How I feel about Stuff and Nonsense section of the dS forums? That is the big question here and I wish that I can answer to that question as well as I can. The definition of this place is that it is a place for non-conversations. So it is about small talk, topics with no remarkable substance and debate.

That makes this section a nice place to just relax and let the brains go to rest. To me this place has been practically the only place where I have managed to post on regular basis since the discussion about Spyro outside of Skylanders universe is practically on coma. So this place holds a certain sanctuary value to me. Here I can just be without thinking. I hope that I made clear point here.

The only thing that sometimes gives me the feeling of frustration about S&N is its pointless trends and misplaced topics. Usually I dislike trends because I do not understand the point in them. I understand the fundamental “logical” working behind the reasoning for having them in social communities of the internet but the substance of the trends themselves does not intrigue me a tiniest amount.

The point of misplaced topics explains itself quite well. By the definition this section of the forums is sanctioned only for non-conversations which means that meaningful discussion of profound nature does not belong here. All the philosophical, religious, political, current significant event topics should go to Idle Chatter, at least that is how I have seen the things. So that is one of pet peeves about this section.

But all in all S&N has been a quite nice place to hang around. Even though I do not participate that much in many of the topics, majority of them is actually a nice read when enjoying the first coffee of the day and in the times when one does not simply figure out anything else to do on computer and in internet. I like it.
