Iirc, Crash Bandicoot was the most popular Western platformer in Japan (I'm not sure if it still is though), so I think Crash would be a good example of a fighter that would appeal to both Western and Japanese audiences.

I still haven't played any Crash games extensively, but I enjoyed what I did play a long time ago. I agree that it would be pretty cool to see him in smash. How do the remakes of the original trilogy compare to the originals? I have a feeling that I've been missing out on something all these years.

Crash, Rayman, and Spyro are the only characters left that I could still feel significant amounts of hype for, but at the same time after getting Banjo I'm cool with pretty much anyone.

Couldn't play them yet myself unfortunately, but I hear great things about them. New content, a lot of adjustments and quality of life changes, great aesthetic... Only complaints I hear are minor but noticeable hitbox differences and a few artistic choices regarding lightning and color not working with everyone.

Thanks. I will have to check them out one of these days. I figured there must have been some reason they could remake those games and expect to make money off of it.
