That would be quite annoying, for the true collectors who want every variant and every repose, but it would also be a way to have something to sell, before the next game launches.

They should save some of the minis and variants for the summer so there is no black hole. Remember what they did during the Giants era??? They had nothing to sell after Polar Whirlwind, so we saw the Halloween Eye Brawl right before Swap Force...and that received a lot of complaints since it wasn't an in-game variant...Amazon reviews ripped that poor guy apart.

The Skylanders Trap Team facebook page just posted end of the month, whoever runs that. Am sure it will be out in other countries before USA as before.

There's always two sides to every story too though.

TFB/Activision may have also seen the massive burden it was when the price point of those packs was just too high. Many parents and people I know passed up one or both simply because they couldn't afford them.

I may be preaching to the choir here but also there's TONS of people who also don't get into the expansions, they either don't like them, find them too short, or just don't buy them.

MOST of the expansion packs from SSA are still around as is the one from SF. I see them alllll the time obviously with the exclusion of the pack with Ghostroaster. Periodically I'll even still see the one with Sunburn at my local Toys R Us. They don't sell well. The battle packs either unless they have something exclusive or were limited...

Just doing the trapmaster and the traps separately allows for alot more sales.


NOT ONLY ALL OF THIS BUT:

By creating a limited run of a very cool "must have" toy that's too expensive/impossible to find, having a more affordable way to purchase at a later time will almost guarantee a sell out of that product because of what the exclusivity was.

I'm curious if the Knight Mare and Knight Light single packs would come with their soul gem already unlocked, since you would otherwise have to play the level expansion to get it.

Also I think they kinda didn't release the light and dark packs properly . There should've been a big unveiling and release for the 2 new elements people have wanted since SA.

The could've used the new release light and dark elements to really boost sales. introducing the 2 new elements could've warranted its own game a year or 2 ago so it feels like they wasted an opportunity.


Keeping them secret for the first 2 months then having a very limited release around Xmas seems like a weird idea. Single packs of the light and dark elements could only help the situation.

I forgot about that, I don't think they do that though.

The game is in charge of the unlocked soul gem, not the figure . If you find a soul gem but don't buy the upgrade on a figure, and then start a new game , the upgrade goes back to being locked.

Maybe a system update to unlock them ? Or Maybe the actual expansion packs were limited releases because they were gonna update the system to include them anyway . And the physicsl museum and spire figures are just rare toys.

Or maybe they'll just make u wait for sky 5 to buy that upgrade.

It may be that as part of wave 5 or later releases, we get Spotlight and Blackout in the new adventure pack, for a lower price.
