Chapter 19

Stump Smash and his team are almost back the Skylander camp when Scratch spots something in the distance.

‘Guys I think we may have a problem’ she says.

‘What is it Scratch’ asks Stump Smash.

‘There’s a black light coming from between those hills’ says Scratch.

‘That can only mean Kaos’ says Star Strike.

‘We’d better get back and warn the others’ says Boomer.

‘I’ll meet you there’ says Scratch as she flies off.

Meanwhile back at the ruins, Eye Small is getting nervous because the core of light is acting a little peculiar.

‘This can’t be good’ says Eye Small as the light from the core starts to change slowly from white to grey, to black.

‘What’s wrong with it?’ says Barkley.

‘I wish I knew Barkley’ says Eye Small ‘but I’ve never seen anything like it’.

‘I have’ says Scratch as she lands.

‘Am I glad to see you’ says Eye Small ‘where are the others?’

‘On their way’ says Scratch looking around ‘where is everybody?’

‘Gone’ says Eye Small.

‘I can see that Small, but where?’ says Scratch.

‘Cynder, Flash Wing and Jet-Vac went to find Hex, Hoot Loop went to find Terrafin, the Giants went to find Rex, the minis went to help out, and everyone else has gone to Kaos’ castle’ says Eye Small catching his breath.

‘And they left you on your own?’ says Scratch.

‘Pretty much, it’s just me and Barkley but he’s been hurt’ says Eye Small.

‘You never should have been left alone, what were they thinking?’ says Scratch.

Hey, I can look after myself’ says Eye Small sounding offended.

‘I don’t doubt that’ says Scratch ‘but guarding the core is a big responsibility’

‘I can handle it’ says Eye Small banging his fist on his chest.

‘I’m sure you can’ chuckles Scratch.

The ruins start to shake as one by one the elemental symbols on the core start to turn black, starting with Air.

‘Ahhh’ screams Scratch as she doubles over.

‘What’s the matter?’ says Eye Small.

‘I just felt like something hit me in the heart’ says Scratch ‘ahhhh!!’.

She falls to the floor clutching her chest.

‘Scratch, what can I do?’ says Eye Small.

‘Find a way to turn off the core before it destroys all of us’ pleads Scratch

In the Underworld Cynder’s team are no closer to finding Hex

‘This is hopeless’ says Cynder ‘we could look down here forever and never find her’

A small ghost floats by looking miserable.

‘Giving up is always the best option’ he says gloomily ‘it’s what your friend did’.

Cynder turns her head ‘what do you know about our friend?’ she snaps.

‘Nothing much’ sighs the ghost ‘just that you’ll never find her so you may as well quit, then again I don’t have any friends so I don’t know what it feels like to have anyone worry about me’.

‘I wonder why ‘mutters Jet-Vac.

‘Could you tell us what you know?’ asks Flash Wing’

‘What’s the point?’ says the ghost ‘it won’t change anything’

‘Listen to me you miserable pile of ectoplasm, you either tell us or I’ll fry you’ snaps Cynder as lightning crackles around her mouth.

‘No need for that Cynder’ says Flash Wing ‘please tell us it would mean a lot’.

‘Very well’ sighs the ghost ‘she was taken by a Werewolf’.

‘What Werewolf?’ says Jet-Vac ‘there aren’t any in Skylands’.

‘There was once’ says Cynder ‘he must have gotten out when Cloudcracker fell, and if he has there’s only one place he’d go’

She takes off at as fast as she can.

‘Where are you going?’ shouts Flashwing.

‘South' shouts Cynder ‘I just hope we’re not too late’.

Chapter 20

The Giants prepare to storm Kaos’ castle.

‘On my signal’ says Crusher.

They all nod in agreement.

Crusher raises his hammer

'NOW!!' shouts Crusher

They all rush forward at the same time and the doors are shattered.

‘Prepare to be crushed Kaos’ shouts Crusher.

They’re shocked by what they find, because Kaos is nowhere to be seen.

‘What are you guys doing here?’ says Crusher looking around the room.

‘The same thing as you apparently ‘says Spyro.

‘So where is he?’ asks Hothead.

‘Search us’ says Chill ‘he was long gone but left us a little parting gift’.

She points to the block of ice with Grinnade inside.

‘Not like him to shy away from a fight’ says Ninjini ‘he’s up to something’

‘I think you might be right’ says Whirlwind pointing at a black light in the distance.

‘What is that?’ says Eruptor.

‘I don’t know, but I know someone who will’ says Spyro looking at Grinnade.

‘Are you mad?’ says Chill, he tried to blow us up.

‘What other choice do we have?’ says Spyro ‘we need to know’

He starts to melt the top of the ice, so that only Grinnade’s head is freed.

‘We have a question for you Grinnade’ says Spyro.

‘Get lost Skyloser’ snaps Grinnade ‘I’m not telling you anything.

‘I’d re-consider if I were you’ says Slam Bam cracking his knuckles ‘unless you want to be a permanent ice sculpture.

‘You’re bluffing’ says Grinnade ‘you need me’.

‘I never bluff’ says Slam Bam forming ice in his palm.

‘Grinnade stares and starts to panic not liking the thought of being permanently on ice ‘alright I’ll talk, just keep the Yeti away from me’.

‘So talk’ says Spyro ‘what is Kaos planning?’

‘Hahahaha’ laughs Grinnade ‘that amateur, he’s nothing compared to my queen’.

‘What queen?’ asks Spyro.

‘Her magnificence, the Golden Queen’ smiles Grinnade.

‘Never heard of her’ says Spyro.

‘Ba da beep, I have’ says Drill Sergeant rolling forwards ‘she was around the same time as the Arkeyans, and rumour has it that she just vanished without a trace and no-one knows how or why’.

‘It’s because that meddler Eon banished my queen to Cloudcracker prison’ sneers Grinnade ‘she is the rightful ruler of Skylands’.

‘We’ll see about that’ says Ninjini ‘where can we find her?’

‘I’ve told you too much already’ says Grinnade cowering.

‘Have it your way’ says Slam Bam cracking his knuckles ‘one bombsicle coming up’.

‘NO….’ screams Grinnade anything but that I beg you’.

‘Then talk’ says Ninjini pointing her sword at Grinnade.

‘The queen would kill me’ whimpers Grinnade.

‘We’ll do worse than that’ says Slam Bam smiling ‘we’ll make sure no-one ever finds you again’

‘Alright’ says Grinnade I’ll tell you, her castle is south of here, but she is not someone to be taken lightly’.

‘How bad could she be?’ laughs Fryno ‘we’ve taken Kaos numerous times, she’ll be a piece of cake’

The Skylanders prepare to leave again, to face their newest enemy.

‘What about me?’ shouts Grinnade ‘I thought you were going to release me’.

Chill turns and winks ‘stay cool Grinnade’

‘You can’t do this to me….’ Screams Grinnade as he’s left alone in the throne room.

Meanwhile the Golden Queen is watching as the events start to unfold.

‘I knew Grinnade would tell them about me’ smiles the Golden Queen ‘just the way I planned it’

She walks over to the core of darkness and laughs.

‘As soon as they arrive I’ll have all the Skylanders right where I want them, and then there will be no-one left to stop me as I take my rightful place as the ruler of Skylands.

Chapter 21

Hoot Loop and Terrafin re-appear at the base of what used to be Cloudcracker prison.

‘We’re back, Small’ shouts Hoot Loop ‘Small…’

‘You bird brain’ snaps Terrafin ‘where did you bring me to?’

‘My bad’ says Hoot Loop ‘the disks can sometimes be a little unpredictable’.

‘You don’t say’ says Terrafin rolling his eyes ‘I knew I should have dug my way out’

‘Stop complaining’ says Hoot Loop ‘at least you’re not in a cell anymore’.

‘True, but where are we?’ says Terrafin looking around.

‘That’s easy’ says Hoot Loop ‘we’re ugh, ah’.

‘Meaning you have even less idea than I do?’ says Terrafin kicking the dirt ‘owww my foot’

He reaches down and picks up what he thinks is a rock.

‘Hey this is Traptanium’ beams Terrafin.

‘I know where we are’ cheers Hoot Loop ‘this is Cloudcracker prison’.

‘Some prison’ says Terrafin ‘the ruins look better than this place’.

‘At least we know where we are’ says Hoot Loop smiling.

‘mhmm’ says Terrafin ‘you still need to work on your aim, we were supposed to be getting back to the ruins’.

‘Well I can have us there in no time’ says Hoot Loop.

‘Oh no you don’t’ snaps Terrafin ‘I’ll dig my way back, I just need a direction’

‘Suit yourself’ says Hoot Loop ‘just head West and you can’t go wrong’.

‘See you there then’ says Terrafin as he grabs a few of the Traptanium shards and heads for the ruins.

Hoot Loop sighs and steps on to his teleport disk.

‘Here we go again’.

Back at the ruins, Scratch is getting slowly weaker the longer she remains near the core of light.

‘What do I do?’ sobs Eye Small.

‘Get me out of here’ says Scratch struggling to breathe.

‘Eye Small drags her slowly by her tail, straining under the weight.

‘How can someone so skinny be so heavy?’ puffs Eye Small.

‘Hey watch it’ says Scratch.

He manages to drag her to the border of the ruins and her strength starts to come back slowly.

‘I feel a little better’ says Scratch ‘the closer I get to the core the worse I feel’.

‘Well it doesn’t seem to affect me’ says Eye Small.

‘That might be because you and the other minis aren’t connected to it yet’ she explains.

‘What happened to you?’ says Stump Smash as he and the other Skylanders arrive.

‘The core has gone haywire and it nearly drained all my energy’ says Scratch ‘on this side of the barrier we’re safe but I wouldn’t get too close’.

‘Well if we can’t get near it how are we supposed to stop it?’ says Boomer.

‘Stopping that might help’ says Eruptor pointing to the growing black light.

‘Is it just me or is that thing getting bigger?’ says Scorp.

‘It’s not just you’ says Stump Smash and we have to figure out how to stop it.

‘I think it’ll take all of us’ squeaks Barkley as he hobbles through the barrier.

‘You’re not going anywhere like that’ says Stump Smash ‘you and the other minis need to stay behind it’s too dangerous’.

‘That ship has well and truly sailed’ laughs Hoot Loop as he appears in front of them.

‘I really wish you wouldn’t do that’ says Stump Smash stumbling backwards.

‘Force of habit’ laughs Hoot Loop.

‘Well are we going or not?’ says Boomer ‘I need a little action’.

‘Don’t forget about me’ says Terrafin popping his head out of the dirt.

‘Well looks as though the gang is all here’ says Hoot Loop ‘shall we go?’.

‘What about the core?’ says Barkley.

‘If we don’t stop whatever is causing this, there won’t be a core’ says Stump Smash.

‘Scratch, Small and Barkley, come with me’ says Hoot Loop.

‘The rest of you come with me’ says Terrafin.

‘You expect me to travel underground?’ says Star Strike disgusted.

‘Well you could fly I suppose’ says Terrafin sarcastically ‘oh that’s right no wings’.

‘Fine’ says Star Strike ‘but I’m not happy about this.

They split up and head South towards the source of the black light, hoping they’re still in time to stop it…

Chapter 22

The mini Skylanders arrive at Kaos’s castle just as the Skylanders are leaving.

‘Did we miss it?’ says Small Fry.

Spyro looks at him with an angered expression ‘I thought I told you all to stay at the ruins’.

‘You did’ says Thumpling ‘but we thought you might need some help, and besides Barkley is one of us so we owe Gulper a little payback’

‘Fine but if things get out of hand you find cover’ says Spyro ‘agreed?’

‘Agreed’ say the minis in unison while keeping their fingers crossed behind their backs.

‘What are we waiting for?’ says Hothead ‘let’s go pay the queen a visit.

They march South to the Golden Queen’s castle unaware that she’s expecting them.

‘That’s right Skylanders’ she beams ‘come and get me’.

‘You do know you’ll fail don’t you?’ mocks Glumshanks.

‘Silence fool’ snaps the Golden Queen ‘you know nothing’

‘Well if my master and mistress can’t defeat the Skylanders, what chance do you have?’ smiles Glumshanks.

‘The difference being, they are fools’ says the Golden Queen ‘whereas I am a true evil genius’

‘I’ll believe that when I see it’ laughs Glumshanks.

The Golden Queen reaches into the mirror and pulls Glumshanks out.

‘Oh you will my little minion’ says the Golden Queen ‘take him to the tower, and let him see first-hand’

‘Yes majesty’ says Painyatta as he drags Glumshanks out of the room.

Glumshanks is dragged up numerous flights of stairs and then placed onto the roof of the tower like a weather vane.

‘How’s the view up there’ laughs Painyatta.

‘Ggget me down’ snivels Glumshanks ‘I’m sorry’

‘Too late for that now’ smiles Painyatta as he walks away, leaving Glumshanks alone on the roof.

He walks back into the throne roof with an evil grin.

‘It’s done my queen’ says Painyatta ‘you won’t have to look at the troll anymore’.

‘Well done Painyatta’ smiles the Golden Queen ‘now go with the others we must prepare a welcome for our guests.

‘Yes majesty’ says Painyatta bowing and scurrying away.

‘I’ll be ready for you Skylanders’ says the Golden Queen ‘Eon will be sorry he had the nerve to lock me away’.

The Skylanders are converging on the castle, ready to take it by force.

‘Everyone ready?’ says Spyro as the other Skylanders follow him onto the drawbridge.

‘I know you don’t think you’re going in without us’ says Cynder as she starts to land with Flash Wing and Jet-Vac.

‘I wouldn’t dream of it’ grins Spyro ‘but we’re still missing a few members.

‘You mean me?’ says Hoot Loop as he appears behind Spyro with Eye Small, Barkley and Scratch.

‘No he clearly means me’ gins Terrafin as he pops out of the dirt.

‘What an awful experience’ says Star Strike ‘how humiliating’.

‘Well looks as though we’re all here’ says Spyro.

‘Just one more thing’ says Double Trouble ‘we’ll need to keep our guard up in there, I can sense a powerful evil’.

‘He’s right’ says Star Strike ‘but it’s nothing we can’t handle’.

‘Then what are we standing around for?’ says Thumpback ‘CHARGE!!!!’

He hits the castle gate full force and shatters it into splinters.

‘Oopsie’ says Thumpback blushing.

‘Welcome Skylanders’ smiles the Golden Queen ‘I’ve been expecting you, please make yourselves at home’.

‘Enough niceties lady’ snaps Cynder ‘where are our friends?’

The Golden Queen points to Kaos and the captured Skylanders.

‘Let them go now!!’ roars Cynder

‘Such a feisty little dragon’ smirks the Golden Queen ‘I see you haven’t lost that dark streak’.

‘What are you talking about?’ says Cynder, lightning forming in her mouth ‘you know nothing about me’.

‘I know that you’re one of Eon’s little pet projects’ says the Golden Queen slyly ‘did he tell you that you were an important member of the team?’

‘Shut up!!!’ roars Cynder as she loses her temper and shoots lightning at the Golden Queen.

The Golden Queen raises her hand and absorbs it.

‘Is that the best you can do?’ mocks the Golden Queen.

‘Not by a long shot’ says Cynder as the full ceiling fills with lightning and it comes crashing down on the Golden Queens head causing an explosion.

‘How’s that lady?’ says Cynder.

*yawn* ‘oh are you finished?’ laughs the Golden Queen I thought you were going to put some effort in’

‘Why you…’ rages Cynder.

‘Calm down, that’s what she wants’ says Spyro holding her back.

‘How about this?’ says Star Strike ‘let’s go Scorp’.

‘No problem’ says Scorp as he launches plasma balls at Star Strike and she bats them toward the Golden Queen who dodges each one with ease.

‘If you’re not even going to try, what’s the point?’ mocks the Golden Queen.

‘Stand back and watch how it’s done’ says Ninjini drawing her swords.

She runs at the Golden Queen but stops dead just in front of her.

‘I can’t move’ stutters Ninjini ‘what did you do to me?’

‘Simple my dear’ says the Golden Queen ‘I just borrowed your bottle, because everyone knows that a genie cannot harm their own bottle’.

‘Give me that back, you old witch’ shouts Ninjini.

‘With pleasure’ says the Golden Queen as she uncorks the bottle, sucking Ninjini inside.

‘Let me out of here’ says Ninjini as the bottle bounces around.

The Golden Queen throws the bottle to Thumpback.

‘Here is your friend’ says the Golden Queen ‘I think she looks much better that way’.

‘You evil old hag’ says Whirlwind as her horn glows white with rage.

‘Oh look one of the monstrosities wishes to play’ mocks the Golden Queen ‘give me your best shot’.

‘With pleasure’ says Whirlwind as a giant rainbow erupts from her horn and hits the Golden Queen straight in the face, causing it to burn.

‘My beautiful face’ screeches the Golden Queen as she’s left with a burn mark ‘you’ll pay for that you freak of nature’

She raises her hands into the air.

‘What the heck is she doing?’ says Blades.

‘No idea’ says Stump Smash ‘but it looks as though she’s stretching’.

The Golden Queen’s tone of voice changes.

‘DESTROY THEM ALL!!’ she bellows.

Chapter 23

The villain army appears from every corner of the room.

‘Start with the Unicorn/Dragon’ orders the Golden Queen.

‘Scatter!!’ shouts Spyro.

The Skylanders split up and separate the villains.

‘How kind of you to provide some bones for me, I need a new guitar’ sneers Wolfgang.

‘Try it’ snaps Funny Bone.

‘You’re mine’ says Wolfgang as he dives at Funny Bone.

‘No you don’t’ says Slobber Tooth as he grabs Wolfgang by the tail and throws him backwards.

‘ahhhh!!’ screams Wolfgang as he’s flung across the room.

‘Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?’ laughs Chill.

‘How would you like that smile knocked off your face?’ says Painyatta.

‘hahahaha’ laughs Chill ‘I’m sorry but who could take you seriously, I mean look at you’.

‘How dare you!!’ snaps Painyatta ‘I’ll show you’.

He starts to pelt Chill with sweets from his mouth, like bullets.

‘Little help here’ says Chill covering her face with her shield.

‘I do love a good Pinyatta’ says Voodood as he smashes Painyatta on the head with his spear ‘mainly because I always win’.

‘Oww, stop that’ says Painyatta backing away.

‘Not until I win a prize’ smiles Voodood as he continues to pummel Painyatta.

‘Let me try’ says Slam Bam as he smashes his fist down on Painyatta.

‘Stop!!’ shouts Painyatta.

‘If you insist’ says Swarm as he dives down and hits Painyatta dead centre with his stinger.

Painyatta starts to break open and sweets pour all over the floor.

‘I win’ buzzes Swarm excitedly.

‘Miserable insect’ slurps Gulper as he slaps Swarm with his tongue, knocking him out of the air.

‘Hey!!’ shout the minis ‘you can’t do that to him’.

‘Who’s going to stop me midgets?’ says Gulper ‘you?’

‘That would be me’ smiles Crusher as he smashes Gulper with the face with his hammer shattering his crown.

‘My crown!!’ sobs Gulper ‘you’ll pay for that’.

‘I doubt it’ says Crusher as he winds back his hammer ‘batter up’.

He hits Gulper square in the chest and sends him flying into the air.

‘Thumpback heads up’ shouts Crusher.

Thumpack opens his blowhole and shoots a jet of water at Gulper sending him straight through the ceiling.

‘That was for Rex, Fizzy and Barkley you creep’ shout the minis.

‘Find some cover and stay out of sight’ shouts Spyro as he dodges Chef Pepper Jack.

‘But’ says Small Fry.

‘No buts, just do it’ shouts Spyro.

‘Hold still dragon’ says Chef Pepper Jack.

‘Not in this life time you overgrown chilli’ laughs Spyro.

Chef Pepper Jack continues to swing at Spyro.

‘Mind if I cut in?’ says Blades as he slices through Chef Pepper Jack’s pan with his wing blades.

‘You dare to challenge me?’ says Chef Pepper Jack ‘I’ll crush both of you’

‘How about 3?’ says Flash Wing as she hits Chef Pepper Jack with shards of crystal from her wings.

‘Owww’ says Chef Pepper Jack ‘no fair’.

‘What are you doing fools?’ screams the Golden Queen ‘I want them eliminated’.

‘Easier said than done majesty’ says Tussle Sprout as Torch and Trail Blazer pelt him with flames ‘ah hot, hot, hot’.

‘You call yourself villains?’ snaps the Golden Queen ‘you’re pathetic’.

‘Sorry majesty’ says Chomp Chest as Thumpback stands on him.

‘Give it up queenie’ says Cynder ‘we’ve got them on the ropes.

‘Not all of us’ giggles Krankcase as he fires his glue gun left and right, pinning Zap, Echo, Sonic Boom, Spy Rise and Trap Shadow to the walls.

‘What is this stuff?’ says Trap Shadow ‘I can’t reach my traps.

‘You’ve got no chance of breaking that’ laughs Krankcase it’s indestructible’.

‘Well done doctor’ says the Golden Queen ‘it’s nice to see you’re not all incompetent.

The captured Skylanders struggle to get free as Krankcase sets his sights on the rest of them.

He hits Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy and Jet-Vac plugging up their guns.

‘Hey no fair’ says Trigger Happy.

‘Who said anything about fair?’ says Krankcase ‘I am evil after all’

‘When I get this gunk off I’m gonna blast you into next week’ snaps Jet-Vac.

‘I’d love to see you try’ chuckles Krankcase.

Boom Jet and Free Ranger dive for Krankcase’s gun, but he spots them.

‘Naughty, naughty’ says Krankcase shooting more of his glue, binding Free Ranger to the floor and gunking up Boom Jet’s engine causing him to crash.

‘That could have gone better’ says Boom Jet rubbing his head.

‘This guy is annoying me’ says Crusher as he prepares to smash Krankcase with his hammer.

‘Don’t even think about it’ says the Chompy Mage as he changes into his Chompy form and swallows the hammer.

‘My hammer!!’ shouts Crusher.

‘Delicious’ booms the Chompy Mage.

‘Give that back’ says Hot Head as he spits oil around the Chompy Mage.

‘Eruptor if you would’ says Hot Head.

‘With pleasure’ says Eruptor as he barfs lava all over the oil, setting it alight.

‘Fire!!’ screams the Chompy Mage returning to his regular form ‘I hate fire’.

‘Don’t be such a baby’ says Dream Catcher as she blows the flames out.

‘For a non Chompy, you’re alright Dream Catcher’ says the Chompy Mage.

‘Thank you’ says Dream Catcher with a creepy smile.

‘Enough playing around’ says the Golden Queen as she grabs hold of Breeze ‘you have a choice Skylanders, give yourselves up or I destroy her’.

Chapter 24

Breeze tries to break free and her horn glows as she gets more annoyed.

‘Don’t worry about me, you can’t let her get away with this’ says Breeze.

‘Silence fool’ snaps the Golden Queen.

Boomer sneaks up to the core of darkness and tries to release some of the Skylanders.

‘This is going to be more difficult than it looks’ sighs Boomer.

‘Get away from there traitor’ says Chill Bill as he fires at Boomer.

‘Stop you idiot, you’ll hit the core’ screams the Golden Queen as icy beams bounce off the floor.

‘You really need to aim better’ says Boomer as he throws dynamite sticks at Chill Bill making him dance about.

‘I said STOP!!’ booms the Golden Queen sending a shock wave through the palace knocking all the Skylanders and villains off their feet.

‘Temper, temper’ mocks Spyro ‘no need to be so grumpy’.

‘You insolent lizard, I should have crushed you myself, but I suppose your little friend will do for starters’ says the Golden Queen as she squeezes Breeze.

Breeze bites down on her hand causing the Golden Queen to fling her towards Terrafin.

‘Gotcha kid’ says Terrafin ‘you ok?’

‘I will be when I get the taste of that old fossil out of my mouth’ spits Breeze.

‘Clearly I must do everything myself’ says the Golden Queen, her eyes starting to burn with anger ‘leave me’.

The villains all scatter rather than face her wrath.

‘Now what to do with all of you’ wonders the Golden Queen ‘ah yes I have the perfect thing’.

She claps her hands and giant Traptanium cage falls from the ceiling and lands on top of the Skylanders.

‘Hey’ shouts Cynder ‘what is this?’

‘That is the same thing your precious Eon had the nerve to trap me in’ says the Golden Queen.

‘Look lady, you clearly have issues’ says Fling Kong ‘but is there any reason to take it out on everyone else?’

‘Silence simian’ snaps the Golden Queen.

She walks over to the core of darkness and boosts the output.

‘I honestly expected the Skylanders to be a challenge but clearly your reputation is highly exaggerated’ says the Golden Queen smugly as she turns back to her machine.

‘It’s not over yet witch’ says Hijinx as she and the other minis stand together in a line.

‘hahahaha’ laughs the Golden Queen turning around ‘and what do you suppose you are going to do?’

‘We’re going to stop you’ says Breeze.

‘How pre tell are you planning to do that?’ mocks the Golden Queen.

‘Like this..’ says Hijinx as she musters all the strength she can and blasts the Golden Queen off her feet.

‘Oof, why you little pest’ says the Golden Queen catching her breathe.

‘Nicely done’ says Breeze.

‘Thank you’ says Hijinx.

‘My turn’ says Bop as he rushes towards the Golden Queen in a ball and hits her straight in the chest.

‘Uhhh, finally you Skylanders send me a challenge’ says the Golden Queen gasping.

‘You haven’t seen anything yet lady’ says Breeze as he horn glows a burning white.

‘Keep her away from me’ screams the Golden Queen as Breeze fires a rainbow straight into her face.

‘My beautiful face’ shrieks the Golden Queen ‘How can you little monsters be so strong?’

‘Simple’ says Small Fry ‘we’re not connected to the core so it can’t drain our energy like it has with the others’.

‘I’ll destroy you all’ screams the Golden Queen ‘I will not be denied’.

‘You’re done lady’ says Barkley.

‘How dare you, I am your queen and I demand your respect’ hisses the Golden Queen.

‘Respect this’ says Whisper Elf as she appears behind the Golden Queen and stabs her with a piece of Traptanium.

‘What have you done?’ screams the Golden Queen.

‘I’m putting you where you won’t hurt anyone again’ says Whisper Elf as the Golden Queen starts to merge with the Traptanium.

‘You can’t do this to me’ sobs the Golden Queen ‘I am the ruler of Skylands…’

‘Not today lady’ says Eye Small ‘better luck next time’

Chapter 25

As the Golden Queen fades away all that’s left is a piece of Traptanium.

‘So much for her’ laughs Whisper Elf holding the Traptanium proudly.

‘Let me out of here!!!’ screams the Golden Queen ‘or you will pay’

‘Ahhh’ shrieks Whisper Elf as she nearly drops the Traptanium.

‘Watch it’ says Eye Small ‘we don’t want to break it’.

All of the unfolding events are being watched by the villains.

‘The queen lost’ sobs Masker Mind ‘my beautiful majesty’.

‘I don’t know about you but it’s every Chompy for himself’ says the Chompy Mage as he runs out of the castle.

‘Wait for me…’ says Dream Catcher as she floats away as fast as she can.

‘I knew I picked the wrong side’ says Wolfgang as he disappears into the shadows.

‘Traitors’ says Krankcase ‘stand and defend your queen’.

‘Give it up doc’ says Chef Pepper Jack ‘we lost and I’d rather not end up the same way as her’.

‘Agreed’ say the other villains as they all run away with Chef Pepper Jack.

‘We’ll be back for you my queen’ says Masker Mind as he and Krankcase spring through the ceiling and away from the palace.

‘So much for the great army’ laughs Weeruptor ‘what a bunch of chickens’.

The core starts to rage out of control as the energy intensifies.

‘That doesn’t look good’ says Eye Small as the black light covers the palace.

‘So how do we shut it off?’ says Thumpling.

‘I say we smash it’ says Bop.

‘I’m with you’ says Small Fry.

‘No-one is smashing anything’ says Hijinx ‘we have to find a way to stop the energy flow without hurting any of our friends’.

They all examine the machine trying to figure out the best way to block it.

‘We need something to block the eye while we get Kaos out’ says Hijinx ‘that should stop it’.

‘I know just the thing’ beams Breeze.

She opens her wings as wide as she can.

‘On my mark break those bonds and get him out, understood?’ says Breeze.

‘Understood’ say Bop and Small Fry standing by.

‘Breeze flaps her wings as hard as she can and an enormous black cloud appears.

‘Pet-Vac do your thing’ says Breeze.

‘I’m on it’ says Pet Vac lifting his air gun down and aiming for the cloud.

‘Fire’ shouts Breeze.

Pet-Vac’s gun bursts into life and lifts the cloud high into the air until it’s able to block the eye.

‘NOW!!’ screams Breeze.

Bop and Small Fry hit Kaos’ bonds at exactly the same time and they shatter.

The cloud starts to move.

‘Grab him’ shouts Hijinx.

Thumpling leaps forward and grabs Kaos just as the beam crashes into his seat.

‘Where am i?’ says Kaos dazed ‘GLUMSHANKS!!’.

Whisper Elf slaps him across the face ‘calm down you idiot’ she says.

‘How dare you strike the face of KAOS!!’ says Kaos.

‘I’ll do worse if you don’t shut up’ says Hijinx ‘how do we stop this thing?’

‘How the mighty have fallen’ mocks Kaos ‘coming to me for help, priceless’

‘We don’t really have time for this Kaos’ says Eye Small ‘are you going to help us or not?’

‘Why should i?’ says Kaos ‘what have you Skylosers ever done for me?’

‘I give you my word that once this is over, you’ll be free to go’ says Hijinx.

Kaos thinks for a second.

‘Agreed Skylander, I will help you this time, but do not think this changes anything between us’ says Kaos.

‘I wouldn’t have it any other way’ smiles Hijinx.

‘First we need to absorb the excess energy’ says Kaos as he steps up to the core ‘I will need you to control the elements as I absorb the dark energy, can you handle that?’

‘Not a problem’ says Hijinx ‘everyone in position’.

They join hands in a circle around the core as Kaos starts to absorb the dark energy.

‘I feel weird’ says Weeruptor as he starts to glow.

‘Whatever you do don’t let go’ says Kaos.

The other minis start to glow as they absorb the elemental energy.

‘I don’t think I can hold on’ says Barkley as it gets too much for him.

‘Just a little more’ shouts Kaos as there’s a feedback of energy that nearly knocks him off his feet.

‘I can’t do it’ says Barkley as he collapses.

Without Barkley the elemental energy becomes unstable and starts to fly in all directions.

‘Get them out, I’ll hold it back’ says Hijinx in a strained voice.

‘You can’t take it all, you’ll die’ says Eye Small starting to cry.

‘I’m Undead’ laughs Hijinx ‘that means nothing to me’.

They start to get the Skylanders out as the energy beam gets stronger.

‘Uhhh’ says Hijinx as she focuses all her energy.

‘They’re free’ says Whisper Elf ‘you can stop’.

‘I can’t’ says Hi Jinx ‘it’s too strong if I let go this whole place will blow.

The core starts to overload from the force of being held back, knocking Hijinx to the floor.

‘Everyone take cover’ shouts Whisper Elf ‘it’s gonna blow…

Chapter 26 - Part 2

Well this was fun Skylosers, but I must depart’ says Kaos ‘come Glumshanks’.

‘Yes master’ says Glumshanks grabbing the mirror.

‘Wait’ says Spyro ‘I just want to thank you, we couldn’t have done it without you Kaos, and I hope one day we can be friends’.

Kaos turns to Spyro ‘you must be joking’ says Kaos ‘the one and only reason I helped you is because I am the only person who will rule Skylands and I will do it my way, until we meet again Skylosers’.

Kaos snaps his fingers and he, Glumshanks and his mother disappear in a cloud of smoke.

‘How rude’ says Whisper Elf ‘and after we saved him as well’.

‘Well at least he’s consistent’ laughs Spyro.

The Skylanders look up at the core of light and its back to the way it should be.

‘The core has never looked better’ smiles Whirlwind.

‘I’d have to agree’ says Cynder.

They all turn to look at her.

‘What am I not allowed to be happy once in a while’ snaps Cynder.

‘We owe it all to these little guys’ says Spyro looking over at the minis.

They start to blush because all eyes are on them.

‘We only did what any of you would have done’ says Small Fry.

‘Hey!!’ says Hoot Loop ‘I finally figured it out’.

‘What are you squawking about?’ says Terrafin.

‘I saw Eon and he told me that the smallest wave would make the biggest impact’ says Hoot Loop.

‘So…’ says Terrafin.

‘So.. He was talking about them’ says Hoot Loop pointing at the minis ‘he must have known how things would turn out’.

‘Well done Hoot Loop’ says Eon as he appears in front of the core.

‘Master Eon’ say the Skylanders bowing.

‘You have done well, Skylanders’ says Eon ‘the Golden Queen is no longer a threat and you have added more members to your ranks’.

The minis look stunned ‘you mean us?’ they ask in unison.

‘I do’ says Eon ‘you have more than proven to me that you are worthy of becoming Skylanders’.

Eye Small starts to cry ‘I don’t know what to say’ he says between sobs ‘this is the happiest day of my life’

‘Come on Small, not in front of Eon’ says Hijinx ‘you’ll embarrass us’.

‘It is perfectly alright’ says Eon smiling.

‘Thank you sir’ says Eye Small.

‘Please place your hands on the core’ says Eon.

The minis walk forward and place their hands on the symbols around the core of light.

The core starts to glow as some of the elemental energy is released and circles around each of the minis.

There is a bright flash of light and a loud bang followed by a cloud of white smoke.

Once the cloud clears the minis are stunned by what they find.

‘Whoah’ says Terrabite ‘check this out.

He points to his belt, and reveals an Earth symbol.

‘That is to show your connection to your own individual element’ says Eon.

‘I love it’ says Terrabite flexing his muscles.

‘You are now and forever, Skylanders’ says Eon ‘congratulations’.

‘Three cheers for our newest team members, the Mini Skylanders’ booms Tree Rex ‘hip hip’

‘Hooray’ comes the reply.

‘Hip Hip’ says Tree Rex.

‘Hooray’ they reply.

HIP HIP’ booms Tree Rex.

‘HOORAY!!!’ scream the Skylanders.

The Minis are clearly lost for words, but Hijinx steps forward.

‘I’d just like to say, on behalf of all the Mini Skylanders team, we’re proud and honoured to be officially joining you, and we won’t let you down’ she says.

The Minis cheer.

‘Couldn’t have said it better myself’ says Mini Jini with a smile ‘nicely done Jinx’.

‘Excuse me for interrupting’ says Snap Shot ‘but what are we going to do now?’

‘I’m glad you asked’ says Eon ‘with Cloudcracker prison gone we have nowhere to keep all of the villains that are loose in Skylands’.

‘So where are we supposed to put them?’ asks Short Cut.

‘I believe Whisper Elf has already demonstrated that even the smallest bit of Traptanium can be most effective’ says Eon.

‘That’s true’ says Snapshot ‘but we still have nowhere to keep them all so this doesn’t happen again’.

‘That’s where I come in’ says Razor Fin.

‘You again?’ says Terrafin raising his fists.

‘Calm down I’m not here to arrest you’ says Razor Fin ‘Eon explained the situation and I’d like to apologize, I was wrong about you’.

Terrafin is stunned and lowers his fists.

‘Apology accepted’ says Terrafin.

‘So what have you got planned?’ asks Snap Shot.

‘Well when Eon told me about Cloudcracker prison, which was some of my best work by the way’ grins Razor Fin ‘I got the boys working on converting Crystal Cavern into a storage facility’

‘Sounds good to me’ says Snap Shot.

‘So what are we waiting for?’ says Gusto ‘let’s go round up some villains’.

‘You might need these’ says Eon presenting the Trap Masters with their weapons.

‘Nearly forgot about those’ says Snap Shot as he hands them out.

‘Also I took the liberty of commissioning these’ says Eon ‘Razor Fin if you would be so kind’.

Razor Fin hands out individually carved shards of Traptanium to each of the Skylanders.

‘How come mine looks like Kaos?’ says Spyro.

‘That is a special shard’ explains Eon ‘it is a last resort against Kaos’.

‘Understood’ nods Spyro.

‘Well let’s get this party started’ says Kaboom firing his cannon.

‘I’m with you’ says Crusher cracking his knuckles ‘I owe that twerpy Chompy Mage a pounding for taking my hammer’.

‘I guess that means we’re on guard duty again’ sighs Weeruptor.

‘Not this time’ says Cynder ‘you’re coming with us, you’ve earned it’.

Weeruptor’s face start to burn hotter than ever with happiness.

‘Good luck Skylanders’ says Eon ‘remember to trust each other and you can overcome anything’.

The Skylanders wave as they go their separate ways, ready to face whatever or whoever comes their way.

Kaos is watching through his portal, as the Skylanders leave.

‘I knew that old fossil would make a mess of things’ sneers Kaos.

‘Yes master’ snivels Glumshanks ‘she’s nothing compared with you sir’.

‘Quiet fool, I’m thinking’ says Kaos.

‘What are you thinking about dear’ asks his mother.

‘About my most evil scheme yet’ grins Kaos ‘be warned Skylanders, for I KAOS!! Will not rest until all of Skylands is mine….
