This is the final song of the Attila story Spanish band Dark Moor told in their album called the Dark Moor. This album features a new singer who has a lot to develop but come modern days Alfred Romero is one of the best Power Metal singers out there. The Ghost Sword is actually a great piece of art. It has technical musicianship skills combined with a historic story to be told about fall of Rome and settling of invading cultures in the first days of Middle Ages in Europe.

Rhapsody of Fire is Italian Film Score Metal band. It has set the standard bar for every
other symphonic metal band all over the world. Nowadays the band is divided into two different bands; Rhapsody of Fire and Luca Turilli's Rhapsody. But when those two musician masterminds where combined, the end result was magical and divine. This is the finale of the saga Luca Turilli wrote for his and Alex Staropoli's band. It contains powerful melodies, stories and musical elements, and it is supported by Mr Christopher Lee's bombastic voice etc. I almost cry in the end of this song, and that should tell something since I am not that emotional guy.

Recently I’ve been listening, re-introducing myself if you may, to German power metal band Freedom Call that has been active since 1998. Mainly my focus has been on their new album called Beyond which was released this year. I must say that this new album has become equal favourite to me besides their 2010 album known as Legend of the Shadowking. Here is couple of songs from the both albums to depict their musical style.

Freedom Call – Beyond
Freedom Call – The Darkness

Beyond as an album is a nostalgia trip to me. It reminds me of the band’s earlier great albums. It is feel-good power metal from the beginning to the start. I also admire the way they have managed to mature their song writing skills throughout the years.

Legend of the Shadowking is a very different Freedom Call album when compared to band’s production. It is darker, more dramatic and all-in-all gloomier without losing their original touch to their music. It was so different attempt to approach their style and to me it was successful. All in all these two albums are very different but yet very same. I recommend to everyone who likes power metal music.
