[OPINION] Why do the mods here suck at their job? [CLOSED]

*waits eagerly for much smiting to come*

*No smiting shows up*

Eh, really I do feel like the mods, especially in S&N, could do a little better, or at least maybe promote some more of us (minmum: at least yellow sparx, maybe even set the minimum higher, and look at past performance and ban record*

EDIT: Since I made page and thus this post might actually get noticed, I'll say a bit more.

Really I see mentions of certain organs and a lot of other inappropriate stuff all the time, and it feels like often nothing is done about it even when I report it, I get that the mods are busy but still....
Quite honestly, it feels like the rules are really loosely enforced here in S&N than elsewhere in the site.

^To be fair, it's stated in the rules that moderation is a bit more lenient in S&N (specifically with spam) because that's what the section is for.

Probably not as lenient as it is, but still.

To be honest, I think the moderators here suck because this forum sucks. It's full of super hostile people, and eventually becomes impossible to control. Also, the majority of the mods are either super biased or don't do anything at all.

and yes I said the forum sucks and it does but I'm still here because I suck too so yay <3

JCW and HIR both seem to be the highs of the mod team, at least in my opinion. Wild isn't bad at all. I think she is, essentially, the only supporting pillar of the RP community. Bionicle is excellent at his job, from my observation. Skylanders section is still rowdy, but... still. I have, in fact, seen SpyroD moderate. He seeemed unbiased.... but I didn't know he even existed beforehand. Gil... no. just no. I think, of the active ones, the worst mod is...

Damn, I check in on this topic hours later and not a single mod has even responded. Are they scared? The least they could say (looking at you Matteo and JCW) is "we will try to enforce the rules". Yeah, we're in S&N, but it has gone too far.

Definitely Matteo. He never seems to learn from the mistakes. Even the most incessantly annoying users get better over time... but he started off not that bad, and that was never really improved upon.

The problem starts with an incompetent admin: it took him YEARS to get mods, RARELY even considers suggestions, and the mods that he picked might as well be a worst decision than buying clothes at Walmart.

We need another Admin, though knowing dark, he'd probably choose a random person and dS would go to the fiery depths of hell (as if isn't already).

GG mods. And G freaking G dark.

I think dark52 doesn't care weather this site floats or sinks. I also find it hard to imagine a 27 year old still interested in Spyro, which could probably explain his lack of authoritative presence.

What I find to be a big problem with the mods is the lack of a broad timezone selection. I've seen many spam attacks during the day when the mods are inactive which can sometimes take a few hours to clean up.

If wakka isn't a mod anymore, good. I remember earlier this year she gnorc'd a user because they said they didn't really care about anyone on this site. Probably the most pathetic reason to temporarily ban someone. What did she want to achieve? I'll force some unknown person on the internet who doesn't care about us to love me?

Problem: Most of S&N are teens.
Those who aren't don't have time.
The mature teens aren't interested.
The immature ones are.
Some don't care, they just want regulation.

Someone needs to step up to the plate and tell her otherwise. I would, but I never see her anymore and I don't have a clear reason to. If for whatever reason you or I got banned (based on her emotions) then we just end up with more fuel to get her demoted.

A crap mod is a crap mod, and its ridiculous that she is still in the moderator user groups.

Zer0dch, I don't know what you want from me TBH. The last 5 days I have not had a single reported post in S&N, and I appreciate everyone in S&N for that. Now I know I take jokes too seriously sometimes, and I have admitted to in the past publicly that I acknowledge that and try my damnedest not take jokes as serious anymore. Now, you've said to me that I take thing's "far fetched" on my GB. Now I know that you've based this on my "post history" and I find that funny because, while yes, I can take things too seriously and I can come as stand off-ish, and I know that, I do have a sense of humor. I can be funny and I can be light-hearted. I know that I have ****ed up in the past, and I have admitted to that, but you can't blindly say that I have ONLY done any moderation when it comes to the Windumup girlfriend situation.

People have already defended me and pointed out my faults in this thread, so I don't need to go over those. In the end, if no one reports posts to me, and no one PM's me about any posts that potentially violate the rules, then I really can't do anything other than skim threads to make sure nothing bad is going on.

As for enforcing the rules, it's more lenient in S&N, and I do take it as such. If people spam in Idle Chatter, I would take more action in there than in Stuff and Nonsense.

In the end. I try my best, and I **** up, and I succeed. I dedicate a portion of my day to check this place. The longest I took off from the site was 1 week, and that was due to my HDD corrupting.

Maybe since you constantly "**** up" you aren't fit to be a moderator. A lot of users besides myself tend to think this of you. I've noticed you always take emotions into play whenever modding the forum.

About the moderate feature, I'm sure enough people use it to take notice?

Dark is used to spam on his guestbook, so I'm not sure he'd care. The PM idea... I don't know, if enough people did it it might irritate him enough, but we don't even know if he even looks at his inbox very often. He would straight up ignore a petition or thread about Matteo's issues.

I'm mostly fine with the mods but I do have issues with them, mainly with some of their suspensions. I don't really feel like I have the right to complain though.

JCW may make mistakes, but he's still one of the better mods and his mistakes don't seem as bad as some of the others. He can just sometimes hit the hammer of justice a little too hard.

To me, JCW, HIR, and Bionicle are among the best. If anyone is getting demoted, it shouldn't be any of them.

About the moderate feature, I'm sure enough people use it to take notice?

since when is it constant? there's been a few instances early on, yeah, but for the most part jcw is a great moderator.

I was simply restating what he said in an earlier post.
