Hawkfrost ran ahead of Mistyfoot and Blackclaw, determined to be faster than them. "Where did you scent the badger?", Voletooth, a brown tom asked. "Near the river, by WindClan territory", Mistyfoot explained. At least Mistyfoot found something for a change, instead of Blackclaw "Then whyat are we waiting for lets go!"< Hawkfrost growled. "It would help if you'd get out of my way!", Splashpaw hissed. He dare talk to me like that?! Hawkfrost glared at the blue-gray apprentice, but said nothing. "What are you looking a-", Splashpaw's angry hiss was cut off when a huge badger lumbered in front of them. Hawkfrost and Blackclaw stalked around it, snarling and spitting. Hawkfrost bared his fangs and lunged, sinking his teeth into the badger's neck. The other cats joined in. He battered it's neck with his hind legs, only to have a paw swipe him away. Mistyfoot bit it's leg and the badger howled in pain. It charged at Hawkfrost and jumped. Hawkfrost dodged, somersaulting to the right and aimed a blow on the badger's muzzle. Blood oozed out of it. Mangy furball! As Hawkfrost was laughing the badger brung itself down on Hawkfrost. He struggled to shake it off, but it wouldn't budge. Get up you fat @ss hole I can't breath!

oh they won't kill it, just drive it away!

hawkfrost gasped for air. He pushed with his hind legs and flung the badger off. He panted, breathing in cool air and aimed a blow on the badger's throat. Blood poured out in a scarlet cloud. The badger choked and spluttered then ran off, leaving a trail of blood. Hawkfrost chased it, giving it one last bite to the leg, then stood proudly. "Wow, nice job!"< Blackclaw purred. "Yeah that was awsome!", Voletooth agreed. Mistyfoot sat in silence. "Good-work", she stammered. Hawkfrost just glared. "Thanks", he muttered. "Wheres Splashpaw?", Voletooth asked. Splashpaw laid on the ground, blood coming out of his leg. "Is he dead?", Voletooth raced up to him. Blackclaw sniffed, "I think so". "help me drag him back to camp", Mistyfoot murmered to Hawkfrost. He grunted and with Mistyfoot's help, padded back to camp, Splashpaw in their jaws.

Poor Splashpaw, but still, HOW DARE HE TALK TO HAWKFROST LIKE THAT? >80

As soon as the patrol was back in camp, Dawnflower, Splashpaw's mother raced across the clearing. "My kit! Oh my precious kit!", she wailed. Other cats raised their heads in alarm, wondering what was happening. Leopardstar emerged from her den, alarmed. "Whats going on?", she asked. Mistyfoot padded up to her to explain. Always her trying to take the credit! Leopardstar and Mistyfoot came back. "Hawkfrost?", Leopardstar asked. Hawkfrost padded torward her. "Yes, Leopardstar?", he replied. "I would like to congratulate you for driving that badger away. You are a credit to the Clan and a fine warrior. I'm proud to have been your mentor", she purred. Finally, some gratitude! Wait! ... How does she know!? ... Mistyfoot! For the first time, Hawkfrost felt a slight pang of respect, admiration, and something else he couldn't explain. "Thank you", he mewed and dipped his head to his leader. "Mosspelt, Ripplewater, please go bury Splashpaw", she ordered. "Yes Leopardstar", they both said and dragged Splashpaw out of camp.

As Hawkfrost watched, he couldn't help but feel a slight hint of sadness for Splashpaw. He didn't deserve to die. He sighed, a long, heavy sigh, sat down, and began to groom his ruffled tabby fur. When he was done washing, he slumped drwosily to the warrior's den and settled in for a nap. He curled his tail over his nose and let sleep overtake him.
Hawkfrost found himself lying in a dark forest, filled with no light. Where am I? Am-Am I dreaming? He stalked around, confused. "This place is so dark", he muttered. Suddenly, two outlines of cats appeared a fox-length away. He whipped around, snarling. Hawkfrost could barely see the two cats and the only thing he could see were two pairs of glowing amber eyes. A dense fog took to the forest. The two cats disappeared. What is this?! Hawkfrost was slightly scared, but he wouldn't let it show in case those two cats were still watching. He tried to claw at the fog, but his limbs felt weak and tired. I can't move! The fog swallowed up Hawkfrost in a dark cloud.
He bolted awake, panting. He scanned the clearing and let out a sigh of relief when he relized he was back in RiverClan. Was I dreaming? Mabye, but it seemed so real ... Wait! Mothwing! Dreams get sent to her by StarClan! Mabye she'll know! Hawkfrost padded torward the medicine cat's den, not knowing that Mothwing has a great secret.

ooooohhhh! she is a spirit! jk! but anyways, i like it!

actually, the cats who came to him are both toms, you'll find out who they are later in the story.

"Mothwing!", he called to the tabby apprentice who was sorting herbs in her den. "I had a weird dream", he told her. "Really? A dream? What was it like", Mothwing asked with little intrest. "I found myself in a dark forest, surrounded by fog with two cats appeared to me", Hawkfrost explained. "I don't know if it came from StarClan or not. Mothwing seemed to flinch when she heard him saw StarClan. "Whats wrong?" he sneered, his icy blue eyes narrowing. "Nothing!", Mothwing snapped. "Well, you're a medicine cat, shouldn't you be able to interpret this?", he growled. She sighed and looked up at the stars with a confused, sad expression. Don't tell him! Don't tell him!, Mothwing though as she looked at the hunger in her brother's ice-blue eyes. "Mabye StarClan is saying that your future is dark?", she guessed. "Besides that, I'm not sure". Hawkfrost snarled. "That can't be the real answer". His eyes were chips of ice. "I'm sorry, Hawkfrost, but I don't know!", she meowed. Hawkfrost glared. "Fine",he mewed curtly and padded off. Why did Mothwing seem to bescared when she metioned StarClan?

Hawkfrost dawdled over his prey, taking miniscule bites over his mouse. He couldn't stop thinking about the dream he had. Swallowtail trotted up to him. "No appetite?", she asked. "Nah", he replied coolly. "Are you shaken from that badger attack?", she asked, settling down next to him. Please ... I'm never shaken! "No", he growled. "Just a couple scars, nothing too bad", he reassured her. Leopardstar's call ringed across RiverClan. "Don't forget the gathering tonight at Moonhigh!", she reminded everyone. "See you there", Swallowtail meowed a goodbye to Hawkfrost and stalked off toward the warrior's den. Hawkfrost was a young warrior, he hadn't been to many Gatherings or made any friends from other Clans. I guess being Leopardstar's favorite has its limits! I don't need any friends from other Clans. I only talk with other warriors to spill their weaknesses. He looked at the dark indigo sky stretching over the land. "its late", he reassured himself. He padded t the warrior's den. many cats were asleep. He found an open spot between Blackclaw and Mistyfoot and settled in besides them, nuzzling in for warmth. He hoped that another dark dream wouldn't come and that he could just sleep dreamless.

Hawkfrost woke. All the warrior's were stirring and getting up at Moonhigh (midnight) for the Gathering. Blackclaw was still fast asleep. The smoky black tom was snoring slightly and he had his paw over his face. Hawkfrost couldn't help but suppress a mrroww of laughter. "Wake up you lazy furball!", he hissed to Blackclaw. Blackclaw jolted awake and followed. Leopardstar made the speech. "I have decided that I will take Mistyfoot, Hawkfrost, Mothwing, Blackclaw, Poppypaw, Rosepaw, Stonestream, Mosspelt, and Honeypaw. Yes!, Hawkfrost thought. Leopardstar then gathered up her warrior's and headed down toward Fourtrees.

Hawkfrost padded besides Mothwing and Mistyfoot. He was excited to go to the Gathering so he could hear about the other Clan's news. The moon was a dark yellow color, it stood out in the dark black sky. "were hear!", Leopardstar called. "Wow I've never seen so many cats!", Mothwing beamed. "Of course you haven't your a medicine cat!", hawkfrost grolwed. Mothwing just rolled her eyes and stalked off to join the other medicine cats. Just then, a large, flame-colored tom padded up to him. "You must be hawkfrost", the orange cat asked. "Yes", Hawkfrost said warily. "I'm Firestar", the large tom introduced himself. The ThunderClan leader! "Pleasure to meet you", Hawkfrost purred, dipping his head. Firestar nodded. "Enjoy yourself", he mewed and padded off to a group of WindClan cats. Hawkfrost looked around, unsure of where to go when a small, ginger she-cat barreled into him. "Hey!", he snarled. "watch it!". The she-cat flinched. "Well I couldn't help it!", she argued. "Shrewpaw was chasing me!", she pointed her head to a small, dark brown tom. They both have ThunderClan scent on them "I'm Squirrelpaw by the way", she introduced herself. Hawkfrost glared, his icy blue gaze piercing. "hawkfrost", he growled. he padded over to Shrewpaw. "tell you rfriend to watch out, or you'll both be crowfood", he hissed and padded off. Apprentices!

ha! poor hawkfrost!

A loud call ringing all around Fourtrees. Cats from all Clans padded and looked up at the Great Rock where the leaders sat. On the edge of the boulder sat Leopardstar, RiverClan's leader, and Hawkfrost's leader. Next to her sat a black-and-white tom with a very long tail. This was Tallstar, WindClan's leader. Next to him sat Firestar, ThunderClan's leader, the flame-colored tom. At the shadowy edge of the Great Rock sat Blackstar, ShadowClan's leader, a huge white tom with jet-black paws. "Leopardstar, why don't you start first?", Firestar suggested. Leopardstar nodded. "Everything is well in RiverClan. The river is flowing well and prey is plentiful. We have one new warrior and a new medicine cat apprentice." She pointed with her muzzle at Hawkfrost and Mothwing. "Mothwing". Cats looked at her, she nodded shyly. "And Hawkfrost". Your favorite! Hawkfrost lifted his chin, proudly. "Hawkfrost, Mistyfoot, Blackclaw, and Voletooth drov a badger out yesterday", she beamed. She doesn't want to mention Splashpaw because that would make the Clan look weak "That is all", she said and stepped back. The other leaders continued their speeches. When all was done, cats from all Clans began turning back to their territories. Hawkfrost followed RiverClan padding back to camp as dawn was breaking. But before he left another cat stopped him. "Your Hawkfrost right?", the warrior said. Hawkfrost spun around. The cat was a dark brown tabby like himself, but he had amber eyes. "I'm Brambleclaw", he greeted. "Hawkfrost", he grunted. "Well, I guess I'll see you around", he meowed and padded back toward ThunderClan. As Hawkfrost watched him, he got the strangest thought. That cat looks a lot like me?

even the shadow clan leader is there?

Hawkfrost glanced over his shoulder once more at the tabby who looked just like him. And just like Tigerstar... He raced up to all the cats that were heading back to RiverClan. Dawn was approaching and Hawkfrost couldn't help stiffling a yawn. "Its been ages since I got some sleep around here", he moaned. "Too bad for you", Swallowtail hissed, overhearing him. "leopardstar wants you to do the dawn patrol". Hawkfrost hissed with rage, clawing at the ground. Then he looked around, embarresed by his kitlike behavior. He padded next to Leopardstar. "Leopardstar?", he asked. "I've been really tired so I was thinking someone else could go on the dawn patrol?", he asked. She looked at him for a long moment. "Very well", she sighed. "I will send Voletooth instead". "But after you rest you are doing a hunting patrol and the night watch", she ordered. Hawkfrost dipped his head. "Thank you Leopardstar. I shall make sure I have enough strength", he promised. Leopardstar nodded and raced off to camp. Hawkfrost followed her, his powerful shoulders jolting up and down with each stride he took. He drowsily stalked to the warrior's den and curled up in the back. He wrapped his tail over his nose and settled in for a long sleep.

Just as he said that a huge dark brown tabby tom leapt into the air and barreled him over, pinning him down. Hawkfrost tried to wriggle free but the tom's massive paws held him down and his dark amber gaze was peircing, as it had just spotted a juicy piece of prey. "Worthless!?", the tabby asked. He kicked Hawkfrost with his hind legs, flinging him through the air. Hawkfrost twisted in the air, landing on his paws. "What do you want?", he spat. The tabby held his gaze, ice-blue eyes burning into amber. "I am Tigerstar", he growled. Hawkfrost was speechless. "M-My father?", he asked. Just as he finished his sentence hawkfrost felt as if every limb of his was frozen solid, like the river in leaf-bare. He tried to speak, but couldn't say anything. He watched helplessly as the dark tabby tom backed away into the shadows, amber eyes glowing with promise. Hawkfrost jolted awake. It was sunhigh. "Better go on the hunting patrol", he yawned and raced out of the den.

Wow, I like it! Poor Splashpaw, he was mah favourite. That's funny, I was reading Warriors Super Edition (Firestar's Quest) like five minutes ago.

Hawkfrost only caught a squirrel and a thrush on the hunting patrol. He was too shook by the dream. And Tigerstar ... He hissed with annoyance when nightfall came and he had to take his place watching the camp. Mistyfoot was on watch too, casting occasional glances over at Hawkfrost. Her light gray-blue fur shone silver in the moonlight while Hawkfrost's pelt glowed black. Mistyfoot shivered as frost came down from the sky. "Cold, huh?", Mistyfoot asked Hawkfrost. He grunted in reply. She narrowed her blue eyes at him, glaring. Hawkfrost glared back, blue eyes burning into ice-blue. He looked away. I hate this! Well ... I guess it's better than dreaming about Tigerstar! He sat down, his white underbelly showing. He wrapped his dark tabby tail over his paws and let his broad-shoulers relax. How much longer will Tigerstar haunt me?
