plz watch the first ep of JT and then compare it to a newer ep, you will see a difference

I liked Seasons 1 and 2 about the same, maybe leaning more towards S2, though I hate the useless filler they did with Bolin's character, and I honestly didn't care for Asami's conflict. Unalaq's entire character was in odds with his intentions, imo. Why would someone highly spiritual want to create an imbalance on that scale?

Season 1 suffered from the love square, and the lack of POV from the nonbenders/Equalists/Amon. The original series had a few episodes dedicated to showing us what it was like from the Fire Nation's point of view, while we had a couple of two minute rallies. I get that LOK just doesn't have the amount of episodes for this, but it needs it.

Both suffered from terrible pacing, the good characterisation, lighthearted humour, and lack of filler episodes that gave TLA its charm.

Season 2 gave lots of good gifs tho.

tbh though i do like korra, i mean i really do, but what i hate about it is the time skip. id rather have a tv adaptation of the comics because in LoK all the atla characters are either ancient or dead and i would like to see more of the atla characters, as they have lots more personality than the LoK characters

Ok, Season 1 was the best story wise, love triangle overdose notwithstanding, but season 2 had stunning animation and Wan, so they balance out (though ultimately I prefer S1).

Season 3 seems pretty awesome so far though.
Only have the final episode of Airbender left to watch, then I'll be completely caught up with both series. Really, LoK and AtLA are quite different and thus shouldn't be so viciously compared, both have great elements (pun not intended... I guess), both are definitely the best shows to air on Nick, and they're a heckuva franchise. Airbender's an action-adventure, and Korra's more of an action-drama (though S3 is more action-adventure so far).

Though I for one think Korra's first season was better than ATLA's first season. Though in a way, ATLA's only good, not great, first season almost served to make the show more of a deconstruction. It starts out a show about kids trying to save the world, a classic formula, but as time goes on and we go into later seasons, it gets more realistic, more brutal, and darker, and explores a bit more how dark the idea of children having to save the world actually is. At least that's MAI APPAnion, but do you really WAN to start a debate over it?

While I agree that season 1 of LoK was better than season 1 of ATLA (Personally, I disliked season 1 of ATLA), Season 2 of ATLA was better than LoK by far. While I still think that ATLA will be better for season 3, I will hold onto my opinion until season 3 of korra has finished, because it actually look really promising.

Just watched Sozin's Comet and highly doubt LoK (or hardly any series) will ever be able to top that.
Season 3 of Avatar was perfection, though Season 3 of Korra does look good.

Also, I noticed, while browsing the channels at a friends' recently (don't have cable/satellite myself) that the show appears to have finally earned a PG rating. How on earth that was Y7 while that Mixels [bleep] (and I rarely ever cuss) is PG is beyond me. Though judging by some of the comments on this thread, the show certainly does have fans among 7 year olds.

(To be clear, I'm not saying a Y7 series can't be absolutely stunning, just so ya know, no wait, just so YAKONE! Eh, nvm)

I've always preferred TLA over LOK. The characters in LOK are just not as good as TLA, and it's mainly because they're not getting the character development, since it's always put aside for the plot. I get that it's because LOK doesn't have a lot of episodes. But I reckon LOK's cast has great potential for being great characters, but they just need that development. At the moment I'm finding that Tenzin and his siblings are a better trio than the LOK cast. seriously they would make a waaaay better show

and i swear Korra was a better character in the first season, or is it just me? i really liked her in the first season, but now i just think she's 'meh', like most of the main cast.

i think the only character i hated in TLA was season 2 and 3 Katara.
