And yet in an ironic twist, everyone who's been saying that they don't care must have cared enough to have taken the time to read the whole thing that I posted, otherwise they're just saying it to spite me (which, frankly wouldn't be surprising because a lot of people like to do that here).

Yeah to be fair that's true enough. And something tells me if the controversy was based around conservatives people would be up in arms calling them stupid.

It's a double standard but it's expected when S&N is mostly comprised of high school/college age liberals.

No, I just don't care.

That's a paradoxical statement considering you keep coming back to post here.

well when it's something as stupid as analyzing politics in SpongeBob Squarepants of all tv shows people will probably be somewhat interested. And surprise, it is as stupid as it sounds.

It's a freaking kids show for christ's sake. i don't think the writers wrote this episode with any government agendas in mind.

Let's be fair here guys. It's perfectly possible for a children's show to take a stance on certain issues or address current events. And usually if a children's show does so, it's in a liberal fashion so not that many people pay mind, though there are exceptions. I recall Fairly Odd Parents often making references and jokes relating to politics and current events that we wouldn't get as kids, but adults would.

And while such a line like this is meaningless and a case of people getting worked up over nothing, if it were a legitimate subliminal message forcing a political stance on children, it would certainly be cause for alarm.

fair enough. though i still think it's a tad overblown that people are bent out of shape over something as little as this in a cartoon.
