!'
'YEAH WELL IT WASN'T HIS FAULT!!!!'
An extremely angry Sparx zoomed in and hovered in front of Viola.
'HE WAS FIGHTING GAUL AND THE FLOOR CAVED IN, COULD YOU DODGE A CONVEXITY BEAM JUST AS THE ECLIPSE STARTED?!!!!'
Viola was speechless. No one had ever talked to her like that before. Then her eyes grew dark with rage and she lunged for Sparx, grabbing him in her paw and preparing to squash him.
'NO ONE TALKS TO ME LIKE THAT!!!'
Then Flame leaped on her and grabbed Sparx.
'Now is not the time Viola!!!' he said as he let Sparx go, 'there's a whole army out there!!! We need to fight them!!'
Viola gave a growl and raised her paw to swipe Flame.
'You're just like your son you know that?!!'
Viola whipped around. Spyro had got to his feet and was holding his back left leg up while leaning on Cynder.
'How do you know about my son?' Viola asked him.
Spyro glared at her.
'BECAUSE HE WAS EVIL AND WE HAD TO DEFEAT HIM!!!' Spyro yelled at her, 'HE CREATED CHAOS EVERYWHERE!!!'
With those words he darted out of the room, Cynder close behind him. All the dragons turned to look at Viola. The Guardians began herding the younger dragons out of her way.
'You're the mother of Malefor?' Terrador asked.
Viola's expression turned to one of hope.
'My son!! Can I see him?!!!'
The Guardians looked at each other.
'You are the mother of The Dark Master?'
'Who is The Dark Master?'
'An evil purple dragon who created chaos in this world for three years. He corrupted Cynder and is responsible for all the damage to this world,' Volteer explained.
'I don't believe you. My son would never do that!!!'
Then they heard wing beats outside and all tensed.

The wing beats were followed by a scream and the sound of apes laughing.
'No....,' Ignitus said as he looked at one part of the room that was covered in light.
Ignite looked at him curiously.
'Honey, what is it? There's nothing there.'
Then they heard deep mocking laughter. Two bright yellow eyes appeared, followed by a huge, see through body that was barely purple.
'One threat may be dead,' the dragon said, 'but another is still alive!!'
Then the dragon raised his arm and threw a small dragon hatchling onto the ground in front of him. The child was purple with six small horns on her head, with a gold underbelly and wing membrane. It was a female.
'Pity really. That this dragon should follow in the footsteps of her mother and serve me....'
Something seemed to click in Flame's head.
'THAT DRAGON'S MOTHER IS CYNDER!!!' he yelled and tried to dart forward to get to it. He was whacked aside like a rag doll.
The dragon gave a evil laugh and picked the hatchling up again.
'I MALEFOR, THE DARK MASTER, COMMAND ALL WHO FOLLOW ME TO WAGE WAR!!!'
Malefor laughed evilly and took flight just as a roar of sheer, utter rage echoed up from the ground outside. It was Spyro. For a brief moment fear over took Malefor's features, then it was gone, replaced by a look of rage.

Spyro was furious. He and Cynder had been fighting near their room when he had peeked in and saw their egg gone. He had roared to the sky and was now in flight, following a father's instinct to guide him to his child, Cynder not far behind him.
Then Spyro saw Malefor with a baby dragon in his claws. Roaring with rage he zoomed into the light and disappeared.

The dragons in the great hall were stunned.
'Malefor...alive?' Cyril wondered.
Ignitus looked at him.
'Not for long,' he said, 'listen.'
The dragons listened. At first they could hear nothing. Then they heard screaming, growling and the sounds of war. Then they didn't need to hear as Spyro shot in, on top of Malefor, trying to get to the child.
'So Spyro's the father.......,' Terrador said.
Ignitus nodded.
'We must assume so.'
Sparx shook his head in disgust.
'I knew I shouldn't have left those two alone, I knew it.'
None of the dragons were listening to him. They had just noticed something that scared the living daylights out of them. Spyro's eyes were completely gold.

the cheetah Jay is based on a character in one story thats not about Spyro, they like the same sort of things.

All of the dragons went stiff with shock. Malefor and Spyro were tumbling around on the floor, biting and scratching each other. None of them thought to help the small hatchling.
Then Malefor kicked Spyro off of him and grabbed the child. Spyro snarled and leaped into a patch of sunlight. Then he disappeared.
Malefor glanced uneasily around him and gave a small mutter. Then he flew out the door. At the same time he did, grublins and other dark creatures popped up out of the earth and slammed the doors shut. They went under the ground again and everyone heard the unmistakeable sound of the doors beings locked, trapping the dragons.
The heavy scent of fear was all around. All the dragons were tense, expecting an attack.
The the sunlight began disappearing. The dragons looked up and saw a black cloud driving away the light.
A faint noise made them all whip their heads around.
Spyro sat in front of the doors, his head hung low. Only one dragon knew what he was going through.
Ignitus slowly approached Spyro, half scared that Spyro might attack him. He didn't. He stopped when he was beside Spyro.
Young dragon, Ignitus asked with his mind, are you okay?
Spyro shifted his head and looked at Ignitus out of the corner of his eye. Ignitus noted that Spyro's eyes were normal again.
I failed Ignitus.....I failed to protect my child......
Ignitus was shocked. Dragons didn't usually say whether they were a dragons parents in public unless it was obvious or they wanted to make it known.
You didn't fail young dragon, you tried. And we will get her back....
She doesn't even have a name........
Ignitus was silent.
Spyro, he said a bit more strictly, we will get her back.
Spyro looked at him with bright eyes, all the cockiness of before gone.
