You know... I couldn't pinpoint why I like playing him so much but this is just it. That, and it feels like they gave a great sense of weight to his moves.

I played him again in SA and... I still don't get why people seem to hate his playstyle, I still think he's one of the best SA characters, and when it comes to redundant playstyles Zap/Flameslinger is much worse. Granted that Zap lighting his trail sets him apart a bit (plus the slowing slime, though it's barely noticeable in SA... '), but as much as I like him he still felt like Flameslinger with an inferior tertiary, especially comparing their reposes.
I digress, comparing Sunburn with Hoot Loop just because both teleport is kinda dumb when the latter is a long rather than mid range character. Cynder is the only one really similar- IMO, she's inferior because her attacks feel like they have less oomph and are less satisfying for it, and dash -> lightning breath gets old fast.

Make the phoenix dash/its endlag faster (it always bugged me that it was barely faster than walking) and maybe improve the teleport speed a bit and I think Sunburn would be fantastic. The character is badbutt and looks great and there aren't that many dashing mid-rangers- none that spring to mind, anyway, and I can't think of any others who teleport except for Cynder.
