The reason shoulder buttons don't work is because they have assignments this time around. There are too many special functions they had to kick them. When you get to those points, you realize not doubling up was the way to go.

What are these functions that they ditched them for?

Is there seriously no arena mode? I thought I hadn't unlocked it yet or something. And do shoulder buttons not work as alternates anymore? And what is that training thing at the Academy with Buzz for? I was messing with it while trying to find some sort of arena and the greebles would just disappear through the floor when they get knocked out of the circle...

I don't understand the love for Superchargers. Maybe I'm biased because I was skeptical as soon as we saw the different bases that don't match any of the others and the announcement of vehicles as the gimmick. If there's seriously no arena mode... I'm actually disappointed I bought it. I did not expect to feel that way. I thought I'd still enjoy it.

It's not all rainbows for me. I miss quick brawling content apart from the game, and Swap Force had this in spades. I get this is a racing game first but as a skylanders game people have come to expect this. I'd like to submit to Activision that they should NEVER, EVER release another Skylanders game without the ability to do grinding brawling---if for nothing else than for XP grinding, try out your characters abilities etc. Smacking the Greebles at the Academy and having to visit a level just isn't cutting it for me. The sting of online and racing does help, but again, THIS IS A SKYLANDERS GAME. I prefer the fact that we had DIFFERENT after game content in SuperChargers, but it should never SUPPLANT it. For that reason, SuperChargers is great for different racing content with modes, but that's it...Trap team had two types of brawling...and was limited....so it's almost equal in that regard.

I strongly agree with you on this point. No sort of arena mode after it being established and expanded upon (KDC) in the previous two makes this game a huge, HUGE disappointment to me.

Trap Team had the best arena mode in KDC, so I disagree with your point here. But I agree with most of what you're saying.

^ TfB has brawling down cold...my point was that they didn't really integrate any of the gimmick concepts in it.

They really need the notion of "something old, something new" and make sure the gimmick is part of the after story feature and at least one other well thought out mode for brawling (with different modes) makes it in. In criticquing Trap Team, they should've had a mode for a ladder survival mode with villains, or the ability to PvP with another player as villains etc. They put all their eggs into Tower Defense and Brock Challenges. I would've liked PvP vehicles mode, PvP skylanders mode (with online) with SuperChargers, or survival or points mode in a type of arena. I don't think it would've been that hard for them.

Sorry VV, Skylanders battling each other can be sold as them "getting better by fighting each other". If the number of characters is a problem keep it to the new guys only. My family has REALLY missed this mode....

Agree with you guys: no arena mode, no brawling at all outisde the vehicles is kind of dissapointing.

The online helps though, but a pvp online what have been amazing.

I really miss the Arena mode from TT, and I think there's appalling lack of enemies in the regular chapters. I wish we can bring Superchargers Skylanders to TT. Furthermore, the traps are pretty useless in SC, and considering how expensive Activision charged for each trap, that's a major disappointment. Personally, while the vehicle modes are nice, I do like TT a little more than SC.
