I can't believe that Cars is a mainstream Pixar franchise, to be honest. The first film was received well, but not nearly as well as other Pixar films. The only reason it is one is because of how much money it makes. I remember when Cars 2 came out, I was amazed by how many back ground characters had names and even small bios. I wondered why Pixar would put detail into that when it didn't really matter. Once Cats 2 came out on DVD/Blu Ray and the toys released on the background characters, I realized that the reason they made SO SO SO many characters was to make toys out of them and nothing more.

Hey is there anything you want me to bring for the rest of the week and if so it’s so cool that you can do something and just do it like that

Its a movie about living cars the idea in itself is an issue.

You can make a good film about almost anything.

Emoji

Trolls

Cars

The Emoji Movie sounds like a really lousy idea on paper, but so did The Lego Movie and it turned out to be one of the best animated films we've seen in many years. I don't have much faith in the studio behind it and the reason for its existence but they could surprise us.

I have little interest in Trolls but it's come out to positive reception so it may not be one to gloss over entirely.

And Cars doesn't reach the height of Pixar's finest but that in no way means it's a bad movie. It's genuinely good.

Of course as said earlier you can make a good movie out of anything, though it doesn't mean it will be good if put in the wrong hands. Once again going back to The Lego Movie, it could've easily been trash created entirely for cynical marketing. But given to the right people it became something a whole lot more.
