Well it was probably either that,a small version of some of the existing landers, or a man-eating plant...dog...thing. Looking at the concept art for him, that seems to be the direction he took. Who knows,maybe he thought that if the worked any longer it'd end up being another Cyclops Slime situation.

I disappointed in Thunderbolt after a closer look. Now I am so confused on what air trap master I want.

Don't forget the completely original Plant Dragon look they tried going for.

More than anything, it sounds to me like I-Wei got a bit of Artist's Block with Food Fight. But many other Skylanders look more interesting, plus I don't think it's fair to criticise him for it if it was the case, so it's not really an issue considering the rest of the roster. Would have been nice to have someone cooler like Chopper over him in the Starter, though (but based on Food Fight's lukewarm reaction, I don't think he'd sell as well on his own, which is probably why they put him in).

^ There was a video of I-Wei giving a presentation at a mechanical something convention, where most of this information was presented. Good stuff on the evolution of some characters. He doesn't crank them out easily, which tells me his process works.

He does better on his off day than some people do on their best day. Can't always win them all.

As I took a better look at the HD pics of the new Skylanders and Trap Masters, here's what I thought about them:

1) Cobra Cadabra - second snake Skylander with arms like Rattle Shake

2) Enigma - transparent on the bottom. (Definitely want him even more than Blastermind)

3) Fling Kong - rides a flying carpet and uses frisbees/discuses as projectiles

4) Trail Blazer - first pony as a Skylander

5) Echo - resembles to a sea dragon in actual draconic form. She could be Zap's girlfriend, but not entirely sure if Echo is female. (Definitely want her.)

6) Thunderbolt - could be a cloud demon and his weapon is a Traptanium Thunder Sword (Not so sure if I want him or Gusto, or both)

7) Tuff Luck - most certain Tuff Luck is a girl and the cutest Life Trap Mistress (Definitely want her even more than Bushwhack)

8) Short Cut - judging by the stitches on his forehead, he could be a raggedy puppet (Probably want Krypt King way more than Short Cut, or both)

I think he might have a poster without the question marks on it. If we contact him, we might be able to get photos of the question mark Villains and/or Skylanders.

Fist Bump doesn't look much like Kaos (to me) now. His jaw is sticking out, and his face just doesn't bear too much of a relevance to Kaos.

Seeing Thunderbolt in the HD pictures makes me like him less. I think I'm going to switch to Gusto for my air Trap Master. The only thing I don't like about Gusto though is that lightning ball attack. Really makes no sense for him to have that.

That is a better picture. But I still can't really love him like I did before the HD pictures. He will definitely be cool, but I'm pretty sure I'm switching. Besides, my brother is getting Thunderbolt, so I'll still get to see how he is first hand.

I am in the same boat as you. I love the air element. I think if Thunderbolt is in a late wave I will just get Gusto on special.
