It's obvious they won't go back to the old series, S2008, they'll probably continue where DotD left off, or do a different storyline in the same universe. Most of the fans here even want more of the LoS universe, more than returning to the old series. In my opinion, it would've make sense to just return to the old series after making a reboot of Spyro. And since one of the two producers of the LoS trilogy, Mike Graham, is going to be the only one directing more Spyro games, they'll probably be in the LoS universe.
